Knowledge Management Technology: Will There Be A Second Chance?, Roger A. Lohmann
Faculty & Staff Scholarship
Since its creation in 1989, ARNOVA has grown from a 2-day annual conference to a year-round functioning organization that is one of the major contributors to the third sector/civil society paradigm. Online knowledge management and infomatics are one of the major concerns. The concern here is with a few technical aspects of the role of the association in the production, dissemination and application of knowledge about the third sector the flow of scholarly documents generated by ARNOVA members primarily for the use of other members. The challenge today, as it has been in the past, is how to structure a …

The Anchor: 2001
The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). As of Fall 2019 The Anchor has moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

It had been raining a lot one day before, then the ground became less hard and slippery. The truck drove on the usual track that both vehicles used to pass without any problem but due to the slippery ground conditions, the land cruiser escaped from the usual track and it activated a MAI-75 AP mine with its right rear wheel which caused an immediate explosion. This happened inside the cleared area, approximately 287 metres from the beginning of the road (at that time, 4700 metres had already been cleared).
Community Options For Wellhead Protection Areas, J. David Aiken
Community Options For Wellhead Protection Areas, J. David Aiken
Cornhusker Economics
The Wellhead Protection Area Act (WHPA Act) was adopted in 1998. The WHPA Act authorizes public water suppliers (primarily cities and villages) to designate wellhead protection areas (WHPAs) to protect community water supplies from pollution.
Under the Nebraska Safe Drinking Water Quality Act, the quality of water provided by public water supply systems is regulated by the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services. If a community’s water violates drinking water standards, the community can operate only under NDHHS administrative order until the violations are corrected. Nitrate is Nebraska’s most widespread groundwater contaminant. If a community’s water exceeds the 10 …

The Effects Of Defendant Account On Damage Award Decisions, Tracey Renee Carpenter
The Effects Of Defendant Account On Damage Award Decisions, Tracey Renee Carpenter
FIU Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to examine whether the manner in which civil defendants account for their behavior influences compensatory and punitive damage awards. Jurors read three civil trial summaries, in which I manipulated injury severity (high vs. low), defendant reprehensibility (high vs. low), defendant status (individual vs. corporate), and account (concession, excuse, justification or refusal) in a factorial design. I also included four control groups in which the defendant stipulated liability. In all other conditions, participants read that a jury had found the defendant negligent. Only defendant reprehensibility influenced punitive awards. Both plaintiff injury and defendant reprehensibility influenced …

The purpose of this study was to see if the Play With Purpose program will provide the 00-01 Lynn University women's basketball team with necessary tools to increase personal growth, and aide in developing a healthy self-esteem.
To research this subject matter a survey was conducted. The survey was administered to the 2000-2001 Lynn University's Women's Basketball team. Based on race, religion, and socio-economic background it was felt that the team represented a wide spectrum of collegiate athletes.
While researching past studies, reviewing related literature, and calculating the survey, it was found by this study that the group size, although …
