Basin Margin Tectonics And Morphology As Controls Of Delta Type And Architecture: Examples From The Mio-Pliocene Yalvaç Basin (Sw Turkey), Ayhan Ilgar, Ali̇ Ergen, Ercan Tuncay, Alper Bozkurt

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

This study describes the sedimentary facies and depositional architectures of Gilbert-type and shoal-water delta deposits developed on opposed margins of the extensional fluvio-lacustrine Yalvaç Basin during the late Cenozoic. The roles of syndepositional tectonism, basin dynamics, and hinterland morphology on the development of different delta types are assessed. This asymmetric trough initially opened as an intramontane molasse basin to the southwest of the Sultandağları massif. Its northern and southern margins are bounded by normal faults, which controlled both tectono-sedimentary evolution of the basin and the surrounding palaeomorphology. The lacustrine deposits consist of thin-bedded limestones, marls, and medium to thick-bedded sandstones …

Detection And Interpretation Of Precursory Magnetic Signals Preceding October 30, 2020 Samos Earthquake, İlki̇n Özsöz, Oya Ankaya Pamukçu

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

A major earthquake (Mw=7.0) occurred in the Samos Island on the 30th of October 2020 at 11:51 UTC. Swarm satellite magnetic data were analysed for 153 days before and 46 days after the earthquake. Preearthquake and postearthquake anomaly search is constrained within the Dobrovolsky's Circular Area. Fundamentally, there are 5 steps for processing satellite magnetic data to interpret the earthquake preparation phase. The first step is converting geographical coordinates to geomagnetic latitude and longitude. Secondly, intensity of the external magnetic field should be evaluated by magnetic indices (Ap, Kp and Dst). Thirdly, preearthquake and postearthquake magnetic anomaly should be constrained …

Simultaneous Feedforward Online Command Rate Limiter Filters For Existingcontrollers, Gali̇p Serdar Tombul Jan 2021

Simultaneous Feedforward Online Command Rate Limiter Filters For Existingcontrollers, Gali̇p Serdar Tombul

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

One of the biggest challenges in controller design for a mechatronics system is the actuator limitations. Either response time of the actuator or the input constraints creates limits for the controller performance and stability. In this study a novel feedforward online rate limiter scheme for arbitrary input signals is introduced by taking velocity, acceleration and jerk constraints into account, and it is investigated that how the control effort and system response is affected by the demand signal's rate of change limitations. A fin actuation system for a guided missile is given as an example where the demand signal comes from …

Unitals In Projective Planes Of Order 16, Stoicho Dimitrov Stoichev, Mustafa Gezek

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this study, we perform computer searches for unitals in planes of order 16. The number of known nonisomorphic unitals in these planes is improved to be 261. Some data related to 2-$(65,5,1)$ designs associated with unitals are given. New lower bounds on the number of unital designs in projective planes of order 16 and 2-$(65,5,1)$ designs are established. The computations show that thirty-nine unitals can be embedded in two or more nonisomorphic projective planes of order 16. Fifteen new connections between planes of order 16 (based on unitals) are found. All unitals found by the algorithms used in this …

$\Lambda_C \To \Lambda$ Form Factors In Lattice Qcd, Hüseyi̇n Bahti̇yar

Turkish Journal of Physics

Studying the semileptonic decays of charmed particles is prominent in testing the standard model of particle physics. Motivated by recent experimental progress in weak decays of the charm baryon sector, we study the form factors of $\Lambda_c \to \Lambda \ell^+ \nu$ transition on two flavor lattices. We compute two- and three-point functions, extract the dimensionless projected correlators, and combine them to form the Weinberg form factors. In the zero transferred momentum limit $f_1$, $f_2$ and $g_1$ form factors are found to be in agreement with other models, furthermore $f_3$ and $g_3$ form factors are comparable to model determinations. The $g_2$ …

C_11 Modules Via Left Exact Preradicals, Ramazan Yaşar

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this article, we study modules with the condition that every image of a submodule under a left exact preradical has a complement which is a direct summand. This new class of modules properly contains the class of $C_{11}$-modules (and hence also $CS$-modules). Amongst other structural properties, we deal with direct sums and decompositions with respect to the left exact preradicals of this new class of modules. It is obtained a decomposition such that the image of the module itself is a direct summand for the left exact radical, which enjoys the new condition.
