Testimony which will focus on the scope of the legislation's proposed shield against noneconomic damages with respect to the plaintiffs whose claims would be affected, the corporate defendants that would benefit from the shield, and the types of injuries that would be shielded. This measure is so vast in scope that it reaches every conceivable health care claim against every health care corporation or manufacturer of health care products, regardless of whether the violation of law in question bears any relationship to what would reasonably be considered the types of injury commonly associated with the concept of medical liability. Toni Smith, the Manhattanville College senior basketball player has been turning her back on the flag during the playing of the national anthem for the past several weeks. In recent days as America gears up for a war the protest against her protest has been growing. Last weekend Toni Smith was confronted on the floor by a Vietnam veteran toting an American flag that he shoved in her face.

The Anchor: 2003
The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). As of Fall 2019 The Anchor has moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

The issue of how and sometimes even if we should expend p ublic dollars to support the development of small rural communities continues to receive attention at the federal and state levels, especially throughout the Great Plains.
