The rapid developments of technology which have brought with them a host of benefits to humanity have also left behind a host of spaces which have mostly aided cyber piracy who exploit the many benefits of the internet for purposes that are in their favor, but these actions which negatively affect the privacy of all internet users. In this project I will present some modifications which are enabled through the 16x16 square of Dionis with 256 elements based in the Masonic Cipher method, with the help of which based on the rules I have created and developed it is different from …
An Alternative Probabilistic Protocol For Relaying Wireless Networks, Faton Maliqi
An Alternative Probabilistic Protocol For Relaying Wireless Networks, Faton Maliqi
UBT International Conference
In this paper we propose an alternative probabilistic protocol for relaying wireless network. Usually, the communication protocols are designed to be deterministic when it comes to the order of retransmission from the communication nodes. In contrast, we propose an alternative probabilistic protocol where the retransmitting nodes are chosen probabilistically, and which allows easier performance optimization. Using Monte Carlo simulations, we will show at which location of the Relay do we get the best performance. Due to energy consuming concern and due to lower complexity advantage, as required in technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), we will consider the case …

The adaptation of company processes to the EU Regulation represents a major opportunity to review, update and improve the internal processes and management tools used. The loss of data, in most cases, causes serious damage to the image and very often the total closure of the company. The legislation therefore represents an opportunity and a stimulus to verify the management methods applied, to define an organizational model and a code of conduct (policies, processes, rules / provisions and controls) capable of improving internal processes, defining and achieving desired objectives, ensure data and systems protection with proper risk management and assessment. …
Constructing Hadamard Matrices Using Binary Codes, Hizer Leka, Faton Kabashi
Constructing Hadamard Matrices Using Binary Codes, Hizer Leka, Faton Kabashi
UBT International Conference
In this paper is presented a very efficient method for constructing Hadamard matrices, using binary code products. We will construct such matrices using the scalar production of two vectors and the tensor production of Hadamard matrices. This method is based on the representation of the natural number as a binary code which takes only two values 0 or 1. Such a method of generating Hadamard matrices can be used in practice to generate different codes, in telecommunication systems, to correct blocked codes, but also in science as for example in Boolean algebra.

The extensive use of internet is continuously drifting businesses to incorporate their services in the online environment. One of the first spectrums to embrace this evolution was the banking sector. In fact, the first known online banking service came in 1980. It was deployed from a community bank located in Knoxville, called the United American Bank. Since then, internet banking has been offering ease and efficiency to costumers in completing their daily banking tasks. The ever increasing use of internet banking and the large number of online transactions, increased fraudulent behaviour also. As if fraud increase wasn’t enough, the massive …

Performance Evaluation Of Non-Relational Data On Big Data Environments, Edmond Jajaga, Edi Hasaj
UBT International Conference
Big data management is a real challenge for traditional systems. The experimental evaluation is performed on measurement of performance of five different databases with an open non-relational dataset. It was structured and tested separately in each store, giving some advantages and limitations to them from a practical point of view. The results are drawn based on the throughput per number of users executed respectively. It was loaded and executed more than a million of records in each and every database. Following its semi-persistent model, Redis performed better than other databases.

Today’s modern applications are mostly designed around API’s. API’s are used for a variety of things such as passing data to another webservice reading data from a database etc. The problem with this is that not all the API’s are secure. Most of the today’s API’s are old and rely only on an authentication token where the user data often had to share their credentials with the application to enable such an API call on their behalf or string them, which is often hardcoded. We will focus on OAUTH 2.0 as new protocol in securing our API’s. This is a …

Psychological and social factors are known to influence blood pressure (BP) and risk of hypertension and associated cardiovascular diseases. To identify novel BP loci, we carried out genome-wide association meta-analyses of systolic, diastolic, pulse, and mean arterial BP, taking into account the interaction effects of genetic variants with three psychosocial factors: depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, and social support. Analyses were performed using a two-stage design in a sample of up to 128,894 adults from five ancestry groups. In the combined meta-analyses of stages 1 and 2, we identified 59 loci (p value < 5e−8), including nine novel BP loci. The novel associations were observed mostly with pulse pressure, with fewer observed with mean arterial pressure. Five novel loci were identified in African ancestry, and all but one showed patterns of interaction with at least one psychosocial factor. Functional annotation of the novel loci supports a major role for genes implicated in the immune response (PLCL2), synaptic function and neurotransmission (LIN7A …
Understanding Solar Wind Formation By Identifying The Origins Of In Situ Observations, Samantha Wallace
Understanding Solar Wind Formation By Identifying The Origins Of In Situ Observations, Samantha Wallace
Physics & Astronomy ETDs
Over the past century, significant progress has made on the subjects of two fundamental unresolved questions in Heliophysics, namely 1) how is the solar corona heated to multi-million-degree temperatures, and 2) how is the solar wind formed, from its origin, to its release and acceleration. While the two are in many ways intertwined, this dissertation focuses on the latter. Our current understanding of solar wind formation has developed largely through relating the general origins of the observed solar wind on global spatial scales to the corresponding observed speed at 1 au. However, we are now at a point where long-standing …

Systemic inequity concerning the social determinants of health has been known to affect morbidity and mortality for decades. Significant attention has focused on the individual-level demographic and co-morbid factors associated with rates and mortality of COVID-19. However, less attention has been given to the county-level social determinants of health that are the main drivers of health inequities. To identify the degree to which social determinants of health predict COVID-19 cumulative case rates at the county-level in Georgia, we performed a sequential, cross-sectional ecologic analysis using a diverse set of socioeconomic and demographic variables. Lasso regression was used to identify variables …
A Hybrid Agent-Based And Equation Based Model For The Spread Of Infectious Diseases, Elizabeth Hunter, Brian Mac Namee, John D. Kelleher
A Hybrid Agent-Based And Equation Based Model For The Spread Of Infectious Diseases, Elizabeth Hunter, Brian Mac Namee, John D. Kelleher
Articles
Both agent-based models and equation-based models can be used to model the spread of an infectious disease. Equation-based models have been shown to capture the overall dynamics of a disease outbreak while agent-based models are able to capture heterogeneous characteristics of agents that drive the spread of an outbreak. However, agent-based models are computationally intensive. To capture the advantages of both the equation-based and agent-based models, we create a hybrid model where the disease component of the hybrid model switches between agent-based and equation-based. The switch is determined using the number of agents infected. We first test the model at …

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have become increasingly useful in different applications since they were discovered in 1991 by Sumio Iijima [1]. One of their many useful qualities is their electronic properties [2]. These CNTs, when formed into a network, can be used as transistors [3] or biosensors [4]. Transistors are devices that regulate either current flow or voltage and act as a switch; they are a crucial component of computers. Biosensors detect the presence of biomolecules. Efficient transistors and biosensors already exist; however, they are expensive to manufacture compared to these CNT networks. The ability of the CNT networks to be …

Correlation Analysis Of Precipitation And River Flow With The Injection And Discharge Of The Three Gorges Dam And Reservoir, Lirong Yin
LSU Master's Theses
The Yangtze River has been the primary support of the resources and transportation of China. Its basin covers an area of 1.8 million square kilometers. The Three Gorges Dam and Reservoir on the Yangtze River is one of the world's largest dams. After the dam construction in 1997, the reservoir started injecting the reservoir to a size of over 600 km2. The influence caused by the dam and reservoir on the river system has been overwhelming and destructive. The possible influence of this vast water body and the operation to maintain this waterbody's size and water level on …
Mid-Infrared Studies Of Galactic Sources: Probing The Relationship Between Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons And Their Physical Environment, Collin Matthew Knight
Mid-Infrared Studies Of Galactic Sources: Probing The Relationship Between Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons And Their Physical Environment, Collin Matthew Knight
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
Over the past 50 years, prominent mid-infrared (MIR) emission features from 3--20 $\mu$m have been observed ubiquitously in the interstellar medium (ISM) of Galactic and extragalactic sources. These emission features arise from the vibrational relaxation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) after the absorption of a far-ultraviolet (FUV) photon. PAHs are astronomically significant in that they contain up to 15\% of the cosmic carbon inventory and play an important role in the physical and chemical processes of the ISM such as, for example, the gas heating and the ionization balance. Variations in the relative strengths of the major PAH bands can …
