Prediction Of The Pressure-Induced Phase Transition In Gaas By The Positron Affinity, Belabbes Soudini Jan 2009

Prediction Of The Pressure-Induced Phase Transition In Gaas By The Positron Affinity, Belabbes Soudini

Turkish Journal of Physics

The thermalized positron charge distribution is calculated as a function of pressure variation in GaAs. Calculations have been carried out via the independent particle method (IPM) coupled with the empirical pseudopotential method (EPM). Initial results show a clear asymmetrical positron charge distribution relative to the bond center. From this positron affinity we have calculated the ionicity character with respect to the pressure variation using our empirical formula. Our results show an agreement with the thermochemical phase diagram proposed by Phillips.

Spectroscopic Studies And Hartree-Fock Ab Initio Calculations Of A Substituted Amide Of Pyrazine-2-Carboxylic Acid - C_{16}H_{18}Cln_3o, Chacko Yohannan Panicker, Hema Tresa Vanghese, Thaha Thansani

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A substituted amide of pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid was prepared and the IR spectrum was recorded and analysed. The compound prepared was identified by NMR and mass spectra. The vibrational frequencies of the title compound were computed using the Hartree-Fock level of theory using the 6-31G* basis set and compared with the experimental data. The red shift of the NH stretching frequency indicates weakening of the NH bond. The splitting of the NH stretching bond is due to Davidov coupling between neighbouring units. The first hyperpolarizability, infrared intensities, and Raman activities are reported. Methyl substitution affects all the carbon-nitrogen and carbon-carbon bond …

The various physical and geometrical aspects of both the models are also discussed. The effect of the magnetic field on the model is also discussed.

Effect Of A Wiggler Magnetic Field And The Ponderomotive Force On The Second Harmonic Generation In Laser-Plasma Interactions, Hassan Ranjbar Askari, Maryam Noroozi Jan 2009

Effect Of A Wiggler Magnetic Field And The Ponderomotive Force On The Second Harmonic Generation In Laser-Plasma Interactions, Hassan Ranjbar Askari, Maryam Noroozi

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this paper, we consider second harmonic generation and its phase-matching in an underdense plasma in the presence of a wiggler magnetic field. Wiggler magnetic field plays both a dynamic role in producing the traverse harmonic current and a kinematical role in ensuring phase-matching. The inertial ponderomotive force \rho (\vec{u} . \vec \nabla) \vec{u} is a source of harmonic generation. \vec{u} beats with itself to produce a different harmonic. The inertial ponderomotive force can also affect the efficiency of second harmonic generation; and its effect on second harmonic generation is also considered.

First-Principles Study Of Cubic B_Xin_{1-X}N Alloys, Abdelhadi Lachebi, Mohamed Sehil, Hamza Abid Jan 2009

First-Principles Study Of Cubic B_Xin_{1-X}N Alloys, Abdelhadi Lachebi, Mohamed Sehil, Hamza Abid

Turkish Journal of Physics

The first ab-initio calculations were carried out for the electronic and structural properties of BInN boron ternary alloys. The full potential linearized augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW) method was employed within density functional theory (DFT). We have investigated the lattice parameters and band gap energies. The lattice constant a exhibits a small downward bowing. The calculated band gap variation gives a small bowing in good agreement with the experimental reports. We notice a direct to indirect band gap crossover at x = 0.83.

Signature Splitting And Signature Inversion Of Rotational Bands In Odd-Odd Nuclei In Rare-Earth Region, Manal Mahmoud Sirag Jan 2009

Signature Splitting And Signature Inversion Of Rotational Bands In Odd-Odd Nuclei In Rare-Earth Region, Manal Mahmoud Sirag

Turkish Journal of Physics

Anomalous signature splitting and signature inversion for the configuration \pi h_{11/2} \otimes \nu i_{13/2} in rotational bands of odd-odd nuclei have been studied using the energy staggering index S(I) as a function of spin I. The unfavored signature index was found lying lower than the favored one. A systematic look at the features of this signature inversion in a series of nine lighter rare earth nuclei in the region around A \sim 160 (Z~=~65-75, N~=~89-101) are presented. The analysis reveals an anomalous signature splitting for this configuration. The magnitude of signature splitting at low spins decreases as the proton number …

First-Principles Calculations Of Structural, Electronic And Optical Properties Of Zinc-Blende Si_X Ge_{1-X} C Alloys, Ahmed Djedid, Boucif Abbar, Oukacha Abbes

Turkish Journal of Physics

We present first-principles calculations of the structural, electronic and optical properties of zinc-blende Si_x Ge_{1-x} C alloys by application of the full potential linearized augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW) method. In this approach, the generalized gradient approximation was used for the exchange-correlation energy which is based on the optimization of total energy and corresponding potential. The effect of composition on lattice constants, bulk modulus, band gap, real part of the dielectric function \varepsilon \left(0 \right) and refractive index n(0) was investigated. These parameters were found to depend nonlinearly on alloy composition x, except the bulk modulus and the lattice parameter, which …

On Some Properties Of The Neutrino In The Early Universe, S. Mani, A. Sagari, B. Chakrabarti, A. Bhattacharya

Turkish Journal of Physics

Properties of the neutrino in the early universe have been investigated incorporating a small inhomogeneity in the mass density of the early universe. Dependence on this factor is found in studying mean free path and mass bound of neutrinos. The mass bound of neutrino is found to be in the range between 14 MeV and 76 MeV corresponding to the radiation and matter dominated eras respectively. The oscillation length for neutrinos have been estimated to be 86 km for beam energy 2.754 MeV and 220 km for beam energy 7 MeV.

Thermodynamic Properties Of Quasi-Equilibrium Magnons In Crystalline Bulk Materials And Thin Films, Ahmed Sayed Hassan, A. M. El-Badry

Turkish Journal of Physics

The temperature dependence of spontaneous magnetization and specific heat for a system of magnons are investigated systematically. The correspondence of this system with the Bose-Einstein condensation phenomenon is used. Calculations are performed for both crystalline bulk materials and thin films. The calculated results are consistent with the available experimental data, indicating that our suggested approach is a suitable one for describing the thermodynamic properties for the magnon system. The thermodynamical parameters for magnons system have many similarities with the thermodynamical parameters for boson atomic gas. Results for crystalline bulk material can be used as a zeroth order approximation in any …

Multiple Positive Solutions For Nonlinear Third-Order Boundary Value Problems In Banach Spaces, Feng Wang, Hai-Hua Lu, Fang Zhang

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

This paper deals with the positive solutions of nonlinear boundary value problems in Banach spaces. By using fixed point index theory, some sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one or two positive solutions to boundary value problems in Banach spaces are obtained. An example illustrating the main results is given.

Strong Convergence Theorems By An Extragradient Method For Solving Variational Inequalities And Equilibrium Problems In A Hilbert Space, Poom Kumam Jan 2009

Strong Convergence Theorems By An Extragradient Method For Solving Variational Inequalities And Equilibrium Problems In A Hilbert Space, Poom Kumam

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this paper, we introduce an iterative process for finding the common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping, the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for monotone, Lipschitz-continuous mappings. The iterative process is based on the so-called extragradient method. We show that the sequence converges strongly to a common element of the above three sets under some parametric controlling conditions. This main theorem extends a recent result of Yao, Liou and Yao [Y. Yao, Y. C. Liou and J.-C. Yao, ''An Extragradient Method for Fixed …

Modified Szász-Mirakjan-Kantorovich Operators Preserving Linear Functions, Oktay Duman, Mehmet Ali̇ Özarslan, Biancamaria Della Vecchia

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this paper, we introduce a modification of the Szász-Mirakjan-Kantorovich operators, which preserve the linear functions. This type of operator modification enables better error estimation on the interval [1/2,+\infty) than the classical Szász-Mirakjan-Kantorovich operators. We also obtain a Voronovskaya-type theorem for these operators.

Some Properties Of Gr-Multiplication Ideals, Hani Khashan

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this paper, we study some of the properties of gr-multiplication ideals in a graded ring R. We first characterize finitely generated gr-multiplication ideals and then give a characterization of gr-multiplication ideals by using the gr-localization of R. Finally we determine the set of gr-P-primary ideals of R when P is a gr-multiplication gr-prime ideal of R.

Strong Differential Subordination, Georgia Irina Oros, Gheorghe Oros Jan 2009

Strong Differential Subordination, Georgia Irina Oros, Gheorghe Oros

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

The concept of differential subordination was introduced in [4] by S. S. Miller and P. T. Mocanu and the concept of strong differential subordination was introduced in [1] by J. A. Antonino and S. Romaguera. This last concept was applied in the special case of Briot-Bouquet strong differential subordination. In this paper we study the strong differential subordinations in the general case, following the general theory of differential subordinations presented in [4].

On The Geometry Of Null Curves In The Minkowski 4-Space, Recep Aslaner, A. İhsan Boran

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this paper, we study the basic results on the general study of null curves in the Minkowski 4-space R_1^4. A transversal vector bundle of a null curve in R_1^4 is constructed using a frenet Frame consisting of two real null and two space-like vectors. The null curves are characterized by using the Frenet frame.

As an application we show that every contact three manifold (closed or with convex boundary) can be obtained by gluing tight contact handlebodies whose EH-classes are nontrivial.

Uniqueness For Meromorphic Functions And Differential Polynomials, Chao Meng Jan 2009

Uniqueness For Meromorphic Functions And Differential Polynomials, Chao Meng

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this article, we deal with the uniqueness problems on meromorphic functions concerning differential polynomials and prove the following result: Let f and g be two transcendental meromorphic functions, \alpha be a meromorphic function such that T(r,\alpha)=o(T(r,f)+T(r,g)) and \alpha \not\equiv 0,\infty. Let a be a nonzero constant. Suppose that m,n are positive integers such that n>m+10. If \Psi_f' and \Psi_g' share ``(0,2)", then (i) if m\geq 2, then f(z)\equiv g(z); (ii) if m=1, either f(z)\equiv g(z) or f and g satisfy the algebraic equation R(f,g)\equiv 0, where R(\varpi_1,\varpi_2)=(n+1)(\varpi_1^{n+2}-\varpi_2^{n+2})-(n+2)(\varpi_1^{n+1} -\varpi_2^{n+1}). The results in this paper improve the results of Xiong-Lin-Mori …
