Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

Landslides frequently occur particularly in certain parts in our country as well as in the world. They sometimes turn into natural disaster and cause socio-economic losses in significant magnitude. In this study, the landslide susceptibility analysis was performed in a total area of 2360 km2 at 1/100,000 scale in map sheet of Çankırı-H30. According to the inventory map, 4,79% of the study area is formed of landslide areas and the movement type of available landslides are generally observed in the form of rotational slip. According to the database of the Turkish Landslide Inventory Map prepared by MTA, there are …

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

In the Çamardı (Niğde) region, Niğde Massif is composed of Palaeozoic-Mesozoic marble, gneiss and quartzite. The high-grade metamorphic rocks of the Massif are cut by Cretaceous granodiorites. These rocks are unconformably overlain by Paleocene-Eocene low-grade metamorphic rocks. Upper Cretaceous-Eocene flysch and island-arc type volcanic rocks tectonically overlie the above mentioned units. The youngest rocks in the area are Oligocene-Quaternary continental sedimentary and volcanic rocks. The rocks of the massif have been subjected to at least four ductile deformational events, that are designated as D1, D2, D3 and D4. The first phase of deformation produced recumbent isoclinal folds (F1-F2 folding) which …

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

This paper suggests that the structure known as “Beypazarı flexure / monocline” in the Turkish geology literature should be named as “Beypazarı fault-propagation folds”. Beypazarı, Kilci and Başören blind thrusts together with Erenler back thrust constitute the Beypazarı Blind Thrust Zone which is an active neotectonic structure as indicated by earthquake activity. NW-SE contraction created by the interaction between the North Anatolian Fault Zone, the Kırıkkale-Erbaa Fault Zone and the Eskişehir Fault Zone produced the Eldivan-Elmadağ Pinched Crustal Wedge, the Abdüsselam Pinched Crustal Wedge and the Beypazarı Blind Thrust Zone. These structures take up the internal deformation of the Anatolian …

Response To The “Reaction Of The Physical Transformation Of The Gravity Data And Linearity Dilemma”, Uğur Akin

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

There is not any filter such as the “apparent gravity linear filter”, which is mentioned by the criticizer, in the literature of geophysical potential methods.

The “apparent density filter” was used in the study. As the name implies; the crustal structure of Turkey was investigated in the article of “Investigation of the Seismic Velocity Distribution and the Crustal Structure of Turkey” (Akın, 2016). So; the article had different findings. The “Conrad discontinuity” has been one of the findings of this article. Or else; the distribution related to the Conrad discontinuity has not been the main topic of the article as …

Spatial Cluster And Outlier Identification Of Geochemical Association Of Elements: A Case Study In Juirui Copper Mining Area, Thanh Nguyen Ti̇en, Tuyen Vu Danh, Hung Tri̇nh Le Hung, Hang Nguyen Thi̇ Le Hang

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

Spatial clusters and spatial outliers play an important role in the study of the spatial distribution patterns of geochemical data. They characterize the fundamental properties of mineralization processes, the spatial distribution of mineral deposits, and ore element concentrations in mineral districts. In this study, a new method for the study of spatial distribution patterns of multivariate data is proposed based on a combination of robust Mahalanobis distance and local Moran’s Ii. In order to construct the spatial matrix, the Moran’s I spatial correlogram was first used to determine the range. The robust Mahalanobis distances were then computed for an association …
