The Anchor: 1990
The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). As of Fall 2019 The Anchor has moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

Freshwater Aquaculture In Western Australia., Fisheries Department Of Western Australia
Freshwater Aquaculture In Western Australia., Fisheries Department Of Western Australia
Fisheries management papers
Freshwater aquaculture in Western Australia is a relatively new industry. The first serious attempts began in 1975 after the Government relaxed the regulations on marron to allow for its farming and sale (at the legal minimum size of 17 mm carapace length). Since 1975, marron have been the focus of most attempts at aquaculture although in recent years trout, yabbies, freshwater aquarium fish and a number of other fish species have received greater attention. In 1984 the Minister for Fisheries established the Fish Farming Legislative Review Committee to review and make recommendations on the fish farming provisions of the Fisheries …

Phase Ii Historical Investigations At Justiceberg Reservoir, Garza And Kent Counties, Texas, Martha Doty Freeman, Douglas K. Boyd
Index of Texas Archaeology: Open Access Gray Literature from the Lone Star State
Phase II cultural resources investigations at the proposed Justiceburg Reservoir in Garza and Kent counties, Texas, conducted in 1988-1989 included work at four historic sites, the recording of a previously unrecorded historic site, and development of two National Register contexts. This report documents the archeological work at the sites and presents data that resulted from in-depth research concerning the history of the use and development of these sites. In addition, the report presents two historic contexts which were developed in order to provide tools for the assessment of sites within the project area and, at the same time, to present …

This report documents the archeological work at 62 prehistoric and aboriginal rock art sites and the geoarcheological study conducted as part of the Phase II work. Investigations at 48 prehistoric sites, including open campsites, rockshelters, lithic procurement sites, faunal localities, and rock art sites, resulted in complete National Register assessments; 9 campsites, the 2 rockshelters, and 6 rock art sites are considered to be eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. This appendix describes the stratigraphic and pedogenic characteristics of each trench excavated during subsurface geomorphic reconnaissance conducted as part of the testing phase at Justiceburg Reservoir. Seventy-seven trenches were excavated during the course of the project. The overall results and interpretations of the geomorphic phase of the investigation are presented in Chapter 4. The data presented in this appendix are based on field descriptions of the sediment columns exposed by the trenches. The neutral term tlzone" was adopted to allow both stratigraphic and pedogenic variation in sediment columns to be described under the same nomenclature. For each zone, the depth, …

Illness Career Descent And The Descending Hierarchy: The Organizational Structure Of A Retirement Facility, Bradley J. Fisher
Illness Career Descent And The Descending Hierarchy: The Organizational Structure Of A Retirement Facility, Bradley J. Fisher
The Journal of Sociology & Social Welfare
Illness career descent is a process involving the downward trajectory of chronic illness and the residents' downward movement through the organizational structure of the retirement facility. This structure can be conceptualized as a "descending" hierarchy where residents experience downward mobility through successively lower statuses. These conceptualizations are grounded in three years of participant observation and interviews with over 150 residents at a multilevel care retirement facility. Downward mobility, within the facility, entails relocation to more regimented and stigmatized residency situations. The individual's goal is to slow down the pace of this illness career timetable. Descending hierarchical structures within facilities for …

What Is The Right Energy Policy For America?, Murray L. Weidenbaum
Murray Weidenbaum Publications
Addressed are the nation's options for energy policies heading into the 1990s and the need for less government regulation and more market interactions for price-setting. Such a policy should also include the full environmental costs to production as a way to help reduce excessive energy usage.

Inefficiency Of Strategy-Proof Allocation Mechanisms In Pure Exchange Economies, Lin Zhou
Inefficiency Of Strategy-Proof Allocation Mechanisms In Pure Exchange Economies, Lin Zhou
Cowles Foundation Discussion Papers
In this paper I prove that in the standard model of 2 times n ( n > 2) pure exchange economies there is no allocation mechanism that is efficient, non-inversely-dictatorial, and strategy-proof. This strengthens two previous results on this subject by Hurwicz and by Dasgupta, Hammond, and Maskin.
