Hillsborough County's future physical growth will be built upon the base comprised of the existing development pattern : (a) Although the geographic location of Hillsborough is unalterable, man-made improvements to the natural setting are required to adapt the land form to present and future functions. Large scale drainage and hurricane protection improvements are essential to adequately adapt low- lying coastal sections to the expanding pattern of community development. The Army Technical Services were bureaus within the Headquarters, Department of the Army, which supplied weapons, equipment, and services to the Army, managed the careers of …

Ideas For A Better City, University Of Tennessee. Municipal Technical Advisory Service
Ideas For A Better City, University Of Tennessee. Municipal Technical Advisory Service
MTAS History
MTAS receives virtually all periodicals in the field of municipal government and also obtains many other publications in this field. In the aggregate these contain a "mass of information'' (when trying to sift, classify and assimilate, we sometimes wish it were much less in quantity!). These materials are routed to staff members for their examination; in this process they mark any items that appear to be noteworthy, and Mrs. Bush writes the summaries for this publication.
We hope that this "catalog of municipal ideas" will be useful to the officials of cities and towns in Tennessee and elsewhere.

The first chapter will survey the geographical and historical background of the San Joaquin River.
The emphasis will be placed on the river's use for navigation. Since the upper, southern third of the San Joaquin Valley does not drain into the San Joaquin River, only those areas between the Kings River on the south …
