Municipal Corporations - Validity Of Covenant To Maintain Parking Meters In Bond Issue To Finance Off-Street Parking Facilities, William G. Cloon, Jr. S.Ed.

An act of the state legislature authorized the issuance of municipal bonds to finance off-street parking facilities. The city was authorized to pledge revenue from existing on-street parking facilities to service the bonds but was to retain the right to change the location of the parking meters and other on-street facilities for enumerated reasons so long as the change did not materially lessen the revenue to be derived from those facilities. Acting in pursuance of authority granted by the enabling act, the city covenanted to maintain its parking meters subject to the reservations required by the act. In an action …

Historical Data Cards were used to record the organizational history of units within the Army. This card was provided to Robert Bolin by the US Army Institute of Heraldry in 1985.
The Quartermaster Intelligence Agency (QIA) was established on 1 March 1955. QIA was a special-purpose military unit assigned to the Quartermaster General. The Quartermaster General was the general in charge of the Quartermaster Corps (QMC). The Octofoil is the offical publication of the Ninth Infantry Division Association, Inc., an organization formed by the officers and men of the 9th Infantry Division in order to perpetuate the memory of fallen comrades, preserve the esprit de corps of the Division, promote peace and serve as an information bureau about the 9th Infantry Division. The Association is made up of 9th Infantry veterans from WWII and Vietnam, spouses, widows and lineal descendants.

The purpose of this paper is to describe and illustrate some of the features that are of particular interest in the forecasting of one of the most death-dealing series of convective storms of the 1950s that occurred during the afternoon and evening of February 1, 1955. This series of severe storms included tornadoes, destructive winds, hail, and heavy rain that first struck near Marianata, Arkansas, then roared through Commerce Landing, Mississippi and northern Mississippi. then moved on to near Huntsville, Alabama.

In some other states people are accustomed to calling the smaller places "villages" and "boroughs," but this is not the custom in Tennessee.
