In the more general climate of post-truth - a social trend reflecting a disregard for reliable ways of knowing what is true, mostly acted through massive use of misinformation and rhetoric calling for emotions - an alarming “infodemic” accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting healthy attitudes and behaviors and further lessening trust in science, institutions, and traditional media. Its two main representative items, fake and conspiracy news, have been widely analyzed in psycho-social research, even if scholars mostly acknowledged the cognitive and social dimensions of those items and devoted less attention to their discursive construction. A peer-to-peer campaign explores what happens when a public-serving nonprofit challenges itself and utilizes its most valuable asset: Its community. The Miami Foundation should advance philanthropy through advanced data collection methods and narrative expression. This campaign intends to connect with past and potential donors to spread awareness and visibility. The primary activities will involve a twelve-month internet and social media strategy to expand donations and comprehension through an online campaign supporting online impact giving and a peer-to-peer approach.

The tools utilized by social media, including algorithms and curation of media feeds, contribute to media phenomenon such as filter bubbles and confirmation biases. These agents transfer from the digital world to the real world, negatively affecting our society, and changing our behaviors. Some examples include political polarization, imposter syndrome, and extremism. These attributes of social media also promote the spread of mis and dis- information, which can negatively impact our social and personal health.

Factors Contributing To Non-Compliance With Media Regulations Among Tv Operators In Kampala, Uganda, Moses Kasajja Ateng

This study investigates factors contributing to non-compliance among TV operators towards media regulation as per the 2013 Uganda Communications Commission ACT using the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). In-depth interviews were conducted with TV owners, legal officers, academia, broadcast engineers, managers, business development managers and content producers to establish the factors contributing to non-compliance. The findings show that attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioural control influence the behaviour of non-compliance. The results will help TV operators and regulator to understand the critical factors that influence non-compliance with media standards among TV operators and there are recommendations to help them improve …

Most people are familiar with the concept of Facebook video ads. Facebook offers enormous features to place in-feed video ads to promote products. An online survey was conducted at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. The survey looked for user motivations for viewing Facebook video ads. The conceptual framework for this study was chosen as the Uses and Gratifications Theory. Online incivility that occurs in the comment sections of social media sites has become increasingly prevalent. Much of this incivility occurs in the context of political debate. Previous research has indicated that heated political debates online can lead to increased levels of emotional distress and that individuals have the capacity to become addicted to a variety of activities that take place on the internet. Public communication is one of the most important aspects of a natural resource manager’s job, and social media has opened new channels of communication between agencies and their audiences. Not only do most agencies now maintain an overall social media presence, but units within agencies typically create unique social media pages. This research aims to study male consumers' brand equity of Chanel. A qualitative method was used to collect data through 12 in-depth interviews. The respondents are 12 Thai male millennials, who are aged between 23 - 38, living in Bangkok, Thailand, and have purchased a product from Chanel within the last 12 months. The findings of this study indicate that male consumers had a good brand recall of Chanel. Male consumers have a positive brand image of Chanel and view them as a timeless brand, a top-tier luxury brand that is expensive in comparison to other luxury brands on the …

This individual study explores the Filipino Consumer Perceptions of Thai Fashion Brand GENTLEWOMAN and the quality of the brand’s activism messaging through social media. The data was collected using in-depth interviews on 10 respondents, Filipino females, aged between 20 to 35, the average target consumer of GENTLEWOMAN products. The findings suggest that Filipino Consumers have a very positive perception of GENTLEWOMAN. They find the price to be good, regardless of whether it was purchased through the gray market or through official distribution. The objective of the paper is to study the effects of perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEU) and perceived enjoyment (PE), perceived cyber risks (PCR) of AI chatbots on the purchase intention (PI) of EVs among consumers in China. The study is conducted in a quantitative approach by using online questionnaires as a tool to collect data from 300 Shanghai based respondents, aged between 31-40, and have intention or experience using AI chatbots or EVs. This survey research examines the influences of millennial consumers' perceived value and attitude on usage intentions towards spa. An online questionnaire was developed to collect data from 207 male and female respondents, aged between 27 and 39 years, living in Thailand, with prior experience of at least one spa within the last six months. The research findings indicated that, in terms of perceived value, the most dominant dimension among the respondents is social value, followed by functional value, value for money, and emotional value, respectively. As rampage school shootings continue to occur in the United States, media coverage of such shootings continues to evolve. Media is a powerful force for how people form their understandings, opinions, and beliefs and, at least in part, the types of media they consume, it is important to understand how rampage school shootings are conveyed to the public. These shootings go through what is known as an “Issue-Attention Cycle” (Downs 1972) as coverage progresses.
