Montana Oil Fields, Conrad F. Lundgren
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Since the discovery of oil in Montana in1916, the petroleum industry has advanced to a point where over 5,000,000 barrels of oil worthover $6,500,000 has been produced in each of the three past years (1936, 1937, and 1938).
The Age Hardening Of Silver With Copper-Silicide, Joseph Edward Shaw
The Age Hardening Of Silver With Copper-Silicide, Joseph Edward Shaw
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The successful application of the phenomenon of precipitation hardening to aluminum and copper has indicated the possibility of hardening all metals in the same way. The phenomenon of age hardening was discoveredin 1911, and since that time much research has been carried on in all parts of the world on various alloy systems.

Investigation Of A Method For Extraction Of Indium From Zinc Flue Dust., Harold L. Tanner
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
In metallurgical practice today some of the relatively rare metal Indium is recovered as a by-product from the ores of other metals. Indium is a soft, silvery—white metal belonging to the third group of the periodic classification. It is situated just above tin in the electrochemical series.
The Age Hardening Of Copper With Manganese Silicide., Gordon A. Davis
The Age Hardening Of Copper With Manganese Silicide., Gordon A. Davis
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The increase in hardness is attributed to the manganese silicide being precipitated from solid solution and deposited between crystal planes. The subsequent softening which occurs on prolonging the period of reheating is believed to be due to an agglomeration of the dispersed hardening agent.
Geology Of The Golden Sunlight Mine And Vicinity, Roy H. Earhart
Geology Of The Golden Sunlight Mine And Vicinity, Roy H. Earhart
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The Golden Sunlight Mine is in the northern part of the Cardwell mining district on the eastern slope of a small range that rises by a series of benches to an elevation of 7,200 at a point five miles east of the town of Whitehall in Jefferson County.

The Pre-Jurassic Surface Of Montana., G. Fay
The Pre-Jurassic Surface Of Montana., G. Fay
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
It has long been known that, prior to the deposition of Jurassic sediments, Montana was subjected to an intensive period of erosion. Mention of this may be found in numerous reports, especially those dealing with western Montana.
Electrolytic Manganese, George T. Derana
Electrolytic Manganese, George T. Derana
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The production of metallic manganese by electrolysis is of potential value for the recovery of this strategic metal from domestic deposits. These deposits are largely unsuitable for the production of ferromanganese, but they are amenable to low-cost leaching processes.
Igneous Rocks Of The Jardine And Crevasse Mountain Mining Districts., Ray E. Gilbert
Igneous Rocks Of The Jardine And Crevasse Mountain Mining Districts., Ray E. Gilbert
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
It is surprising to learn that so large a variety of igneous rocks is present in the Jardine and Crevasse Mountain mining districts, a region that is generally thought of as consisting principally of schists.
Powder Metallurgy, Cecil R. Waldron
Powder Metallurgy, Cecil R. Waldron
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The metal powders may be produced in a number of different ways. In metals where the intercrystalline material is brittle enough, they may be ground in a ball mill or eddy mill. The fineness of such a powder is more or less controlled by the grain size of the original metal.
Glaciation In The Logan Quadrangle, Utah, J. Llewellyn Young
Glaciation In The Logan Quadrangle, Utah, J. Llewellyn Young
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
That the higher valleys of the Wasatch Mountains were occupied by Pleistocene glaciers has long been known. King, Hague, and Emmons, geologists of the Fortieth Parallel Survey, the first to undertake a systematic study of any part of the Wasatch Mountains, recognized this fact and their report includes a map which shows in a rough way the extent of the glaciated areas in the Central Wasatch (11 ). In 1909 Atwood (1) made a detailed study of the glacial features of the Central Wasatch in connection with his study of glaciation in the Uinta Mountains. He mapped the deposits of …

The White River Oligocene Rodent Diplolophus, Erwin Hinckley Barbour, Thompson M. Stout
The White River Oligocene Rodent Diplolophus, Erwin Hinckley Barbour, Thompson M. Stout
Bulletin of the University of Nebraska State Museum
The rich and varied nature of the mammalian faunas of the White River Oligocene has been recognized for many years, but the exact geologic succession is only now becoming known. In these faunal assemblages the rodents and lagomorphs appear to have been important elements, perhaps numerically as abundant in the Oligocene as are these same groups at present.
