Article 1 of the US Constitution assigns the US Congress numerous responsibilities. These include creating new laws, revising existing laws, funding government programs, and conducting oversight of these programs' performance. Oversight of US Government agency space policy programs is executed by various congressional space policy committees including the House and Senate Science Committees, Armed Services, and Appropriations Committees. These committees conduct many public hearings on space policy, which invite expert witnesses to testify on US space policy programs and feature debate on the strengths and weaknesses of these programs. Photosynthesis is a chemical process through which light energy is used to convert inorganic material (water and carbon dioxide) into organic molecules. Anaerobic photosynthesis, also known as anoxygenic photosynthesis, is the process by which certain bacteria use light energy to create organic compounds but do not adequately involve oxygen. In this experiment we are trying to influence photosynthesis (light and dark reactions: PS-I and PS-II by electron rich gadolinium/iodine complexes like Eovist and Isovue. We also performed X-ray and NIR reflection spectroscopy (NIRS) to measure Gd difusivity and PS-I/II infrared response. The results for X-ray (45kvp and 5 Mas ) …

Uptake Of Co(Ii) Ions From Aqueous Solutions By Low-Cost Biopolymers And Their Hybrid, Mohamdia Nassar, Abel E. Navarro

Alginate hydrogel beads (AB), spent peppermint leaf (PM), and a hybrid adsorbent of these two materials (ABPM), were studied as potential adsorbents of Cobalt (II) ions from aqueous solutions in batch system at room temperature. Equilibrium parameters such as solution pH, mass of adsorbent and the presence of a crowding agent on the adsorption of Co(II) ions were investigated. The results indicate that Co(II) uptake is maximized at pH values higher than 5, with adsorbent doses in the range 120-200 mg. Co(II) adsorption followed the trend AB > ABPM > PM with adsorption percentages of 77%, 71% and 64%, respectively.

Decision Tree For Predicting The Party Of Legislators, Afsana Mimi

The motivation of the project is to identify the legislators who voted frequently against their party in terms of their roll call votes using Office of Clerk U.S. House of Representatives Data Sets collected in 2018 and 2019. We construct a model to predict the parties of legislators based on their votes. The method we used is Decision Tree from Data Mining. Python was used to collect raw data from internet, SAS was used to clean data, and all other calculations and graphical presentations are performed using the R software.

Despite this, oceans and waterways all over the world are being polluted and exploited in ways detrimental to their fundamental hydrologic functions. A diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) road map, aligned with organizational values of DEI, is a strategic plan that defines DEI in your work: where you are starting, where you want to end up, and how you are going to get there. Washington Sea Grant (WSG) has developed a 10-year road map that includes 13 ambitious, but achievable goals that are aligned with tangible strategies and expected outcomes. Arsenic contamination in food and beverages is a problem due to the harm it can cause consumers. Currently in the United States there is no regulation limit. Red, white, and pink wines will be analyzed for their concentration of inorganic arsenic. Analysis of the wines will be analyzed by x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF). From this experiment we hope to develop a new method for measuring low concentrations of arsenic in wine.

The work of our team of over 35 student volunteers reflects that dedication. This past year we became the official Food Recovery Network chapter for Ursinus, broadened outreach efforts on- and off-campus, and boosted food waste education, all while recovering unprecedented quantities of food. Since the mid-1980’s, there have been focused federal, state and local efforts to restore the Puget Sound ecosystem. Beginning in 2008 the Puget Sound Partnership (PSP) has produced Action Agendas that describe comprehensive recovery programs and, since 2011, have identified a set of Vital Signs and indicators. As of 2018, PSP identified 25 Vital Signs (VS) with 52 affiliated indicators. The PSP is now undertaking a collaborative effort to revise the VS and indicators to address known concerns and to situate them in a framework of other types of progress measures. The objective of this work is to analyze a data set, Auto, from the R package ISLR: Introduction to Statistical Learning in R. The data set includes information for 392 observations on 9 variables including gas mileage, horsepower, weight in pounds, and engine displacement in cubic inches. The data set was taken from the StatLib library maintained at Carnegie Mellon University. The primary response variable will be gas mileage in miles per gallon, with all other variables serving as predictors, but other relationships with other response variables such as acceleration will be explored. Entomophagy, or the eating of insects, has been practiced in the eastern world for centuries, however it is currently overlooked in the western nations. Studies have shown that insects, such as crickets, contain high levels of protein and minerals, however vitamin content is rarely studied. This study aims to quantify the vitamin B12 content in two cricket species, the common house cricket (Acheta domesticus) and the banded cricket (Gryllodes sigillatus).
