The Asymptotic Iteration Method For The Eigenenergies Of The Complex Potential V(X) = \Gamma X^4 + I \Beta X^3 + I \Alpha X, Abdallah Jamiel Sous

Turkish Journal of Physics

Recently, three complex potentials V(x) = i x^3,V(x) = i x^3 + i \alpha x, and V(x) = x^4 + i \alpha x have been studied in the literature. Here, we combine these potentials in one. With the aid of the asymptotic iteration method we have numerically calculated the eigenenergies of the new complex potential. The obtained numerical results are compared with those obtained by using the WKB, EMM, and MRF methods and found to be in an excellent agreement. We discuss how an adjustable parameter \zeta can help to improve our results.

Yo-Yo Tectonics Of The Niğde Massif During Wrenching In Central Anatolia, Donna L. Whitney, Paul J. Umhoefer, Christian Teyssier, Annia K. Fayon

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Yo-yo tectonics occurs in wrench zones in response to switches between transpression and transtension or to changes in the geometries of faults during these modes of deformation, and involves multiple cycles of burial and exhumation. The Niğde Massif, Turkey, is a spectacular example of a tectonic yo-yo: it experienced two complete cycles of burial and exhumation in a zone of oblique displacement. The two cycles, one regional and one more local in scale, together occurred over > 80 m.y., from Cretaceous burial to Miocene cooling and exhumation. Temperature-time paths calculated using apatite fission track age and length data, combined with published …

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Sıcak Çermik, Delikkaya and Sarıkaya are important travertine fields with active hot springs located 31 km west of Sivas. Based on their morphology, most of the travertines are classified as fissure-ridge travertines. Eroded sheet-type, terraced, and self-built channel types of travertine are also present at a few locations. Faults and fissures formed in the underlying İncesu Formation, and fissures developing in the fissure-ridge travertines are linked to one another. Tectonic deformation forming the fissure-ridge travertines resulted from NE-SW extension associated with a NW-SE compressional regime related to the Central Anatolian Thrust Belt and Sivas Backthrust. U/Th series age dating results …

Punctuated Exhumation And Foreland Basin Formation And Infilling In (Circum)-Central Anatolia (Turkey) Associated With The Neo-Tethyan Closure, Durmuş Boztuğ, Haluk Temi̇z, Raymond Jonckheere, Lothar Ratscbacher Jan 2008

Punctuated Exhumation And Foreland Basin Formation And Infilling In (Circum)-Central Anatolia (Turkey) Associated With The Neo-Tethyan Closure, Durmuş Boztuğ, Haluk Temi̇z, Raymond Jonckheere, Lothar Ratscbacher

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Apatite fission-track data indicate that the (circum)-central Anatolian granitoids (CAG) were exhumed during successive shortening phases following continent-continent collisions within the Neo-Tethyan domain in central and east-central Anatolia. The Early to Middle Paleocene exhumation of the CAG is thought to be a consequence of the collision between the Tauride-Anatolide platform (TAP) and the Eurasian plate (EP) following the consumption of the İzmir-Ankara-Erzincan strand of the northern Neo-Tethys. The Oligocene exhumation documented by the data for the Kösedağ pluton in east-central Anatolia is considered to be related to the compression due to continuing convergence between the EP and TAP which seems …

On the other hand, there is no common database for the focal mechanism solutions of the recent destructive earthquakes (Mw>=5.5) in the region. The present study aims to prepare two new digital databases for earth scientists so that the earthquake parameters can be reached from a …

Masses Of Charged Leptons And Gauge Mixing Parameters, Cvavb Chandra Raju Jan 2008

Masses Of Charged Leptons And Gauge Mixing Parameters, Cvavb Chandra Raju

Turkish Journal of Physics

It is shown that the electroweak physics of the electron and the muon is based on the left-right gauge model with the mixing parameters 0.2254 and 0.2746. These mixing parameters are determined by the masses of the electron and the muon. The electroweak physics of the Tau-lepton and its left-handed neutrino is based on the gauge group SU(2)_L XU(1).The mixing parameter for this gauge model is 0.5 and is determined by the mass of the charged Tau-lepton. The W and Z bosons that mediate the electroweak physics of Tau-lepton and its neutrino have masses 173.5 GeV and 245.4 GeV, respectively.
