Problem: The home school movement in America presents a rapidly-emerging alternative to conventional educational systems. The purpose of this study was to identify selected characteristics of home schools and the parents who operate them.

Method: The population used in this descriptive research was drawn from the files of the Hewitt Research Foundation, Berrien Springs, Michigan. Potential respondents were parents indicating recent experience or interest in home school operations. The study was designed to develop a profile of home schools and home school operators by identifying central tendencies in the respondent data. Effects Of Electromagnetic Fields On The Visually Evoked Response In The Visual Cortex, Arni Holm

Problem. This study sought to determine if electromagnetic fields affect the visually evoked response of the visual cortex. From the fact that nerve impulses are propagated by the motions of electrically charged ions, the question arose whether the presence of an external electromagnetic field might affect either the propagation of nerve impulses traveling through the optical nerve pathway or the functioning of the visual cortex itself.

Method. Evoked responses were produced in the visual cortex of cats by visual stimulation (light flashes). Surface electrodes, located at the visual cortex (and connected to a preamplifier and an oscilloscope) detectedthe evoked responses …

Problem. There were two main purposes associated with this study. The first purpose was to develop a demographic profile giving a number of personal characteristics of the citizens who serve as school board members. There was a two-way cross-analysis made of many of the personal characteristics to determine any significant relationship. The second purpose was to determine how Michigan school board members rank eighteen current educational concerns. Problem

An understanding of the adjustment of the family may be facilitated by analyzing the tasks and the task performance of the family. This analysis requires a knowledge of the content and the construct of family tasks. The purpose of the study was to describe a factorial construction of the tasks of the family in exploring the content and the construct of family tasks.

Method

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a primary prevention alternatives strategy with undergraduate college students. The prevention approach was examined to determine its effect upon the students' drug knowledge, drug attitudes, drug use behavior, and participation in alternative behaviors.

The design used was the pre-test - post-test control group design. There were five groups and two group leaders. The five groups consisted of two reinforcement of alternatives groups, two placebo/discussion groups and one control group.
