The river Ganges is a symbol of wealth, purity and eternity, and its sacred waters have inspired sages, philosophers, and artists in India who have immortalized its divine imagery. However, it has rarely been understood from a historical point of view, as to how it became so sacred and to view it from a multi-dimensional and interdisciplinary perspective with an accumulation of layers of historical thought and practices, provides a rationale for the living practices around the river. The paper explores the evolution of the concept of sacredness and eternity of River Ganges through art- historical and archaeological evidence. It …
Medical Visits Related To Firearm Injuries Increased During Covid-19, Rachel Chernet, Margaret K. Formica
Medical Visits Related To Firearm Injuries Increased During Covid-19, Rachel Chernet, Margaret K. Formica
Population Health Research Brief Series
When COVID-19 began its initial wave in the United States in March 2020, gun sales surged across the country. The increase in first time gun owners, stress, anxiety, and lack of safety training courses has corresponded with a significant increase in firearm injuries, with especially large increases in the Spring and Summer of 2020 among males, non-Hispanic Blacks, ages 20 to 29, and residents of the Midwest and South. Given the especially large rise in unintentional firearm injuries, policymakers should consider interventions that increase education, training, and regulation over safe firearm access and storage.

The resolution of any dilemmas related to the implementation of the curriculum must take into account its objectives, generally speaking, developing the readiness of students to participate independently in health-motivated, sporting and aesthetically-motivated physical activity and to take health promoting measures. This article describes the assumptions of the original modular physical education programme for the first stage of education in the aspect of track and field. The physical education programme was designed for use in classes where the number of hours of compulsory physical education classes has been extended or for work with students with special physical abilities.

One of the most frequently damaged structures of knee is the ACL. Among risk factors for ACL injury, particular attention is paid to anatomic ones-structural, hormonal, genetic, biomechanical, neuromuscular and environmental disorders. Correctly performed diagnostics and rehabilitation after knee injury determine the effectiveness of treatment. The diagnostic methods includes: subject examination, physical examination, imaging diagnostics and arthrometry. The overarching goal after ACL injury is regain knee joint stability and return to full mobility thus surgical methods to restore passive joint stability are recommended. Regular physical activity appears to be essential in maintaining good physical condition as opposed to a prevalently …

Satellite navigation systems have been used in professional navigation and geodesy for many years. The past decade has been a time of extending their application to devices also accessible to non-professional users. Sports and recreation is one of the major new areas in which satellite receivers are used. Since device manufacturers do not inform precisely (or at all) about the level of the positioning accuracy provided by such devices, it is necessary to propose a method of its assessment. This paper presents selected aspects of testing receivers in dynamic measurements to determine their accuracy based on international recommendations and standards …
