A Determination Of The Aspartame Content In Select Diet Beverages, Jorge Ojeda
A Determination Of The Aspartame Content In Select Diet Beverages, Jorge Ojeda
Undergraduate Research Conference
Millions of dollars are spent every year on diet beverages and there has been much controversy on the contents in these beverages, mainly the artificial sweetener aspartame. It is known that aspartame is included in many diet beverages, but the actual amount of aspartame used is not listed in the nutritional facts or provided by the beverage manufacturers. For this reason, the aspartame content of various soft drinks, Coke Zero, Pepsi Max, Diet Pepsi, and Pepsi Next, was analyzed and compared to a calibration plot utilizing Diet Coke as a standard. Diet Coke was used due to the unavailablity of …
Turrent Configurations And Particle Paths, Zihao Lawrence Jian
Turrent Configurations And Particle Paths, Zihao Lawrence Jian
Undergraduate Research Conference
The research originated from the question of how many rows of soldiers or turrets could be placed and allow for all turrets to have a projectile path. We find the relationship between the safe radius for each turret/soldier and the number of rows for which each soldier will have a clear projectile path. As shown, we place turrets in a grid configuration in the Cartesian plane.

When I and my group mates started this project, we thought that professor salaries would average $70,000. We also thought that all the following would be significant and positive influences on salary: being male, a full time professor, having a doctorate, and the college taught in.

Kentucky Water Resources Annual Symposium
This panel will discuss a US EPA-funded research project intended to improve risk communication for post-incident decontamination and clearance activities associated with intentional contamination of a water system. The study incorporates two complementary methods conducted in successive phases. The recently-completed first phase included robust case study analyses of risk communication related to recent and significant contamination incidents. The second phase, which is currently underway, will identify ways in which disparate stakeholder groups in a metropolitan area differentially perceive risk and subsequent risk communication efforts.
