It is fairly well known that direct torque control (DTC) exhibits fast dynamic torque response, a property that originates in the fact that torque and flux is directly controlled by instantaneous space voltage vector, unlike field-oriented control. For this reason direct torque control gradually has been used in the field, eliciting quick response and high efficiency since its introduction in the mid-1980s. The power quality (PQ) requirement is one of the most important issues for power companies and their customers. Continuously monitoring the PQ from remote and distributed centers will help to improve the PQ. In this study, a remote power quality monitoring system for low voltage sub-networks is developed using MATLAB Server Pages (MSP). MATLAB Server Pages, which is an open source technical web programming language, combines MATLAB with integrated J2EE specifications. HF skywave `over-the-horizon' radars experience exceptionally high levels of clutter from the earth's surface as a consequence of their `look-down' propagation geometry. While Doppler processing is effective in separating aircraft echoes from the clutter, thereby enabling detection, the same does not always hold for slow moving targets. In particular, ship echoes occupy the same region of Doppler space as the sea clutter, so the likelihood of target echo obscuration is high. This paper proposes the application of a hierarchical fuzzy system (HFS) based on multi-input power system stabilizer (MPSS) in multi-machine environment. The number of rules increases exponentially with the number of variables in a standard fuzzy system. This problem is solved in the proposed HFS method. In this paper a systematic modeling and control approach for flow problems is considered. A nonlinear Galerkin model is obtained from the partial differential equations (PDEs) describing the flow; and a Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) model is constructed to approximate the Galerkin model, where the parameter variation of the LPV model is controller by an adaptation mechanism. In this study, an ultrasonic digital beamformer based on subarray processing of 1-bit delta-sigma (\Delta \Sigma ) oversampled echo signals is presented. The single-bit oversampling \Delta \Sigma conversion simplifies the coherent processing in beamforming with improved timing accuracy. Subarray processing also aims to simplify the beamforming complexity, where the partial-beam sums (low-resolution beams) are acquired from small subarrays, and then these partial beams are coherently processed for producing high-resolution beams. Automatic facial expression recognition for novel individuals from 3D face data is a challenging task in pattern analysis. This paper describes a feature selection process for pose-invariant 3D facial expression recognition. The process provides a lower dimensional subspace representation, which is optimized to improve the classification accuracy, retrieved from geometrical localization of facial feature points to classify facial expressions. A piece-wise second order approximation to the f (x) = -log [tanh (x/2)] function is proposed to reduce the computational complexity of LDPC decoder's utilizing Log-Likelihood Ratio Belief Propagation (LLR-BP) algorithm based on Gallager's approach. In this paper, we present a novel approach to strengthen Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). PSO is a population-based metaheuristic that takes advantage of individual memory and social cooperation in a swarm. It has been applied to a variety of optimization problems because of its simplicity and fast convergence. However, straightforward application of PSO suffers from premature convergence and lack of intensification around the local best locations. IIn this paper, we propose a new adaptive controller scheme for the bilateral telerobotic/teleoperation systems. The proposed controller achieves asymptotic tracking despite the parametric uncertainties associated with both master and slave robots while ensuring the passivity of the closed loop system. The aim of this study is to investigate the suitability of selected swarm optimization algorithms to the generalized assignment problem as encountered in multi-target tracking applications. For this purpose, we have tested variants of particle swarm optimization and ant colony optimization algorithms to solve the 2D generalized assignment problem with simulated dense and sparse measurement/track matrices and compared their performance to that of the auction algorithm. Maximizing the joint dependency with a minimum size of variables is generally the main task of feature selection. For obtaining a minimal subset, while trying to maximize the joint dependency with the target variable, the redundancy among selected variables must be reduced to a minimum. In this paper, we propose a method based on recently popular minimum Redundancy-Maximum Relevance} (mRMR) criterion. The experimental results show that instead of feeding the features themselves into mRMR, feeding the covariates improves the feature selection capability and provides more expressive variable subsets.

In this paper a novel method is proposed for constructing linear parameter varying (LPV) system models through adaptation. For a class of nonlinear systems, an LPV model is built using its linear part, and its coefficients are considered as time-varying parameters. The variation in time is controlled by an adaptation scheme with the goal of keeping the trajectories of the LPV system close to those of the original nonlinear system. In this paper, RSA cryptosystem was implemented on hardware, then modified to be resistant against Differential Power Analysis attacks by using the Randomized Table Window method. This is the first FPGA realization of an algorithmic countermeasure which makes RSA resistant to power analysis attacks. Modular exponentiation is realized with Montgomery Modular Multiplication. In this paper, a new square-root domain, first order, all-pass filter based on the MOSFET square law is presented. The proposed filter is designed by using nonlinear mapping on the state variables of a state space description of the transfer function. To the best knowledge of the authors, the filter is the first square-root domain first order all-pass structure designed by using state space synthesis method in the literature. A New Chaotic Attractor From General Lorenz System Family And Its Electronic Experimental Implementation, İhsan Pehli̇van, Yilmaz Uyaroğlu

This article introduces a novel three-dimensional continuous autonomous chaotic system with six terms and two quadratic nonlinearities. The new system contains two variational parameters and exhibits Lorenz-like attractors in numerical simulations and experimental measurements. The basic dynamical properties of the new system are analyzed by means of equilibrium points, eigenvalue structures, and Lyapunov exponents. The new system examined in Matlab-Simulink^{\textregistered} and Orcad-PSpice^{\textregistered}. An electronic circuit realization of the proposed system is presented using analog electronic elements such as capacitors, resistors, operational amplifiers and multipliers. The behaviour of the realized system is evaluated with computer simulations.
