This exploratory study elicits NGO perceptions regarding Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education’s (MOETE) reform efforts, their interest in participating in education reform and policy advocacy, and their existing relationship with the ministry. Drawing on the findings from semi-structured, in-depth interviews with 13 representatives of education NGOs based in Cairo and Giza, this thesis takes a qualitative approach toward answering the following research question: How do NGOs targeting K-12 youth perceive their role in shaping education reform in Egypt? Health worker productivity problems due to suboptimal institutional management still often occur, including at the dr. H. Marzoeki Mahdi Mental Hospital (RSJMM). Nurses are the most significant number of health workers in hospitals with a high level of patient intervention; inappropriate treatment risks decreasing work productivity. This research aims to analyze the effect of financial compensation, non-financial compensation, and work discipline on nurse productivity at RSJMM. The research study used a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 205 nurses. The results showed partially (1) financial compensation has no significant effect on nurse productivity (Sig. value 0.953 > 0.05, β=0.002); (2) Non-financial …

Particularly since the end of authoritarian rule, decentralization efforts have continuously faced tensions with recentralization interests. Instead, the recent decentralization policies tend to display an administrative state supported by hierarchical policies. This research uses the Theory of Planned Behavior as the theoretical framework to analyze the relationship between the implementation of green hospital policy and energy-saving behaviors of employees in the hospital environment. The study's sample consists of 150 permanent employees, and the statistical data are analyzed using the Structural Equation ModelingPartial Least Square (SEM-PLS) technique. The analysis results indicate that implementing the green hospital policy influences the supportive factors of behavior: attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. However, the tests also reveal that subjective norms do not positively correlate with the energy-saving behaviors of employees at the hospital. The …

This dissertation consists of three chapters pertaining to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participation, food insecurity, cognition impairment, and sibling correlation in SNAP participation over the life course. Participation in SNAP among eligible adults 60 and older is much lower than among the younger population, and rates continue to decline throughout the life course while, at the same time, the risk of cognitive impairment increases. The relationship between food insecurity and health outcomes among adults has garnered increasing attention. On September 11, 2001, the four plane crashes marked the three sites of trauma that, to this day, sit in the heart of United States history. The paper examines the contested and often conflicting public and familial narratives at sites of memory and the recurring themes behind commemoration narratives.
