Intrinsic Religiousness And Religious Coping As Life Stress Moderators For Catholics Versus Protestants, Lisa Smith, Crystal Park, Lawrence Cohen
Intrinsic Religiousness And Religious Coping As Life Stress Moderators For Catholics Versus Protestants, Lisa Smith, Crystal Park, Lawrence Cohen
Lisa Smith
Two prospective studies were conducted to test the stress-moderating effects of intrinsic religiousness and overall religious coping on the depression and trait anxiety of Catholic and Protestant college students. Both studies found a significant cross-sectional interaction between controllable life stress and religious coping in the prediction of Catholics' depression, with religious coping serving a protective function at a high level of controllable negative events. Both studies also found a significant prospective interaction between uncontrollable life stress and intrinsic religiousness in the prediction of Protestants' depression; the relationship between uncontrollable stress and depression was positive for low intrinsic Protestants, flat for …

In 1985, the first computer-to-computer distribution of name authority records for cataloging was made through the Linked Systems Project (LSP), a networking tool that links the computer systems of the Library of Congress, the Research Libraries Group (RLG), and OCLC. Since then, two other LSP capabilities-record contribution and intersystem searching-have been implemented, providing the means for national sharing of name authority data among diverse systems.

Taiwan's Economic Development, Liwen Chang
Taiwan's Economic Development, Liwen Chang
Theses
Development, by definition, brings new resources into a society that allow for a higher standard of living. Many developing nations which changed from a traditional survival type society to a self-supporting society experienced a high rate of economic growth after the World War II. This paper presents a case study of Taiwan as a developing country's model. Taiwan certainly qualifies as a successful example of development. Although there is really no complete normative …

The Effect Of Psychotherapy On Spiritual Well-Being And Depression In Outpatient Adults, Thomas Wilson Renfroe Jr.
The Effect Of Psychotherapy On Spiritual Well-Being And Depression In Outpatient Adults, Thomas Wilson Renfroe Jr.
Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)

This investigation examined depression, as measured by the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and a general measure of spiritual health, as represented by the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWB) . Data was collected at the beginning of treatment and …
