Bibliometric Survey On Image Processing Techniques Using Lattice Boltzmann Method For Cfd Simulations, Priyambada Praharaj Mrs, Chandrakant Sonawane Dr, Madhura Ingalhalikar Dr

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)

This bibliometric analysis aims to understand how Lattice Boltzmann Method could be a potential solver in integrating computational fluid dynamics with image segmentation smoothly. Cardiovascular diseases have been a major health problem in our society and have been an interesting topic for researchers to focus on. Computational Fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation on well-segmented patient-specific images could help the clinicians in diagnosing many cardiovascular diseases in the initial stages itself thereby avoiding surgery. This paper focuses on how various methods have been used since 1988 and been successfully implemented in subsequent years. The bibliometric analysis is done from Scopus and the …

Fearful Of Going Back To School? 3 Reasons You Can Earn A Degree Online, Jessica Qualls, Ouachita News Bureau

Press Releases

Every year when fall begins, my family has a tradition of watching the 1998 classic, "You've Got Mail." (If you haven't seen it, prepare your heart for delightful Meg Ryan-Tom Hanks banter, autumnal New York scenes and dial-up internet nostalgia.) One of my favorite lines in the movie comes from main character Kathleen Kelly's bookkeeper, Bertie. When Kathleen chooses to make a major career change, Bertie calls her decision, “the brave thing to do,” saying, “You are daring to imagine that you could have a different life!”

Sexual Interference Behaviors In Male Adult And Subadult Tibetan Macaques (Macaca Thibetana), Kui-Hai Pang, Amanda K. Rowe, Lori K. Sheeran, Dong-Po Xia, Lixing Sun, Jin-Hua Li

Anthropology and Museum Studies Faculty Scholarship

Male nonhuman primate sexual interference, which includes copulation interruption and copulation harassment, has been related to reproductive success, but its significance has been challenging to test. Copulation interruption results in the termination of a copulation before ejaculation, whereas copulation harassment does not. We conducted this study using the all-occurrence behavior sampling method on sexual interference behaviors of seven adult and four subadult male Tibetan macaques (Macaca thibetana) in mating and non-mating seasons at Mt. Huangshan, China, from August 2016 to May 2017. Our results showed that males’ individual proportion of copulation interruption and harassment was higher during the mating season …

Felon disenfranchisement in Florida. This article needs to be updated. In the U.S. state of Florida, people convicted of a felony lose their right to vote during their incarceration. Before January 8, 2019, felons effectively lost their right to vote for life, as it could only be restored by the governor's action, which rarely occurred.

Using Carrots Not Sticks To Cultivate A Culture Of Safeguarding In Sport, Judith L. Komaki, Yetsa A. Tuakli-Wosornu

Publications and Research

The power-driven, win-at-all-costs milieu of many sport settings can create fertile ground for athlete victimization and abuse (Roberts et al., 2020). Victory can in fact be so sovereign that abusive coaches and staff are enabled and “even rewarded. . . in the name of winning” (Armour, 2020). Athlete abuse prevention therefore requires systemic cultural change (Letourneau et al., 2014; Rhind and Owusu-Sekyere, 2017). Thus far, however, enacting this idea has eluded organizations in sport (Mountjoy et al., 2016; Harris and Terry, 2019; Kerr et al., 2019; Rhind and Owusu-Sekyere, 2020) as well as in other settings (National Academies of Sciences, …

Phenology Of Antler Casting And Occurrence Of Late-Breeding In Nebraska White-Tailed Deer, Brian C. Peterson, Patrick D. Farrell, Dave Fehlhafer, Miranda C. Reinson, Dustin H. Ranglack Mar 2021

Phenology Of Antler Casting And Occurrence Of Late-Breeding In Nebraska White-Tailed Deer, Brian C. Peterson, Patrick D. Farrell, Dave Fehlhafer, Miranda C. Reinson, Dustin H. Ranglack

Transactions of the Nebraska Academy of Sciences and Affiliated Societies

White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) in Nebraska primarily breed in November (stimulated by photoperiod), but this season extends into December and January for unfertilized females and healthy fawns reaching the appropriate breeding weight by winter. Variation in the typical mating period can be attributed to geographic region, skewed sex ratios, and fawns reaching sexual maturity during their first year of birth. During April of 2019, we observed late season breeding by a male white-tailed deer in the central Platte River valley and documented late antler casting for this same late-copulating male. An additional male was observed in April of …
