The Protection Of The Laborer As A Creditor, Thomas F. Desmond Jan 1938

The Protection Of The Laborer As A Creditor, Thomas F. Desmond

Bachelors’ Theses

The economic well being of any person, family, or social group is a vital factor which influences every apparent activity of their existence. At the same time, this financial status plays an important part in determining the mental .outlooks and ultimate status of both the individual and the organization. This monetary determination is peculiar to Western civilization, with the American people probably leading in the emphasis upon financial position. The goal set up and considered as. success- seems to be the acquisition of a fortune, with happiness in life, family considerations, or philanthropic endeavor regarded as secondary .and worthy of …

Trends In Social Thinking, 1910-1935, Mary Elizabeth Williams

Master's Theses

This topic has been chosen because of an interest in the economic and social conditions of the present day and a desire to know just how much the changing events of the world’s history during the past twenty five years have affected our attitudes toward certain economic problems. In order to do this, five fields of interest were chosen. These are, banking practice and legislation, agriculture, public finance, labor problems and trusts. I have attempted to draw some conclusions which will show a definite trend toward certain attitudes of thinking of the present day which are different from the attitudes …

A Study Of The Attitudes & Contributions Of Organized Labor To Education Prior To 1860, H. B. Mcalister

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

This study presents a somewhat connected narrative of the attitudes and contributions of organized labor to education prior to 1860. It has a twofold purpose: first, it is concerned with a consideration of the psychological, economic, social and political background which provided and shaped the determining factors of organized labor's earlier educational attitudes and contributions; and second, with an investigation for evidences as to the nature, extent and significance of these attitudes and contributions in evaluating labor's part in establishing our system of free public school education.

The Trend Of Financing Urban Property, Irvine F. Wilson May 1936

The Trend Of Financing Urban Property, Irvine F. Wilson

Master's Theses

This thesis is intended as a survey of trends in financing urban property. Urban property, as construed by this study, includes all incorporated cities, towns, and villages. This interpretation is used firstly in order that a complete analysis might be pictured and secondly, because investments in property are not necessarily restricted because of the number of inhabitants in a particular town or city. The report abounds not only in graphs and curves which indicate movements, but also explanatory material and tabulated statistics when deemed necessary to present a complete authentic picture.
