A Taxonomy Of Cyberattacks Against Critical Infrastructure, Miloslava Plachkinova, Ace Vo
KSU Proceedings on Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice
The current study proposes a taxonomy to organize existing knowledge on cybercrimes against critical infrastructure such as power plants, water treatment facilities, dams, and nuclear facilities. Routine Activity Theory is used to inform a three-dimensional taxonomy with the following dimensions: hacker motivation (likely offender), cyber, physical, and cyber-physical components of any cyber-physical system (suitable target), and security (capable guardian). The focus of the study is to develop and evaluate the classification tool using Design Science Research (DSR) methodology. Publicly available data was used to evaluate the utility and usability of the proposed artifact by exploring three possible scenarios – Stuxnet, …

Software Automated Testing Using Bdd Approach With Cucumber Framework, Arbesë Musliu, Xhelal Jashari
UBT International Conference
Software testing is becoming essentially needed nowadays, but at the same time is becoming more complex and taking more resources. Software development using agile methodology helps us deliver a considered number of versions in a short amount of time. However, using these methodologies means that we have to repeatedly test each version by testing all functionalities, including the updated ones. This research paper will show the importance of Automation Testing using the Cucumber framework and behavior driven development (BDD) approach to test new features and maintain the previous ones. We will show the implementation of the Cucumber framework using Selenium …

Effect Of Water-Soluble Browning Products In Heated Herbages On Rumen Microorganisms, E. Touno, A. Takenaka, T. Kondo, O. Tanaka, M. Murai
IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)
When feed is heated, browning can occur. This browning is detrimental to both the value of feed and physiological functioning of the animal. Browning occurs when polymeric substances are produced during the Maillard reaction. Indigestible soluble Maillard reaction products could affect nitrogen utilization by ruminants. A method has been established for isolation of water-soluble browning products using a reversed phase column. In the present work, the effect of water-soluble browning products isolated from heated herbage on rumen microorganisms was investigated. A solution of browning products was added to the medium 10 to obtain final concentration of 0, 0.5 and 2.0 …

IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)
Palenque Plus and Ceres Torpedo are tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.) cultivars available to the animal production systems in the humid Pampean Region of Argentina. They differ in growth cycle and morphological characteristics. At vegetative stage, Torpedo leaves are fine and tender, which suggests that their percentages of slowly digestible and indigestible tissues (SDIT) should be low. In this study we 1) explored the effects of phenological stage and nitrogen fertilization on leaf blade tissue percentages of both cultivars, using an ordination multivariate technique, and 2) evaluated the effects of these factors on the percentage of SDIT. Our results …

In the modern world, cybersecurity is an important issue in the field of technology. The main security problem is the security of the data we receive on the server side after being sent by the client or by the sensors. Nowadays cybersecurity is seen as an area where software is more important than hardware and this led to an increase in the number of securities at the software level. By increasing security at the hardware level cyber security takes another dimension. Network infrastructure devices serve for the realization of communication of applications, data, services and multi-media. These devices include firewalls, …

Synthesis Of Alkylthio Benzene Derivatives Via Simultaneous Diazotization And Nucleophilic Displacement, Abraham Alvarado, Juan D. Deleija, Jose J. Gutierrez
Chemistry Faculty Publications and Presentations
Alkylthio benzene derivatives were effectively synthesized by simultaneous diazotization of aromatic amines and nucleophilic displacement. The method is fairly general and proceeds in moderate yields. Product yields were comparable regardless of steric hindrance of the thiol or of the functional group present in the starting material. The newly developed procedure allowed for the incorporation of a tertiary alkylthio group, which cannot be easily introduced otherwise. The products were characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR.

Boron Fertilization Effects On Nutritive Parameters Of Alfalfa, F. M. Rouquette Jr., V. A. Haby, J. O. Fritz, M. Collins
IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)
With early pre-plant incorporation of limestone to raise soil pH to 6.8 to 7.0, alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) may be grown successfully on acid, Coastal Plain, sandy loam soils. Fertility and forage quality for hay and/or grazing require alternative management of alfalfa on these Coastal Plain soils. A two-year experiment evaluated alfalfa fertilized with three rates of boron to quantify effects on nutritive entities, especially fiber components. On a whole-plant basis in year 1, only crude protein was increased (P < .05) at one of six harvest dates. In year 2, chemical analyses of leaf-stem components indicated consistent increases in crude protein of leaf fractions at each harvest (P < .05), reduction in neutral detergent fiber at three harvest dates (P < .06), and reduced lignin (P < .07) at the final harvest. Stem sections were affected by rate of boron at only the June harvest with an increase in crude protein (P < .05). Rate of boron fertilization had indirect effects on nutritive value (crude protein) by either delaying physiological maturity or enhancing nitrogen fixation in leaves, and had a direct negative effect on certain fiber components.

A Method Of Presenting Experimental Dependencies In Solving Inverse Problems, Anatoliy Fyodorovich Verlan, Miraziz Vorisovich Sagatov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
Scientific interest in the creation, research and application of methods and means for solving inverse problems is determined by the need for the development of new methods of signal processing, as well as the increased complexity of inverse problems in relation to direct problems, since the latter are not correct from a mathematical point of view and have a number of peculiarities. Since the input information in inverse problems is experimental data determined with a certain error, the resulting solution can differ greatly from the exact solution. An arbitrary discretely given function of time can be approximated with a predetermined …

Formal Oscillatory Distributions, Alexander Karabegov
Mathematics
The formal asymptotic expansion of an oscillatory in- tegral whose phase function has one nondegenerate critical point is a formal distribution supported at the critical point which is applied to the amplitude. This formal distribution is called a formal oscillatory integral (FOI). We introduce the notion of a formal oscillatory distribution supported at a point. We prove that a formal distribution is given by some FOI if and only if it is an oscillatory distribution that has a certain nondegeneracy property. We also prove that a star product ? on a Poisson manifold M is natural in the sense of …

Resampling And Super-Resolution Of Hexagonally Sampled Images Using Deep Learning, Dylan Flaute, Russell C. Hardie, Hamed Elwarfalli
Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Publications
Super-resolution (SR) aims to increase the resolution of imagery. Applications include security, medical imaging, and object recognition. We propose a deep learning-based SR system that takes a hexagonally sampled low-resolution image as an input and generates a rectangularly sampled SR image as an output. For training and testing, we use a realistic observation model that includes optical degradation from diffraction and sensor degradation from detector integration. Our SR approach first uses non-uniform interpolation to partially upsample the observed hexagonal imagery and convert it to a rectangular grid. We then leverage a state-of-the-art convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture designed for SR …

Understanding Hyperporphyrin Spectra: Tddft Calculations On Diprotonated Tetrakis(-Aminophenyl)Porphyrin., Jeanet Conradie, Carl C. Wamser, Abhik Ghosh
Chemistry Faculty Publications and Presentations
A detailed TDDFT study (with all-electron STO-TZ2P basis sets and the COSMO solvation model) has been carried out on the effect of diprotonation on the UV-vis-NIR spectra of free-base tetraphenylporphyrin and tetrakis(-aminophenyl)porphyrin. The diprotonated forms have been modeled as their bis-formate complexes, i.e., as so-called porphyrin diacids. The dramatic redshift of the Q-band of the TAPP diacid has been explained in terms of an elevated "a" HOMO and lowered LUMOs, both reflecting infusion of aminophenyl character into the otherwise classic Gouterman-type frontier MOs. The exercise has also yielded valuable information on the performance of different exchange-correlation functionals. Thus, the hybrid …
