The following autoethnographic dissertation examines my personal experiences of trauma, abuse, and violence. Drawing on journals, memories, and artifacts from my life, I use self-reflection to illustrate the impacts of trauma on my childhood and adulthood. My traumatic experiences of sexual abuse, childhood violence, and emotional abuse are situated within broader sociocultural contexts of masculinity, Hispanic culture, and social norms. This study illuminates possibilities for healing and transformation for myself and others with shared traumatic backgrounds. It calls for trauma-informed education, masculinity, and resiliency. There is a paucity of theorizing concerning leadership enactments performed by African American women. The performances have been marginalized and obscured within the Western leadership canon as they fall outside its epistemological boundaries; they have also been sidelined within Critical Leadership Studies. This study employed Afrocentricity as a decolonizing paradigm and Africology as the research methodology to describe and define a leadership phenomenon enacted by African American women. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a federal agency that plays a large role in surveilling, apprehending, detaining, incarcerating, and deporting undocumented immigrants in the United States. Due to constraints on the number of ICE’s available personnel and resources, the agency relies on deputizing, or devolving to local law enforcement agencies the authority to enforce federal immigration policies. Prior to the 1990s, the enforcement of policies directed at controlling flows of undocumented immigrants was generally under the purview of federal law enforcement agencies and administrators, not state or local ones. Animals are, or are like persons, and so should not be treated as mere property. But persons are not just non-property; they are contractors. They interact with property and with other persons. This article analyses the possibilities for a range of animals to fit within market liberal society as contractors from a legal disciplinary perspective. Some animals are capable of contract-like relationships of reciprocal exchange, and can consent, in a certain sense, to parts of such relationships. This paper engages with Ghassan Hage’s concepts of ‘ungovernable waste’ and ‘generalized domestication’ to think critically about the sociopolitical position and futures of farmed animals in the context of ongoing climate and ecological crises. Against the erasure of farmed animal subjectivities, we posit that there is much to learn by turning to farmed animals as sources of wisdom, as unique knowers with lessons to teach us about extinction. This informal dialogue contextualises and explores contemporary practices of nonhuman animal gene-modification in de-extinction projects. Looking at recent developments in biotechnology’s role in de-extinction sciences and industries, these interdisciplinary scholars scrutinise the neoliberal impetus driving ‘species revivalism’ in the wake of the Capitalocene. Critical examinations of species integrity, cryo-preservation, techno-optimism, rewilding initiatives and projects aimed at restoring extinct animals such as the woolly mammoth and bucardo are used to map some of the necessary restructuring of conservation policies and enterprises that could secure viably sustainable – and just – futures for nonhuman animals at risk of extinction. Religious exit–also known as disaffiliation, deconversion, or apostasy–is a growing phenomenon in the United States with significant individual and social consequences. In this review, I consult existing literature to clarify the relationship between the process of religious exit and the mental health of exiters I organize this literature using Ebaugh’s (1988) role-exit model to frame exiting religion as a multi-stage process of role-identity disruption, exit, anomie, and reestablishment. I situate each stage as characterized by changes in mental health, in alignment with psychological theories of the impact of self-construction and self-concept on mental health symptoms. Research has consistently established the relationship between injury occurrence and subsequent mental health concerns within the athletic population (Brown et al., 2014; NCAA, 2021). Specifically, negative mental health outcomes such as anxiety, depression, and social isolation have followed the occurrence of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear (McGinley et al., 2022; Töyrä & Bergström, 2017). Psychological research within the LGBTQ+ community is a relatively recent phenomenon due to the stigma that has been historically placed on this population. Sexual minority populations experience a plethora of mental health problems ranging from mood disorders to personality disorders and have a greater risk of suicide as compared to their heterosexual counterparts (Gilman et al., 2001; Meyer, 2003; Steele et al., 2017). การศึกษาวิจัยเรื่อง “การวิเคราะห์เชิงลึกเพื่อป้องกันการเกิดความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองในสังคมยุคดิจิทัล” มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาปัจจัยที่ก่อให้เกิดความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองในยุคดิจิทัล (2) ศึกษาประเภทของความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองในยุคดิจิทัล (3) ศึกษาผลกระทบของความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองในยุคดิจิทัล และ (4) เสนอแนะแนวทางในการป้องกันและแก้ไขปัญหาความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองในยุคดิจิทัล การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (qualitative research) โดยดำเนินการเก็บข้อมูลจากผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญซึ่งเป็นคู่ครองจำนวน 13 คู่ ด้วยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก และทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการวิเคราะห์สรุปอุปนัย (analytic induction) ผลการศึกษา พบว่า การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางด้านเทคโนโลยีทำให้การใช้ชีวิตคู่มีความเปลี่ยนแปลงไปจากสังคมแบบเก่าทำให้การทำงานและชีวิตส่วนตัวเกิดความผูกพันจนไม่สามารถแยกออกจากกันได้ เทคโนโลยีอาจสร้างความห่างเหินต่อชีวิตคู่ ซึ่งส่งผลต่อความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองและปัญหาอาชญากรรมรูปแบบใหม่ ส่วนปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองประกอบด้วยปัจจัยเรียงตามลำดับความสำคัญ 12 ปัจจัย ได้แก่ ปัจจัยด้านเศรษฐกิจ ปัจจัยด้านการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางเทคโนโลยี ปัจจัยด้านความแตกต่างในมุมมองหรือทัศนคติ ปัจจัยด้านการสื่อสาร ปัจจัยด้านการนอกใจ ปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการเลี้ยงดูบุตร ปัจจัยด้านพฤติกรรมการดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ ปัจจัยด้านครอบครัวและเครือญาติของคู่ครอง ปัจจัยด้านเวลาและการจัดการชีวิตประจำวัน ปัจจัยความแตกต่างด้านอายุ ปัจจัยด้านความมีระเบียบและวินัย และปัจจัยด้านการแต่งกาย โดยสามารถจำแนกประเภทของความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองได้ 5 ประเภท ได้แก่ ความขัดแย้งด้านพฤติกรรมและทัศนคติ ความขัดแย้งทางด้านการเงิน ความขัดแย้งทางด้านเพศ ความขัดแย้งด้านการเลี้ยงดูบุตร และความขัดแย้งทางด้านการแบ่งงานกันทำ นอกจากนั้น ผลการวิจัยยังพบว่า ความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองส่งผลกระทบในด้านต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ ผลกระทบทางด้านจิตใจ ผลกระทบต่อความรุนแรงในครอบครัว ผลกระทบทางด้านร่างกาย ผลกระทบต่อลูก ผลกระทบต่อหน้าที่การงาน ผลกระทบด้านสังคม และผลกระทบด้านความพึงพอใจในความสัมพันธ์ ทั้งนี้ แนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองในเชิงสร้างสรรค์ประกอบด้วย การสื่อสารอย่างสร้างสรรค์ การเรียนรู้ ปรับตัวและยอมรับกัน การจัดการทางอารมณ์ การสร้างบรรยากาศที่ดี การสร้างฐานะทางการเงิน การมีส่วนร่วมในงานบ้าน และการมีกิจกรรมร่วมกันซึ่งจะทำให้ครอบครัวสามารถดำรงอยู่ได้อย่างยั่งยืน ดังนั้น การแก้ไขปัญหาความขัดแย้งระหว่างคู่ครองควรมีการนำเทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่ เช่น แอปพลิเคชั่นที่ช่วยในการสื่อสารและจัดการความขัดแย้งระหว่างค่าครอง มาช่วยในการแก้ไขปัญหาดังกล่าวควบคู่ไปกับการแก้ไขปัญหาเชิงนโยบายที่ดำเนินการโดยภาครัฐ

This study explored the influence of culture and perceived parental expectations and control on the development of self. In addition, it examined the resulting incongruence between the ideal and real-self leading to false-self behaviour and mental health deterioration. Carl Rogers' theoretical framework on self, served as the basis for this research, which used an interpretative phenomenological analytic technique. BACKGROUND: Financial toxicity (FT) reflects multi-dimensional personal economic hardships borne by cancer patients. It is unknown whether measures of FT-to date derived largely from English-speakers-adequately capture economic experiences and financial hardships of medically underserved low English proficiency US Hispanic cancer patients.
