Chaos And Its Control In Semiconductor Laser With Delayed Negative Optoelectronic Feedback, Guang-Yu Jiang, Juan Zhang, Yan Huang
Chaos And Its Control In Semiconductor Laser With Delayed Negative Optoelectronic Feedback, Guang-Yu Jiang, Juan Zhang, Yan Huang
Turkish Journal of Physics
We reveal theoretically chaos and its control in a semiconductor laser with delayed negative optoelectronic feedback. Under nonperiodic or sinusoidal period optoelectronic current, the semiconductor laser exhibits rich nonlinear dynamics. For a given coupling constant, chaos is shown in a semiconductor laser directly injected by external light. For a photoelectric delayed negative-feedback scheme with sinusoidal period optoelectronic current, the laser can be controlled in single-periodic, dual-periodic, multi-periodic states, and even chaos. The results also illustrate what we think to be a new method to generate various period states in the chaos system.

Effect Of Microwave Sintering On Grain Size And Dielectric Properties Of Barium Titanate, Praveena Kuruva, Uma Maheshwara Singh Rajaputra, Srinath Sanyadanam, Ramana Murthy Sarabu
Turkish Journal of Physics
In the present paper, nanosized barium titanate (BaTiO_3) powders were synthesized by microwave hydrothermal method. The structural characterization of as-prepared powders was investigated using X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The particle size was estimated using a transmission electron microscope. The nanopowders were sintered at different temperatures using a microwave furnace, followed by characterizations such as X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The dielectric constant behavior was observed as a function of frequency (100 Hz to 1 MHz) and temperature. The ferroelectric nature was confirmed from polarization-electric field loops.

Vacuum Properties Of Tarla, Hüsnü Aksakal, Ertan Arikan, Zafer Nergi̇z
Turkish Journal of Physics
The Turkish Accelerator and Radiation Laboratory at Ankara (TARLA) is a part of the Turkish Accelerator Center project, which was designed to produce an infrared free electron laser in the wavelength band of 2-250 mu m. The beamline of TARLA consists of 4 major sections: injector, beam transport line with linacs, optical cavities, and dump. All system components must be kept under ultrahigh vacuum standards to prevent beam scattering with residual gas. In the present study, the vacuum requirements of the beamline are defined and simulation vacuum and gas flow in the accelerator are presented.

Level Structure Of ^{210}Po By Means Of Surface Delta Interaction, Ali Khalaf Hasan, Abdul Ridha Hussain Subber
Turkish Journal of Physics
Within the framework of the shell model, we consider the residual interaction to be a surface delta interaction. This interaction has been applied in the calculation of the energy levels of ^{210}Po, which belong to N = 126 magic closed shell nuclei. The pure and the configuration mixings are applied in the calculations of matrix elements. The predicted energy levels are compared with experimental data.

Identification Of Spontaneous Fission Fragments By Using Thermally Annealed Padc Films, Abdallah F. Saad, Nama Abdelssadk Hamed, Yasin Kailani Abdalla
Turkish Journal of Physics
One of main requirements in applied nuclear physics is the need of a detector capable of detecting and differentiating different particles. Thus, the fission products from a ^{252}Cf radioactive source, after about 12 half-life periods of alpha decay, are registered using virgin and annealed CR-39 polyallyldiglycol carbonate (PADC) films. In the case of virgin CR-39, a single peak appears corresponding to the heavy group of these products, while the other peak related to the light group is obscured. The annealed CR-39 detectors, on the other hand, were demonstrated to be highly sensitive to the fission fragments, and as a result …

Effects Of The Different Types Of Nuclear Radiations On The Optically Stimulated Luminescence, Ayşe Güneş Tanir, Mustafa Hi̇cabi̇ Bölükdemi̇r, Tülay Neşe Kizilirmak
Turkish Journal of Physics
This study aims to investigate the effects of different nuclear radiation fields on an optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dosimeter using Al_2O_3:C material. The Al_2O_3:C material was exposed to alpha- and beta-particles and gamma-photons, and the luminescence signals were measured by stimulation with a blue light emitting diode. It is concluded that the OSL technique is suitable for obtaining an adequate blue light stimulated luminescence signal in alpha, beta, and gamma radiation fields, and if the source activity was low, the statistical distributions were large.
Magnetic Wiggler-Assisted Third-Harmonic Generation Of A Gaussian Laser Pulse In Plasma, Hirdesh Sharma, Harsha Jaloree, Jetendra Parashar
Magnetic Wiggler-Assisted Third-Harmonic Generation Of A Gaussian Laser Pulse In Plasma, Hirdesh Sharma, Harsha Jaloree, Jetendra Parashar
Turkish Journal of Physics
A Gaussian laser pulse propagating through plasma in the presence of a magnetic wiggler produces third-harmonic radiation. The wiggler's magnetic field provides additional momentum required for phase matching. The required wiggler wave number is sensitive to pulse duration and amplitude. The efficiency of the process is significant at the instant at which the phase matching condition is satisfied.

Analysis Of Amplitude And Slope Diffraction Coefficients, Mehmet Bariş Tabakcioğlu, Ahmet Cansiz
Turkish Journal of Physics
The diffraction mechanism is used for field prediction in both light and shadowed regions. Slope and amplitude diffraction coefficients are vital to predict the field strength at the receiver accurately. In this paper, amplitude and slope diffraction coefficients for one of the ray theoretical models, the slope uniform theory of diffraction with convex hull (S-UTD-CH) model, are analyzed. Moreover, diffraction coefficients are given for knife-edge and wedge structures.

Exact Solution Of Frw Perfect Fluid Model Interacting With Zero-Rest-Mass Scalar Field And Electromagnetic Field In B-D Theory, Kangujam Priyokumar Singh, Chungkham Gokulchandra Singh
Turkish Journal of Physics
Considering a spherically symmetric nonstatic cosmological flat model of the Robertson-Walker universe, the problem of perfect fluid distribution interacting with the gravitational field in the presence of a zero-rest-mass scalar field and electromagnetic field in Brans-Dicke (B-D) theory has been investigated. Exact solutions are obtained by using a general approach of solving the partial differential equations and it has been observed that the electromagnetic field cannot survive the cosmological flat model due to the action caused by the presence of the zero-rest-mass scalar field, and the isotropic pressure p turns out to be negative. The pressure and density are found …

A Nonlocal Parabolic Problem In An Annulus For The Heaviside Function In Ohmic Heating, Fei Liang, Hongjun Gao, Charles Bu
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, we consider the nonlocal parabolic equation u_t=\Delta u+\frac{\lambda H(1-u)}{\big(\int_{A_{\rho, R}} H(1-u)dx\big)^2}, x\in A_{\rho, R} \subset R^2, t>0, with a homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition, where \lambda is a positive parameter, H is the Heaviside function and A_{\rho, R} is an annulus. It is shown for the radial symmetric case that: there exist two critical values \lambda_* and \lambda^*, so that for 0

A Variation Of Supplemented Modules, Gökhan Bi̇lhan, Ayşe Tugba Güroğlu
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Over a general ring, an R-module is w-supplemented if and only if amply w-supplemented. It is proved that over a local Dedekind domain, all modules are w-supplemented and over a non-local Dedekind domain, an R-module M is w-supplemented if and only if Soc(M)\ll M or M=S_0 \oplus (\bigoplus_{i \in I} K), where S_0 is a torsion, semisimple submodule of M and K is the field of quotients of R.

Structure Theorems For Rings Under Certain Coactions Of A Hopf Algebra, Gaetana Restuccia, Rosanna Utano
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Let \{D_1,..., D_n\} be a system of derivations of a k-algebra A, k a field of characteristic p > 0, defined by a coaction \delta of the Hopf algebra H_c = k[X_1,..., X_n]/(X_1^p,..., X_n^p), c \in \{0,1\}, the Lie Hopf algebra of the additive group and the multiplicative group on A, respectively. If there exist x_1, \dots, x_n \in A, with the Jacobian matrix (D_i(x_j)) invertible, [D_i,D_j] = 0, D_i^p = cD_i, c \in \{0, 1\}, 1 \leq i, j \leq n, we obtain elements y_1,..., y_n \in A, such that D_i(y_j) = \delta_{ij}(1 + cy_i), using properties of H_c-Galois extensions. …

The Cyclic Behavior Of The Constrictive Markov Operators, César Emilio Villarreal Rodríguez
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Let S be a Polish space, and let M_{\varSigma} be the Banach space of finite signed measures on the Borel \Sigma-algebra \varSigma of S. Given a constrictive Markov operator T:M_{\varSigma}\rightarrow M_{\varSigma}, we use the asymptotic periodic decomposition of T to determine the set of T-invariant distributions in M_{\varSigma} and the set of T-ergodic distributions. We also give the relationship between the asymptotic periodic decomposition and the cycles of the process relative to the operator T.

Nzi Rings, Long Wang, Junchao Wei, Libin Li
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
A ring R is called NZI if for any a \in R, l(a) is an N-ideal of R. In this paper, we first study some basic properties and basic extensions of NZI rings. Next, we study the strong regularity of NZI rings and obtain the following results: (1) Let R be a left SF-ring. Then R is a strongly regular ring if and only if R is an NZI ring; (2) If R is an NZI left MC2 ring and every simple singular left R-module is nil-injective, then R is reduced; (3) Let R be an NZI ring. Then R …

On The Minkowski Measurability Of Self-Similar Fractals In R^D, Ali̇ Deni̇z, Mehmet Şahi̇n Koçak, Yunus Özdemi̇r, Andrei̇ Rati̇u, Adem Ersi̇n Üreyen
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
The question of Minkowski measurability of fractals is investigated for different situations by various authors, notably by M. Lapidus. In dimension one it is known that the attractor of an IFS consisting of similitudes (and satisfying a certain open set condition) is Minkowski measurable if and only if the IFS is of non-lattice type and it was conjectured that this would be true also in higher dimensions. Half of this conjecture was proved by Gatzouras in 2000, who showed that the attractor of an IFS (satisfying the open set condition) is Minkowski measurable if the IFS is of non-lattice type. …

An Exhaustive Computer Search For Finding New Curves With Many Points Among Fibre Products Of Two Kummer Covers Over F_5 And F_7, Ferruh Özbudak, Burcu Gülmez Temür, Oğuz Yayla
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper we make an exhaustive computer search for finding new curves with many points among fibre products of 2 Kummer covers of the projective line over F_5 and F_7. At the end of the search, we have 12 records and 6 new entries for the current Table of Curves with Many Points. In particular, we observe that the fibre product y_1^3 = \frac{5(x + 2)(x + 5)}{x}, y_2^3 = \frac{3x^2(x + 5)}{x + 3} over F_7 has genus 7 with 36 rational points. As this coincides with the Ihara bound, we conclude that the maximum number N_7(7) of …

On The Krull Dimension Of Endo-Bounded Modules, Ahmad Haghany, Majid Mazrooei, Mohamad Reza Vedadi
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Modules in which every essential submodule contains an essential fully invariant submodule are called endo-bounded. Let M be a nonzero module over an arbitrary ring R and X = Spec_2(M_R), the set of all fully invariant L_2-prime submodules of M_R. If M_R is a quasi-projective L_2-Noetherian such that (M/P)_R is endo-bounded for any P \in X, then it is shown that the Krull dimension of M_R is at most the classical Krull dimension of the poset X. The equality of these dimensions and some applications are obtained for certain modules. This gives a generalization of a well-known result on right …

C.P. Modules And Their Applications, Qiongling Liu, Jianlong Chen
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Let R be a ring. A left R-module M is called a c.p. module if every cyclic submodule of M is projective. This notion is a generalization of left p.p. rings in the general module theoretic setting. The aim of this article is to investigate these modules. Some characterizations and properties are given. As applications, the connections among Baer rings, p.p. rings and von Neumann regular rings are studied.

Scalar Curvature And Symmetry Properties Of Lightlike Submanifolds}, Cyriaque Atindogbe, Oscar Lungiambudila, Joel Tossa
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, the induced Ricci tensor and the extrinsic scalar curvature on lightlike submanifolds are obtained. This scalar quantity extend the result given by C. Atindogbe in [1]. An example of extrinsic scalar curvature on one class of 2-degenerate manifolds is provided. We investigate lightlike submanifolds which are locally symmetric, semi-symmetric, Ricci semi-symmetric in indefinite spaces form. In the coisotropic case, we show that, under some conditions, these lightlike submanifolds are totally geodesic.

Gorenstein Transpose With Respect To A Semidualizing Bimodule, Zengfeng Liu, Xiaoguang Yan
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Let S and R be rings and _SC_R be a semidualizing bimodule. We first give the definitions of C-transpose and n-C-torsionfree and give a criterion for a module A to be G_C-projective by some property of the C-transpose of A. Then we introduce the notion of C-Gorenstein transpose of a module over two-sided Noetherian rings. We prove that a module M in \mod R^{op} is a C-Gorenstein transpose of a module A \in \mod S if and only if M can be embedded into a C-transpose of A with the cokernel G_C-projective. Finally we investigate some homological properties of the …

Blow-Up Phenomena For Nonlocal Inhomogeneous Diffusion Problems, Jianwen Sun, Feiying Yang
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
This paper is concerned with the blow-up of solutions to some nonlocal inhomogeneous dispersal equations subject to homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. We establish conditions on nonlinearities sufficient to guarantee that solutions exist for all time as well as blow up at some finite time. Moreover, lower bounds for blow-up time of nonlocal problems are obtained.

Algorithm To Solve Certain Ternary Quartic Diophantine Equations, Laszlo Szalay
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, we develop an algorithm to solve completely the Diophantine equation F(x,y)=z^2, where the quartic inhomogeneous polynomial F(x,y) with integer coefficients satisfies certain technical conditions. The procedure is an extension of the version of Runge's method given by Poulakis.
