Referral Information Preferences In The West Virginia Vocational Rehabilitation Program, Donald George Auer

Theses, Dissertations and Capstones

Public Law 565 in 1954 affected the placement activities provided for the handicapped by State Employment Security (ES) agencies following vocational rehabilitation services rendered by State Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) agencies. Problems relating to standardization and uniformity in referral transmittals of handicapped persons between the two agencies would be expected to arise. With effective and sustained employment of clients following placement service a mutual goal of both agencies, it is important that each group should agree to basic psychological, vocational, social, educational and medical referral items and methodology involved. The Relationship Of Skin Conductance To Behavior In A Vigilance Task, David Stea Sep 1960

The Relationship Of Skin Conductance To Behavior In A Vigilance Task, David Stea

Psychology ETDs

The present study is an attempt to measure the correlation between "vigilance", as indicated by signal detection, and the galvanic skin response (GSR). The following four dependent variables were measured:

(a) Galvanic skin response (continuously recorded, although discrete values were later selected for measurement);

(b) ommission errors (where S fails to detect a signal which has occurred);

(c) commission errors (or "false detections", where S detects a signal which has not in fact occurred); and

(d) reaction times to signals.

The major purpose of the present study was, in part, to replicate the Ross, Dardano, and Hackman study utilizing more …

The Effects Of Water Deprivation On The Body Weight, Food Intake And Water Intake Of The Albino Rat, Kenneth A. Blick Jul 1960

The Effects Of Water Deprivation On The Body Weight, Food Intake And Water Intake Of The Albino Rat, Kenneth A. Blick

Master's Theses

A survey of the literature reveals a substantial body of research concerned with the effects of food and/or water deprivation on body weight, food and water intake, and activity of the albino rat. This research is important because many psychological experiments, particularly those studies in the field of animal learning in which motivation is induced by the use of a nutritional maintenance schedule, require some measurement of performance on consecutive days during which the rats are in a motivational state.

An Experimental Investigation Of The Differential Effects Of Hypnotic, Post-Hypnotic And Waking Suggestion On Learning, With Tasks Varied In Complexity, Herman Carl Salzberg Jun 1960

An Experimental Investigation Of The Differential Effects Of Hypnotic, Post-Hypnotic And Waking Suggestion On Learning, With Tasks Varied In Complexity, Herman Carl Salzberg

Doctoral Dissertations

Introduction: This study was designed to test, first of all, whether there were any differential learning effects following hypnotic, post-hypnotic, and waking suggestion. Secondly, the investigation was designed to test whether learning following suggestion increased or decreased differentially when learning tasks varied in complexity. Finally, the study was set up to find out whether there was a difference between the quality and quantity of learning following suggestion. A large number of the features of previous experiments in the area of hypnosis and learning were combined. As past experimenters found contradictory results, no hypotheses were forwarded regarding the outcome of this …
