Divorce is something that is, unfortunately, becoming a commonality for a lot of children, and due to the complexity of divorce, many children struggle when trying to understand divorce and how it affects them. Some effects of divorce are various emotional and behavioral issues such as increased anger and decreased emotion regulation. Social, health, and academic concerns were also found. Counseling interventions like narrative therapy, emotion-focused family therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and play therapy were found to be effective with this population (Hirschfeld & Wittenborn, 2016, Thomas & Gibbons, 2009). During the COVID-19 pandemic, lacking national U.S. policies, wide variation and conflict over chosen public school policy decisions emerged. What factors and guidelines informed the decision-making process in K-12 public schools during the COVID-19 pandemic and who were the key stakeholders? This study examines three school district types – a large city, medium city, and small-town – across Minnesota as case studies to unpack how policy decisions were made during the pandemic. This study examines the relationship between autism and mental health as well as affection rates amongst children. I analyze data from the 2019 National Survey of Children’s Health, a nationally representative sample of children aged 0 to 17, which was collected by the US Census Bureau. Multivariate binary logistic models reveal that children with autism are significantly less likely to be affectionate toward others. Recent research indicates that social media usage is addictive both physically and psychologically. Due to the prevalence of social media, our group specifically wanted to study how its usage impacted Providence College students’ mental health, physical health, and communication skills (both in-person and online communication skills). The Hospital at Home (HaH) care model is naturally patient-centred, with improved patient and family experiences and outcomes firmly anchoring the innovative approach to care. Visiting any pediatric outpatient clinic as a child may be considered a stressful and anxiety-inducing experience. The literature suggests that positive distractions, such as pet therapy and single-user electronic devices, may aid in reducing anxiety and maximizing patient satisfaction throughout the patient’s experience at a pediatric outpatient clinic. The aim of this pilot quality improvement project was to determine which positive distractions patients experienced and whether single-user electronic loaner devices should be provided to patients at pediatric outpatient facilities. The objective of this study is to explore patient and caregiver factors that shape the use of available resources to support caregiving for lung cancer patients undergoing treatment. A mixed-method study was conducted at one regional cancer centre within the Province of Ontario, Canada, using concurrent triangulation design. Adult patients with lung cancer (n=46) and their caregivers (n=42) (37 patient-caregiver dyads) were invited to complete a one-time study survey. Informal caregivers (n=20) also participated in a one-time semi-structured interview. Discrimination has been consistently linked to depression. Despite evidence suggesting that individuals targeted for discrimination want to discuss discrimination-related stress, research suggests that therapists are not engaging in these conversations. There are limited psychoeducational materials available to support conversations about race-related stress and mental health, and there are limited data on their effects. This article describes the experience of a community pharmacist and two student pharmacists early in 2020. It shares their unique experiences in providing novel vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic while completing their Community Pharmacy Advance Pharmacy Practice Experientials (APPEs) at St. John’s University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Having the ability to participate in vaccination clinics, serving various communities, during an unprecedented time had a positive impact not only the community they served, but the experience also helped to cultivate them as future pharmacists.

Researchers report an association of racial discrimination to academic achievement for racial/ethnic minority students. Racial discrimination is manifest on multiple levels, including interpersonal discrimination, discrimination in schools, and societal and cultural discrimination. Researchers have generally focused their efforts on examining the effects of one type of discrimination on academic achievement. Further, mediators of this relation have not been fully explored. In a sample of 78 college students, we found only interpersonal racial/ethnic discrimination, and not school-based or societal discrimination was negatively associated with GPA. This study aimed to examine the correlation between knowledge of sexual health and sexual assault, and the subsequent disclosure of sexual assault amongst undergraduate women in sororities at St. John’s University.
