Synthesis of a new fluorinated nucleoside of 6,7-difluoro-2-methyl-4-quinazolinone was described. 2-Amino-4,5-difluorobenzoic acid 1 reacts with (CH3CO)2O followed by ammonia to form (1H)-6,7-difluoro-2-methyl-4-quinazolinone 3a. Ribosylation of a silylated 4 with l-O-acety1-2,3-5-tri-O-benzoyl-α-D-ribofuranose 5 forms a protected nucleoside 6 then unprotected from 6 to give a free nucleoside 7. In this study poly (4-nitrophenylazo-3-aminopyridine - formaldehyde) (PNAAP-F) and poly (4-nitroarylazo-3-chloro-6-hydroxypyridine - formaldehyde) (NAACHP-F) were synthesized via diazotization, coupling and polycondensation reactions. The structural properties of the as-synthesized dyes were acquired using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and UV-visible absorption maxima and their color, yield, melting point, solubility, and viscosity were determined via standard methods. UV-visible and FTIR results show successful formation of the polymeric dyes due to shift of wavelength of maximum absorption (λmax) (440-490 nm, 480-540 nm) and new absorption peak at around (2780-2995 cm-1) for methylene bridge respectively. Ketoprofen (KET) is an active pharmaceutical compound that has pain relieving and antipyretic effects. Its determination in body fluids and environmental waters is important due to widespread use of the compound. In this study, a selective and reliable method has been developed for the determination of ketoprofen in water and artificial serum using molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) as a solid phase extraction sorbent prior to HPLC-DAD detection. The synthesis of ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles was performed using the solution combustion method with three types of fuel, namely urea, glycine, and ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA) with precursors (Zn(NO3)2.6H2O and Fe(NO3)3.9H2O. The combustion process was conducted in an open space at 300 °C for ± 1 h, resulting in a brownish-black ZnFe2O4. In our current phytochemical investigation on the Tunisian plant Lycium arabicum Schweinf. ex Boiss., we attempted to explore the oil obtained from its fruits. Morphological and microstructural investigations of synthesized undoped and Ni, Co-doped Fe2O3 particles were performed. The effect of particle morphology and microstructure on its photocatalytic performance was further investigated. Comparative studies for evaluating particle crystallite sizes were conducted by Williamson-Hall (W-H) method and modified Debye-Scherrer (MDS). We performed a theoretical study, at the BLYP/aug-cc-pVDZ theoretical level, of the mechanisms of H-transfer between biologically relevant tautomers of cytosine and guanine. The analysis of the ground- and excited state energy barriers of the conversions showed that in some cases they are lower as compared to the ground state reactions. The inclusion of one water molecule as a catalyst in the oxo-amino form of cytosine and guanine drastically changes the mechanism of the reactions in the ground as well as in the excited state. Zirconium-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate metal-organic framework (Zr-NDC MOF) was prepared using ultrasound-assisted synthesis and tested for the adsorptive removal of crystal violet (CV) dye from aqueous solution. The pristine Zr-NDC was characterized using powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared, elemental analysis, and dynamic light scattering techniques. The aim of this study was the determination of chromatographic profiles of major whey proteins (WP): α-lactalbumin (α-La), β-lactoglobulin A and B, (β-Lg A and B), bovine serum albumin (BSA) in dairy beverages based on Zonar milk serum. The studied WP were separated by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) on Aeris XB-C18 column using gradient elution with 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in water and 0.1% TFA in 80% acetonitrile, at 214 nm detection. In this work, the miscibility of Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and Polystyrene (PS) blend in benzene was investigated by employing various techniques such as FTIR spectroscopy, viscosity measurement technique, light scattering techniques, DSC and TGA techniques over an extended range of concentrations, compositions, and temperatures. A facile and sensitive colorimetric detection method for sildenafil citrate (SLDC) has been developed by using polyvinyl alcohol-citrate-stabilized silver nanoparticles (PVA-Cit-AgNPs). The sensitivity and selectivity of colorimetric detection were investigated in detail. The PVA-Cit-AgNPs could be induced to aggregate immediately in the presence of SLDC, especially after the addition of 0.1 M HCl solution. The SLD could be detected by the colorimetric response of AgNPs that could be monitored by a UV-Vis spectrophotometer or even the naked eye. The first step of the synthesis is the reaction of epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) with 2-chloroethyl maleic acid (Cl-MA-ESO). The last step is quaternarization of this condensate with triethylamine (Q-MA-ESO). All the synthesized monomers were characterized by FTIR and 1H NMR techniques. They are known for their carcinogenic and mutagenic properties. Thus, their removal from water bodies is highly crucial and has become a critical issue globally. In this study, ternary mixed oxide catalysts containing Al2O3-MoO3-MgO and Al2O3-MoO3-WO3 were prepared with a changing ratio of MoO3:Al2O3 between 0.05 and 20.00. All catalysts showed 100% selectivity towards propene during the conversion of propan-2-ol at temperatures between 220 and 400 °C. The catalysts prepared from WO3 possessed very strong acid sites, which cause higher catalytic activity than catalysts prepared from MgO. In this study, Pd/C, Cu/C, and a series of PdCu/C bimetallic electrocatalysts were prepared by microwave-assisted modified polyol method to determine glycerol electrooxidation reaction (GOR) activities. The effect of microwave duration on catalyst structure and GOR activity was investigated on PdCu/C bimetallic catalysts. Also, a commercial Pd/C (com-Pd/C) was used to compare catalytic activities with prepared samples. Electrocatalysts were characterized by using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) analyses. A glassy carbon electrode, modified with gold nanoparticles/over-oxidized poly-eriochrome black T film, was fabricated for sensitive determination of As(III) by stripping voltammetry in an acidic medium. The electrode surface properties were characterized by cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The electrode demonstrated a good response towards As(III), with a detection of 0.077 μM and good linearity in the range of 0.1 to 10 μM (R2 = 0.9977). This paper focuses on vehicle detection based on motion features in driving videos. Long-term motion information can assist in driving scenarios since driving is a complicated and dynamic process. The proposed method is a deep learning based model which processes motion frame image. This image merges both spatial (frame) and temporal (motion) information. Hence, the model jointly detects vehicles and their motion from a single image. The trained model on Toyota Motor Europe Motorway Dataset reaches 83% mean average precision (mAP). ECC is a popular cryptographic algorithm for key distribution in wireless sensor networks where power efficiency is desirable. A power efficient implementation of ECC without using hardware multiplier support was proposed earlier for wireless sensor nodes. Most of the web applications require security which in turn requires random numbers. Pseudo-random numbers are required with good statistical properties and efficiency. Use of chaotic map to dynamically perturb another chaotic map that generates the random bit output is introduced in this work. Perturbance is introduced to improvise the chaotic behaviour of a base map and increase the periodicity. PRNG with this architecture is devised to generate random bit sequence from initial keyspace. This study extends our initial efforts in building an English-Turkish parallel treebank corpus for statistical machine translation tasks. We manually generated parallel trees for about 17K sentences selected from the Penn Treebank corpus. English sentences vary in length: 15 to 50 tokens including punctuation. We constrained the translation of trees by (i) reordering of leaf nodes based on suffixation rules in Turkish, and (ii) gloss replacement. We aim to mimic human annotator?s behavior in real translation task. In order to fill the morphological and syntactic gap between languages, we do morphological annotation and disambiguation.
