The descriptive material on nine tribal groups will be analyzed in Part II with reference to subsistence pursuits and the social and ritual aspects of these activities. Particular attention will be paid to prestige factors arising in the social and ritual life associated with the subsistence quest. The treatment of social aspects will include: t he kind of organization a particular subsistence activity involved, whether it was performed by one or more persons; the existence of professional groups; and the patterns of ownership and control of usufruct rights to natural resources.
