General Formulation Of The Scattered Matter Waves By A Quantum Shutter, Yusuf Zi̇ya Umul Jan 2009

General Formulation Of The Scattered Matter Waves By A Quantum Shutter, Yusuf Zi̇ya Umul

Turkish Journal of Physics

The scattering process of matter waves by a quantum shutter is investigated by using the spectrum integral representation. The scattered fields are expressed in terms of the Fresnel function. It is shown that the obtained equation gives the Moshinsky function for a one dimensional problem of the plane wave. Also a general integral representation is derived for two dimensional problems. The scattering of matter waves for some special wave-packets are examined analytically and numerically.

Energy Levels Of The 6p_{3/2}Ns, Nd, Ng Autoionizing Series Of Pb I, Chao Zhou, Liang Liang, Ling Zhang

Turkish Journal of Physics

Based on the weakest bound electron potential model (WBEPM) theory, six energy levels of the autoionizing Rydberg series 6pns 3/2[3/2]_1 (n = 15-25), 6pns 3/2[3/2]_2 (n = 15-25), 6pnd 3/2[3/2]_1 (n = 13-25), 6pnd 3/2[5/2]_3 (n = 13-25), 6pnd 3/2[7/2]_3 (n = 14-25) and 6png 3/2[5/2]_2 (n = 5-25) of Pb I are calculated. Foreign level perturbation corrections are taken into account in calculations of four series among them. The theoretical calculated results are in good agreement with the known experimental data, and some energies without experimental values are predicted.

Effective Annealing Of Zno Thin Films Grown By Electrochemical Deposition Technique, Cevdet Coşkun, Harun Güney, Emre Gür, Sebahatti̇n Tüzemen

Turkish Journal of Physics

Wide and direct band gap ZnO thin films have been grown on conductive indium-tin-oxide (ITO) substrates by electrochemical deposition (ECD) technique using different growth parameters. High quality films in terms of crystallographic and optical characteristics have been obtained under a cathodic potential of -0.9 V; a pH of 5.2, using 0.1 M Zn(NO_3)_2 solution. Oxygen gas flow through the solution increased the growth rate and the quality of samples. Subsequent heat treatments at various temperatures for 30 minutes under dry N_2 gas flow show that the most suitable annealing temperature is 300 °C for these electrochemically deposited thin films on …

Turkish Journal of Physics

Phosphate glasses with various compositions of lithium oxide and indium oxide were synthesized by melt quenching technique. The glass forming ability parameter K_{gl} was characterized by differential thermal analysis. The electrical measurements for all the glass samples were carried out in the frequency range of 10 Hz to 10^{6} Hz and at a temperature range of 393-513 K by the Impedance spectroscopy. Frequency dependent conductivity follows the power law. The ac conductivity increases with temperature following the Arrhenius law. Master curve in the scaling analysis suggesting the temperature independent conduction relaxation mechanism.

Generation Of Ultrafast Bright And Dark Pulse On Silicon Chip With Integrated Mach-Zehnder Interferometer Configuration, Jianwei Wu, Fengguang Luo Jan 2009

Generation Of Ultrafast Bright And Dark Pulse On Silicon Chip With Integrated Mach-Zehnder Interferometer Configuration, Jianwei Wu, Fengguang Luo

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this paper we propose and simulate ultrafast femtosecond bright and dark pulses, obtained simultaneously at the same center wavelength, based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) waveguides in Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) configuration; the ultrafast pulsed pump is injected into one MZI's arm and a continuous wave component (CW) is divided equally into the two MZI arms. Numerical results show that properties of the generated bright and dark pulses are strongly dependent on the launching optical powers of both the pump pulse and CW carriers, and on the waveguide length.

Turkish Journal of Physics

This paper considers exact solutions of unsteady free convection flow with thermal radiation past a vertical porous plate with Newtonian heating. The technique of Laplace transform was employed in deriving the solutions to the governing flow and energy equations. A parametric study of all parameters involved was conducted, and a representative set of results showing the effect of the radiation parameter N, the ratio of uniform suction to characteristic velocity parameter R, and the free convection parameter Gr on the velocity and temperature are illustrated graphically. The skin friction or shear and heat flux are discussed quantitatively. It is evident …

Composition Dependent Of Dielectric Properties In Se_{100-X}Pb_X Glassy Alloys, Jyoti Sharma, Santosh Kumar

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this paper we report the composition dependent of dielectric properties in Se_{100-x}Pb_x (x = 0, 2, 4, 6 and 10) glassy alloys. The temperature and frequency dependence of the dielectric constants and the dielectric losses in the above glassy systems in the frequency range 1 kHz-5 MHz and temperature range 300-340 K have been measured. It has been found that dielectric constant and the dielectric loss both are highly dependent on frequency and temperature and also found to be increased with increasing concentration of Pb in pure amorphous Se. The results have been interpreted in terms of increase in …

Growth And Microindentation Analysis Of Pure And Doped Sb_2se_3 Crystals, K. A. Chandrasekharan, A. G. Kunjomana

Turkish Journal of Physics

Pure and doped antimony selenide (Sb_2Se_3, Sb_2Se_{2.8}Te_{0.2}, and Sb_2Se_{2.6}Te_{0.4}) crystals have been grown from melt by the Bridgman Stockbarger method. X-ray powder diffraction analysis was carried out to determine the lattice parameters of the grown samples. The morphology of cleavage planes was observed using SEM. Energy dispersive analysis by X-rays (EDAX) was done to find out the chemical composition of the grown samples. Correlation of microhardness with other mechanical characteristics such as toughness, brittleness, and yield strength, has been investigated. The effects of Te doping on the mechanical behaviour and energy gap were also studied on the cleavage faces.

Thermoelectric Power And Low-Field Electron Mobility In Al_Xga_{1-X}N Lattice-Matched To Gan, H. Arabshahi

Turkish Journal of Physics

The results of thermoelectric power and electron drift mobility in Al_xGa_{1-x}N lattice-matched to GaN are calculated for different temperatures, free-electron concentrations and compositions. The two-mode nature of the polar optic phonons is considered jointly with deformation potential acoustic, piezoelectric, alloy and ionized-impurity scattering. Band non-parabolicity, admixture of p functions, arbitrary degeneracy of the electron distribution and the screening effects of free carriers on the scattering probabilities are incorporated. The Boltzmann equation is solved by an iterative technique using the currently established values of the material parameters. The iterative results are in fair agreement with other recent calculations obtained using the …

Study Of Second-Class Currents Effects On Polarization Characteristics In Quasi-Elastic Neutrino (Anti-Neutrino) Scattering By Nuclei, Adamou Ousmane Manga, Almoustapha Aboubacar

Turkish Journal of Physics

The differential cross section of quasi-elastic neutrino scattering by nuclei is computed. The numerical analysis of energy dependence of the spin asymmetry, the angular electron-neutrino (e\nu) correlation and the charge asymmetry coefficients shows that the relative contribution of the second-class current (SCC) tensor form factor can reach some tens of percents in the case of particular values of final nuclei alignment and polarization.

Behavior Of Transition Amplitude And Evolution Of The Energy Of Quantum Kicked Rotator, Abdolrasoul Gharaati Jan 2009

Behavior Of Transition Amplitude And Evolution Of The Energy Of Quantum Kicked Rotator, Abdolrasoul Gharaati

Turkish Journal of Physics

I give certain analytical properties of quantum kicked rotators, both theoretic and observed from computation. I give an expression for the wave function between two successive impulses. An element of the transition matrix, the matrix that takes the wave function from one impulse to another, exponentially falls away from the main diagonal. The decay parameter is given for a few special cases of a periodic potential. Finally, the transition matrix is used to derive the time evolution of the energy for periodic cases and for fundamental resonances. The empirical expressions of Dorizzi et al. are compatible with our analytical results.

Heavy Ion Reactions Producing A Heavier Deformed Nucleus And Free Nucleons, Ahmed Osman Jan 2009

Heavy Ion Reactions Producing A Heavier Deformed Nucleus And Free Nucleons, Ahmed Osman

Turkish Journal of Physics

Carbon induced heavy ion reactions on the heavy ^{197}Au target are considered. The statistical scission model is used to calculate this fission process. In the present considered reactions, the process leads to the fragmentation of only one deformed heavy fragment and few nucleons. Angular distributions of the fission fragments are numerically calculated for different values of the incident energies in the range 64-104 MeV. The present theoretical calculations of the differential cross-sections are in good agreements with experimental data for the carbon incident energy 84 A MeV. The effective variance of this fission process is also calculated. The present numerically …

Cd_{1-X}Mn_Xs Dilute Magnetic Semiconductor: Application In Photoelectrochemical Cells, J. S. Dargad, L. P. Deshmukh

Turkish Journal of Physics

A new class of dilute magnetic semiconductor (DMS, CdMnS) thin film based photoelectrochemical cell is presented. DMS thin films are synthesized on both glass and stainless steel substrates using a chemical growth process. The preparation parameters, such as growth temperature, time, reaction pH, precursor concentrations, etc., were optimized to yield characteristically oriented films. The layer thickness was found to decrease with increase in Mn^{2+} concentration. Composition of the as-grown samples was determined by an EDS technique. The electrochemical cells were then formed out of these series of films as the active photoelectrodes, an electrolyte and a counter electrode. The cells …

Lebesgue-Stieltjes Measure On Time Scales, Asli Deni̇z, Ünal Ufuktepe Jan 2009

Lebesgue-Stieltjes Measure On Time Scales, Asli Deni̇z, Ünal Ufuktepe

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

The theory of time scales was introduced by Stefan Hilger in his Ph. D. thesis in 1988, supervised by Bernd Auldbach, in order to unify continuous and discrete analysis [5]. Measure theory on time scales was first constructed by Guseinov [4], then further studies were made by Guseinov-Bohner [1], Cabada-Vivero [2] and Rzezuchowski [6]. In this article, we adapt the concept of Lebesgue-Stieltjes measure to time scales. We define Lebesgue-Stieltjes \Delta and \nabla-measures and by using these measures, we define an integral adapted to time scales, specifically Lebesgue-Stieltjes \Delta-integral. We also establish the relation between Lebesgue-Stieltjes measure and Lebesgue-Stieltjes \Delta-measure, …

Korovkin Type Error Estimates For Positive Linear Operators Involving Some Special Functions, Ogün Doğru, Esra Erkuş-Duman Jan 2009

Korovkin Type Error Estimates For Positive Linear Operators Involving Some Special Functions, Ogün Doğru, Esra Erkuş-Duman

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In the present paper, we introduce a new sequence of linear positive operators with the help of generating functions. We obtain some Korovkin type approximation properties for these operators and compute rates of convergence by means of the first and second order modulus of continuities and Peetre´s K-functional. In order to obtain explicit expressions for the first and second moment of our operators, we obtain a functional differential equation including our operators. Furthermore, we deal with a modification of our operators converging to integral of function f on the interval (0,1).

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Motivated by [1], we study on \tau-lifting modules (rings) and \tau-semiperfect modules (rings) for a preradical \tau and give some equivalent conditions. We prove that; i) if M is a projective \tau-lifting module with \tau(M) \subseteq \delta(M), then M has the finite exchange property; ii) if R is a left hereditary ring and \tau is a left exact preradical, then every \tau-semiperfect module is \tau--lifting; iii) R is \tau-lifting if and only if every finitely generated free module is \tau-lifting if and only if every finitely generated projective module is \tau-lifting; iv) if \tau (R) \subseteq \delta (R), then R …

Applications Of The Golden Ratio On Riemannian Manifolds, Cristina-Elena Hretcanu, Mircea Craşmareanu Jan 2009

Applications Of The Golden Ratio On Riemannian Manifolds, Cristina-Elena Hretcanu, Mircea Craşmareanu

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

The Golden Ratio is a fascinating topic that continually generates new ideas. The main purpose of the present paper is to point out and find some applications of the Golden Ratio and of Fibonacci numbers in Differential Geometry. We study a structure defined on a class of Riemannian manifolds, called by us a Golden Structure. A Riemannian manifold endowed with a Golden Structure will be called a Golden Riemannian manifold. Precisely, we say that an (1,1)-tensor field \widetilde{P} on a m-dimensional Riemannian manifold (\widetilde{M}, \widetilde{g}) is a Golden Structure if it satisfies the equation \widetilde{P}^{2}=\widetilde{P}+I (which is similar to that …

Criteria Of Nilpotency And Influence Of Contranormal Subgroups On The Structure Of Infinite Groups, Leonid Andreevich Kurdachenko, Javier Otal, Igor Yakov Subbotin Jan 2009

Criteria Of Nilpotency And Influence Of Contranormal Subgroups On The Structure Of Infinite Groups, Leonid Andreevich Kurdachenko, Javier Otal, Igor Yakov Subbotin

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Following J.S. Rose, a subgroup H of a group G is called contranormal if G=H^G. In a certain sense, contranormal subgroups are antipodes to subnormal subgroups. It is well known that a finite group is nilpotent if and only if it has no proper contranormal subgroups. However, for infinite groups this criterion is not valid. There are examples of non-nilpotent infinite groups whose subgroups are subnormal; in particular, these groups have no contranormal subgroups. Nevertheless, for some classes of infinite groups, the absence of contranormal subgroups implies nilpotency of the group. The present article is devoted to the search of …
