Anthropology Department: Theses

One of the aims of anthropology is the study of the growth and change of cultures. The data on which the realization of this aim depends include reports upon single archeological sites or the ethnographies of a group of people. These data, however, are of little value as long as each report remains a unique entity, hanging in time and space. For the study of culture growth and change each must be seen in its proper perspective against the known total of history. This archeological report presents pertinent material for the study of some of these historical phenomena in the …

This is a textbook used at the Army Transportation School. In the 1950s, military schools related to one of the Army Technical Services were run by that service. Since the format and content of Army field manuals were often very similar to those of special texts, the same staffs often prepared both. At the time this special text was written no field manual on transportation intelligence has been issued.

The modern US Army vision of the technical intelligence developed during World War II. Shortly before World War II, Army Technical Services had been instructed to set up intelligence sections in …

An Analysis Of Divorce In Nebraska, Kenneth L. Cannon Jan 1954

An Analysis Of Divorce In Nebraska, Kenneth L. Cannon

Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Research Bulletins

Each year the State of Nebraska compiles and publishes a considerable amount of data on marriage and divorce. An analysis of these data-such as a study of the extent, increase, and rate of divorce-offers a factual basis for determining how the family is faring in certain important aspects. Some indication of the probabilities of divorce may also be gained. The areas in a state where family breakdown is least and most pronounced may be located, and by comparing these areas, factors associated with high rates of divorce may be determined. The location of the areas may point out where research …
