Quantum Stabilizer Codes, Lattices, And Cfts, Anatoly Dymarsky, Alfred D. Shapere
Quantum Stabilizer Codes, Lattices, And Cfts, Anatoly Dymarsky, Alfred D. Shapere
Physics and Astronomy Faculty Publications
There is a rich connection between classical error-correcting codes, Euclidean lattices, and chiral conformal field theories. Here we show that quantum error-correcting codes, those of the stabilizer type, are related to Lorentzian lattices and non-chiral CFTs. More specifically, real self-dual stabilizer codes can be associated with even self-dual Lorentzian lattices, and thus define Narain CFTs. We dub the resulting theories code CFTs and study their properties. T-duality transformations of a code CFT, at the level of the underlying code, reduce to code equivalences. By means of such equivalences, any stabilizer code can be reduced to a graph code. We can …

This study evaluates the on use of crushed rocks (remineralizers) to increase soil fertility levels and which contributed to increase agricultural productivity, recovery of degraded areas, decontamination of water, and carbon sequestration. The use of these geological materials is part of the assumptions of rock technology and, indirectly, facilitates the achievement of sustainable development goals related to soil management, climate change, and the preservation of water resources. Research over the past 50 years on silicate rocks focused on soil fertility management and agricultural productivity. More recently, the combined use with microorganisms and organic correctives have shown positive results to mitigate …

We present a new formulation of the dynamical matrix method for computing the magnetic normal modes of a large system, resulting in a highly scalable approach. The motion equation, which takes into account external field, dipolar and ferromagnetic exchange interactions, is rewritten in the form of a generalized eigenvalue problem without any additional approximation. For its numerical implementation several solvers have been explored, along with preconditioning methods. This reformulation was conceived to extend the study of magnetization dynamics to a broader class of finer-mesh systems, such as three-dimensional, irregular or defective structures, which in recent times raised the interest among …

Generalized Fiducial Inference On The Mean Of Zero-Inflated Poisson And Poisson Hurdle Models, Yixuan Zou, Jan Hannig, Derek S. Young
Statistics Faculty Publications
Zero-inflated and hurdle models are widely applied to count data possessing excess zeros, where they can simultaneously model the process from how the zeros were generated and potentially help mitigate the effects of overdispersion relative to the assumed count distribution. Which model to use depends on how the zeros are generated: zero-inflated models add an additional probability mass on zero, while hurdle models are two-part models comprised of a degenerate distribution for the zeros and a zero-truncated distribution. Developing confidence intervals for such models is challenging since no closed-form function is available to calculate the mean. In this study, generalized …

Validation Of Icd-10-Cm Codes For Injuries Complicating Pregnancy, Childbirth And The Puerperium: A Medical Record Review, Anna Hansen, Dana Quesinberry, Peter Akpunonu, Julia Martin, Svetla Slavova
Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center Faculty Publications
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to estimate the positive predictive value (PPV) of International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) codes for injury, poisoning, physical or sexual assault complicating pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium (PCP) to capture injury encounters within both hospital and emergency department claims data.
METHODS: A medical record review was conducted on a sample (n=157) of inpatient and emergency department claims from one Kentucky healthcare system from 2015 to 2017, with any diagnosis in the ICD-10-CM range O9A.2-O9A.4. Study clinicians reviewed medical records for the sampled cases and used an abstraction form to …

Options For Managing Thin Alfalfa Stands, Jimmy C. Henning
Options For Managing Thin Alfalfa Stands, Jimmy C. Henning
Kentucky Alfalfa and Stored Forage Conference
Alfalfa is the highest yielding, highest quality hay crop grown in Kentucky. Well cured alfalfa and alfalfa-grass hay is in high demand for dairy and in particular, horse owners. Alfalfa stands in Kentucky remain productive from four to as long as 8 years or more depending on several factors. Long stand life is favored by:
- Using an improved variety with high resistance to the major diseases of Kentucky and that is proven to be high yielding in relevant trials such as conducted at the University of Kentucky.
- Deep, well drained soils,
- Soils that have been limed to pH 6.8 and …
