The Groundwater Of The Area North Of Flathead Lake, Montana, Frederick M. Hilpert May 1951

The Groundwater Of The Area North Of Flathead Lake, Montana, Frederick M. Hilpert

Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970

The purpose of this investigation is to determine the reasons for the ground water variations in the area north of Flathead Lake, Montana. Several methods were used in pursuing this investigation. Hydrographs were made of the various wells showing the season to season change as well as the year to year variation.

Water Levels And Artesian Pressure In Wells In Las Vegas Valley And In Other Valleys In Nevada, 1913-1945, T. W. Robinson, George B. Maxey, J. C. Fredericks, C. Harry Jameson Jan 1947

Water Levels And Artesian Pressure In Wells In Las Vegas Valley And In Other Valleys In Nevada, 1913-1945, T. W. Robinson, George B. Maxey, J. C. Fredericks, C. Harry Jameson

Publications (WR)

The rock formations of the earth are great natural reservoirs in which a part of the water derived from rain and snow is stored. Water levels and artesian pressure in wells register the stages of these natural reservoirs. The changes in water levels or artesian pressure are indicative of the depletion or replenishment of the natural reservoirs. Systematic and periodic measurements of water levels and artesian pressure in wells have been made in Nevada, by State and Federal agencies from time to time. However, only a few of these measurements have ever been published. Under the cooperative arrangement between the …

Progress Report On The Ground-Water Resources Of The Las Vegas Artesian Basin, Nevada, George B. Maxey, C. Harry Jameson Mar 1945

Progress Report On The Ground-Water Resources Of The Las Vegas Artesian Basin, Nevada, George B. Maxey, C. Harry Jameson

Publications (WR)

Whether the tremendously increased population acquired by Las Vegas in the years 1940 to 1942 will be retained cannot at present be foretold. However, the valley will undoubtedly be expected to support a considerably larger population than it did at any time prior to 1940, and continually increasing demands on the water supply for innumerable pcacetimc activities must be anticipated. Therefore, a sound evaluation of tho ground water resources of Las Vegas Valley is directly in line with the other wisely progressive planning programs which are now operating or are taking shape in the valley as well as in the …

Radioactive Properties Of The Subterranean Waters Of Ellis County, Kansas., Verne Lippert May 1937

Radioactive Properties Of The Subterranean Waters Of Ellis County, Kansas., Verne Lippert

Master's Theses

Soon after the discovery of Becquerel rays in 1896, tests were made on ordinary matter to see if all matter were radioactive. Although there is evidence to show that all matter is radioactive, to a degree and under certain conditions, it has been found that the greater part of the observable effect is due to traces of radioactive material permeating all matter in general. Thus, radium and its products being the most active of radioactive substances, the surface of the earth is covered with traces of these radioactive substances but the amount varies from place to place. Moreover, determinations of …

Chemical Analyses Of Some Oil-Well Waters Of Russell, Ellis And Trego Counties, H. Everett Runyon May 1936

Chemical Analyses Of Some Oil-Well Waters Of Russell, Ellis And Trego Counties, H. Everett Runyon

Master's Theses

Considerable work dealing with analysis of oil-well waters of other areas has been published, but to the knowledge of the author, none has been published dealing specifically with the waters of this area. While the waters dealt with in this paper are not far different from the waters of the Midcontinent area as a whole, there are certain differences which are noticeable. For instance strontium is found in the top waters of the Eldorado, Kansas field. None has been found in this area. The sulphate content of the top water here is very high. Both apparently cause trouble at times. …
