Land Reform In China (1911-1953), Chen-Hung Keong
Land Reform In China (1911-1953), Chen-Hung Keong
Masters Theses
[From Chapter I]
The significance of the Chinese land reform consists in the elimination of the landlord-gentry class and redistribution of land among the peasantry. It is, therefore, necessary to evaluate the following matters, before discussing land reform itself.
1. Since Confucianism has dominated the Chinese minds for about two thousand years, it will be useful to examine its impact on both the landlord-gentry class and the peasantry.
2. In the Chinese history, the landlord-gentry class constantly played an important and active role in social, economic and political affairs. A study of its origin, development, and structure will …

A Geographic Study Examining The Major Elements Involved In The Rise Of Cotton Production In Southeast Missouri 1922-1925, Charles E. Hudson
A Geographic Study Examining The Major Elements Involved In The Rise Of Cotton Production In Southeast Missouri 1922-1925, Charles E. Hudson
Masters Theses
The delta area of Missouri comprises the seven counties in the southeastern part of the state. These counties form the only area in Missouri where cotton is widely produced. Although cotton was grown in the region as early as 1850, the delta area did not become a major cotton producer until 1922. For a number of years prior to 1922 certain elements, including soil and topography, climate, forest clearance, land drainage, and the influx of farmers prior to 1920, formed a potential favorable to large-scale cotton production, yet none occurred. For an increase in production to occur some element had …

A Study Of The Accuracy Of Prediction Motion In Depth, Neal I. Gelfand
A Study Of The Accuracy Of Prediction Motion In Depth, Neal I. Gelfand
Masters Theses
The study examined the effects of five variables: knowledge of results, distance, stimulus gradient, target speed, and temporal delay (a measure of temporal relationship between the target and standard) on the accuracy with which 3s could predict the arrival of a moving target at the position of a stationary standard.
The results of an analysis of variance on the data obtained from 52 Ss indicated that the variables of knowledge of results, distance.- speed, and temporal delay had statistically significant effects; but no statistical significance was indicated for effects of the gradient variable. Three statistically significant interactions were also indicated: …
