Test 377: Massey-Harris Model 101-R, Nebraska Tractor Test Lab

Nebraska Tractor Tests

All tractors tested at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory were certified by their manufacturers as being stock model machines, conforming to specifications filed with the application for test. No special or high-test fuels were used except as recommended by the manufacturer as necessary.

All results within the official tractor test report were actually attained in tests and are without correction or allowances for friction, temperature, altitude, etc. The results were initially accomplished with the tractor in charge of skilled operators employed by the University.

Unless otherwise noted, each tractor was apparently in good condition at the end of the testing …

A New Species Of Sphenophalos From The Upper Ogallala Of Nebraska, Erwin Hinckley Barbour, C. Bertrand Schultz Jan 1941

A New Species Of Sphenophalos From The Upper Ogallala Of Nebraska, Erwin Hinckley Barbour, C. Bertrand Schultz

Bulletin of the University of Nebraska State Museum

The genus Sphenophalos was described by John C. Merriam (1909, p. 319-30), who based his description on a fragmentary horn-core (Uni. of Calif. No. 11887) from the late Tertiary deposits near Thousand Creek in northern Humbolt county, Nevada. Knowledge of Sphenophalos, however, is still confined to this single, fragmented type horn-core (Frick 1937, p. 472) and other fragmental specimens (Furlong 1932, p. 27-36).

Others were made at Dallas Dome, nine miles southeast of Lander, and at Squaw Canyon, the type section, about four miles west of Lander. The region is one of moderately high, but not mountainous relief. The elevation at Lander is about 5350 feet, Derby Dome being somewhat less and Squaw Canyon somewhat more. Since it is …
