Ufuzzer: Lightweight Detection Of Php-Based Unrestricted File Upload Vulnerabilities Via Static-Fuzzing Co-Analysis, Jin Huang, Junjie Zhang, Jialun Liu, Chuang Li
Computer Science and Engineering Faculty Publications
Unrestricted file upload vulnerabilities enable attackers to upload malicious scripts to a web server for later execution. We have built a system, namely UFuzzer, to effectively and automatically detect such vulnerabilities in PHP-based server-side web programs. Different from existing detection methods that use either static program analysis or fuzzing, UFuzzer integrates both (i.e., static-fuzzing co-analysis). Specifically, it leverages static program analysis to generate executable code templates that compactly and effectively summarize the vulnerability-relevant semantics of a server-side web application. UFuzzer then “fuzzes” these templates in a local, native PHP runtime environment for vulnerability detection. Compared to static-analysis-based methods, UFuzzer preserves …

Cubic Spline Interpolation For Data Infections Of Covid-19 Pandemic In Iraq, Jehan Mohammed Al-Ameri
Al-Qadisiyah Journal of Pure Science
In this paper, we use an empirical equation and cubic spline interpolation to fit Covid-19 data available for accumulated infections and deaths in Iraq. For Scientific visualization of data interpretation, it is useful to use interpolation methods for purposes fitting by data interpolation. The data used is from 3 January 2020 to 21 January 2021 in order to obtain graphs to analysing the rate of increasing the pandemic and then obtain predicted values for the data infections and deaths in that period of time. Stochastic fit to the data of daily infections and deaths of Covid-19 is also discussed and …

Bayesian Estimation For Cox Ingersoll Ross Process, Muhannad F. Al-Saadony, Reyam Abo-Alhell
Al-Qadisiyah Journal of Pure Science
the model of term structure of interest rates are consider the most significant and computationally difficult portion of the modern finance due to a relative complexity of using techniques. This article concerns the Bayesian estimation of interest rate models. Assume the short term interest rate follows the Cox Ingersoll Ross (CIR) process , this process has several feature. In particular mean reverting and the other feature is remanis non- negative , so this is what distinguishes it from previous models. It is implement in the R programing.

Bayesian Variable Selection For Semiparametric Logistic Regression, Zainab Sami, Taha Alshaybawee
Al-Qadisiyah Journal of Pure Science
Lasso variable selection is an attractive approach to improve the prediction accuracy. Bayesian lasso approach is suggested to estimate and select the important variables for single index logistic regression model. Laplace distribution is set as prior to the coefficients vector and prior to the unknown link function (Gaussian process). A hierarchical Bayesian lasso semiparametric logistic regression model is constructed and MCMC algorithm is adopted for posterior inference. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method BSLLR is through comparing it to three existing methods BLR, BPR and BBQR. Simulation examples and numerical data are to be considered. The results indicate …

Background: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a multifactorial disease, whose main stay of prevention and management is life-style modification which is difficult to attain. Combination of herbs have proven more efficacious in multi-targeted diseases, as compared to individual herbs owing to the "effect enhancing and side-effect neutralizing" properties of herbs, which forms the basis of polyherbal therapies This led us to review literature on the efficacy of herbal combinations in MetS.
Methods: Electronic search of literature was conducted by using Cinnahl, Pubmed central, Cochrane and Web of Science, whereas, Google scholar was used as secondary search tool. The key words used …

Initial Acoustoelastic Measurements In Olivine: Investigating The Effect Of Stress On P- And S-Wave Velocities, Taryn K. Traylor, Pamela C. Burnley, M. L. Whitaker
Geoscience Faculty Research
It is well known that elasticity is a key physical property in the determination of the structure and composition of the Earth and provides critical information for the interpretation of seismic data. This study investigates the stress-induced variation in elastic wave velocities, known as the acoustoelastic effect, in San Carlos olivine. A recently developed experimental ultrasonic acoustic system, the Directly Integrated Acoustic System Combined with Pressure Experiments (DIASCoPE), was used with the D-DIA multi-anvil apparatus to transmit ultrasonic sound waves and collect the reflections. We use the DIASCoPE to obtain longitudinal (P) and shear (S) elastic wave velocities from San …

Twenty tropical diseases have been listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) as Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). These tropical diseases are called “neglected” for three primary reasons: 1) These diseases are widespread worldwide among the economically weaker (neglected?) section of the society; 2) Although the total number of mortality, morbidity, disability, and health disparity caused annually by the NTDs is more than that attributed by the so-called elite diseases like cancer, diabetes, human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS), cardio- or neurological diseases but NTD patients do not receive comparable attention or treatment opportunities either from the governments or healthcare professionals …

Statistical Potentials For Rna-Protein Interactions Optimized By Cma-Es, Takayuki Kimura, Nobuaki Yasuo, Masakazu Sekijima, Brooke Lustig
Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity
Characterizing RNA-protein interactions remains an important endeavor, complicated by the difficulty in obtaining the relevant structures. Evaluating model structures via statistical potentials is in principle straight-forward and effective. However, given the relatively small size of the existing learning set of RNA-protein complexes optimization of such potentials continues to be problematic. Notably, interaction-based statistical potentials have problems in addressing large RNA-protein complexes. In this study, we adopted a novel strategy with covariance matrix adaptation (CMA-ES) to calculate statistical potentials, successfully identifying native docking poses.

We present a study of the relationships and environmental dependencies between stellar mass, star formation rate, and gas metallicity for more than 700 galaxies in groups up to redshift 0.35 from the Galaxy And Mass Assembly (GAMA) survey. To identify the main drivers, our sample was analysed as a function of group-centric distance, projected galaxy number density, and stellar mass. By using control samples of more than 16 000 star-forming field galaxies and volume-limited samples, we find that the highest enhancement in SFR (0.3 dex) occurs in galaxies with the lowest local density. In contrast to previous work, our data …

A Clash Of Cultures: The Struggle Of Native Americans To Participate In Traditional Ecological Knowledge And Western Science Under California’S Marine Life Protection Act, John W. Corbett, Ruthie A. Maloney
IdeaFest: Interdisciplinary Journal of Creative Works and Research from Cal Poly Humboldt
This article comprehensively details the culture clash that took place between Native Americans, the North Group Science Panel, and the Science Advisory Team (SAT) involved in the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA). In 1999, the California Legislature passed the Marine Life Protection Act to create a statewide, science-driven network of marine reserves along the 1,100 miles of the California coast. The MLPA was meant to protect marine areas from overharvesting, and an initiative was formed to create a state marine reserve system advised by regional science panels. The science panel, a public body, decided that Native Americans science was not …

Combined Use Of Data From Avian Surveys Along The Pacific Crest Trail With Biodiversity Repositories To Model Habitat Suitability Throughout Northern California, Holli N. Pruhsmeier, Michael C. Mcgrann, Jim Graham
IdeaFest: Interdisciplinary Journal of Creative Works and Research from Cal Poly Humboldt
Models that describe species distributions are valuable in guiding management decisions. We compared and combined two avian datasets during the 2010 breeding season in northern California, USA. These datasets were a large-scale avian diversity survey from McGrann and Furnas (2016; 2018) and combined data from Biological Information Serving Our Nation (BISON) and Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). Our objective was to compare the utility of these two datasets, that employ separate field protocols, to model habitat use for the Black-headed Grosbeak, Hairy Woodpecker, and Yellow-rumped Warbler, three common forest birds in our study area that occupy distinctive habitat types. We …

Extensive Livestock Production And Emerging Social Ethics For Animals, Bernard E. Rollin
Extensive Livestock Production And Emerging Social Ethics For Animals, Bernard E. Rollin
IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)
The last 50 years have witnessed a dazzling array of social ethical revolutions in Western society. Such moral movements as feminism, civil rights, environmentalism, affirmative action, consumer advocacy, homosexual rights, children’s rights, the student movement, antiwar activism, public rejection of biotechnology, have forever changed the way governments and public institutions comport themselves. And this is equally true for private enterprise; to be successful, businesses must be seen as operating solidly in harmony with changing and emerging social ethics. It is arguable that morally based boycotting of South African business was instrumental in bringing about the end of apartheid, and similar …
The Importance Of Animal Comfort For Animal Production In Intensive Grassland Systems, P. H. Hemsworth, J. L. Barnett
The Importance Of Animal Comfort For Animal Production In Intensive Grassland Systems, P. H. Hemsworth, J. L. Barnett
IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)
Animals utilise a wide range of regulatory systems to control the conditions within their bodies or homeostasis. These regulatory systems control for example, body temperature, nutritional state, water balance, social interactions and fear and these systems react to environmental and endogenous stimuli so as to correct or prevent displacements from the optimal range. The behavioural and physiological responses utilised by the animal are usually proportional to the challenge to homeostasis. The stress response commences with the central nervous system perceiving a potential challenge to homeostasis. Once the central nervous system perceives a threat, it develops a biological response or defence …

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of the environmental factors on the animal behaviour of grazing dairy cows, estimated through the THI (Temperature-Humidity Index) and the relationship with the daily milk production, quality of milk, consumption and the detection of zeal. The study was carried out in Azul , in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina and was developed from December 1999 to February 2000. The effect of the half shade was quantified based on the production in litres of milk/day, % protein, % fat and detection of zeal. In the period analyzed, the THI usually …
Dags In Sheep Grazing Temperate Pastures: Causes And Consequences Of Faecal Adhesion To Wool, Garry C. Waghorn
Dags In Sheep Grazing Temperate Pastures: Causes And Consequences Of Faecal Adhesion To Wool, Garry C. Waghorn
IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)
Dags are the accumulation of faeces on wool in the perianal (breech) region of sheep and are a common problem in sheep fed good quality ryegrass based pastures in New Zealand. Their removal, or prevention, is costly but the consequences of doing nothing are severe. There is a high correlation between dags and flystrike (development of maggots) on sheep with dags, and dags reduce fleece value, live-weight gain and reproductive performance. Information summarised here suggests a range of factors contribute to the incidence of dags: lush (high quality) feeds, high voluntary feed intakes, presence of parasites in the gastro-intestinal tract, …

Modeling living systems at the collective scale can be very challenging because the individual constituents can themselves be complex and the respective interactions between the constituents may not be fully understood. With the advent of high throughput experiments and in the age of big data, data-driven methods are on the rise to overcome these challenges. Although machine-learning approaches can help quantify correlations between the various players, they do not directly shed light on the underlying physical principles of such systems. Here, we present a data-driven method for obtaining the phase-space density of active matter systems such that the solution to …

A Study Of The Mammalian High Mobility Group Protein At-Hook 2 (Hmga2) And Its Interactions With Dna, Linjia Su
FIU Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The mammalian high-mobility-group protein AT-hook 2 (HMGA2) is a small DNA-binding protein and consists of three positively charged “AT-hooks” and a negatively charged C-terminal motif. It is a multifunctional nuclear protein linked to obesity, human height, stem cell youth, human intelligence, and tumorigenesis. Previous results showed that HMGA2 is a potential therapeutic target of anticancer and anti‐obesity drugs through inhibiting its DNA‐binding activities. Here a miniaturized, automated AlphaScreen ultra‐high‐throughput screening assay is developed to identify inhibitors targeting HMGA2‐DNA interactions. After screening the LOPAC1280 library, several compounds are identified that strongly inhibit HMGA2‐DNA interactions including suramin, a negatively charged antiparasitic drug. …

Combined Geochemical, Mineralogical, And Structural Investigation Of Auriferous Quartz Veins At The Vertigo Target, White Gold District, West-Central Yukon Territory, Canada, James C M Alexander
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
The Vertigo target on the southwestern JP Ross property is a gold-mineralized showing ~70 km south of Dawson City in the White Gold district, west-central Yukon Territory, Canada. Favourable gold-mineralized zones occur with pathfinder elements As-Ag-Te-Pb-Bi. This study uses digital borehole logging, petrography, electron probe microanalysis, and micro-x-ray fluorescence to evaluate the spatial, geochemical, and mineralogical distribution of Au mineralization at the Vertigo target. Petrographic and structural interpretations are contextualized with synchrotron radiation x-ray diffraction on 120 drill sample pulps. The clustering of diffraction patterns has revealed characteristic signatures of Au-mineralization with structural geometries coincident with the mineralogical clusters. The …
