Grammatical Structure Of Santa Ana Keresan, Irvine Davis
Grammatical Structure Of Santa Ana Keresan, Irvine Davis
Anthropology ETDs
It is hoped that the present study will contribute to the knowledge of the grammatical structure of Keresan, which to the present has received little systematic treatment. Published grammatical material is confined to Boas' annotated Laguna texts and Toomey's brief outline. Unpublished manuscripts include Spencer's Master's Thesis which contains considerable data but suffers from faulty transcription, a failure to keep the several dialects separate and a lack of an over-all structural analysis. At the present time a thorough analysis of Acoma Keresan is being undertaken by Wick R. Miller of the University of California.

The Life And Work Of Larry Gorman : A Preliminary Report, Edward D. Ives
Dr. Edward D. Ives Papers
Lawrence Gorman, "The Man Who Makes the Songs," was born in Trout River, Lot Thirteen, on the west end of Prince Edward Island in 1846. As a young man he worked on his father's farm, in the many shipyards along the Bideford and Trout Rivers, as a fisherman, and as a hand in the lobster factories along the shore from Cape Wolfe to Miminigash. Up to about 1885 (age forty), he spent many of his winters in the lumberwoods and his springs on the river drives, mostly along the Miramichi River in New Brunswick. Then he would usually return to …

IF we regard food as simply something that is necessary to maintain life, we are forced to the conclusion that basically there is very little difference between the delectable creations of a chef de cuisine and the scorched kangaroo and witchetygrubs enjoyed by the outback aborigines.
This is so patently untrue that we are encouraged to delve deeper into the subject.
