The Freshman was a weekly, student newsletter issued on Mondays throughout the academic year. The newsletter included calendar notices, coverage of campus social events, lectures, and athletic teams. The intent of the publication was to create unity, a sense of community, and class spirit among first year students. Charles C. Chapman College Lectures

This is a revision of an earlier lecture. In it Chapman addresses ministerial students and advises them on their course to become ministers. He tells them to make sure they are prepared for the financial, mental and spiritual challenges of the ministry. He also admonishes them to be ambitious in making themselves into an example for their congregation but also reminds them to be humble and use the life of Jesus as a guide.
