Employee Financial Wellness Programs (EF-WPs) consist of a wide array of workplace-based services and benefits that aim to enhance em-ployees’ financial well-being, such as in-person financial coaching, online financial management tools, and payroll advances or short-term loans. EFWP provision varies across employers with few organizations offering the same set of services. The recently released Employee Financial Well-ness Programs Project: Comprehensive Report of Findings notes that EFWP utilization rates and employee self-reported benefits also vary widely. ระบบนิเวศเมือง (urban ecology) มีความหลากหลายขององค์ประกอบภูมิทัศน์ ซึ่งเกิดจากการรวมกลุ่มกันขององค์ประกอบทางธรรมชาติและองค์ประกอบที่มนุษย์สร้างขึ้นดังจะเห็นได้จากสิ่งปกคลุมดิน (land cover)ในพื้นที่เมือง ทั้งอาคาร พื้นดาดแข็ง พืชพรรณ และน้ำ ประกอบกันเป็นผืนโมเสก (mosaic) หรือผืนภูมิทัศน์ขององค์ประกอบที่หลากหลาย (Forman, 1986) ดังนั้น การทำความเข้าใจองค์ประกอบภูมิทัศน์ของเมืองโดยการจำแนกสิ่งปกคลุมดินจึงมีความสำคัญ เพื่อให้สามารถเข้าใจถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างโครงสร้างและรูปแบบขององค์ประกอบภูมิทัศน์ (landscape element) กับบทบาทเชิงนิเวศ (landscape function)และการบริการเชิงนิเวศ (ecosystem services) ของแต่ละองค์ประกอบได้ ซึ่งจะสามารถนำมาใช้เป็นข้อมูลพื้นฐานเพื่อช่วยในการวางแผนและออกแบบระบบนิเวศเมืองให้เหมาะสมและสอดคล้องกับกระบวนการเชิงนิเวศซึ่งจะส่งผลดีต่อการดำรงชีวิตของมนุษย์ และคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีต่อคนในพื้นที่เมืองต่อไป

การออกแบบพัฒนากังหันพลังน้ำเพื่อเศรษฐกิจแบบพอเพียง หมู่บ้านโป่งลึก-บ้านบางกลอย, สุพรรณี บุญเพ็ง

บ้านโป่งลก (หมู่ที่ 2) และบ้านบางกลอย (หมู่ที่ 1) อยู่ในตำบลห้วยแม่เพรียง อำเภอแก่งกระจาน จังหวัดเพชรบุรี ห่างจากที่ทำการอุทยานแห่งชาติแก่งกระจานประมาณ 50 กิโลเมตร บริเวณที่ตั้งของหมู่บ้านติดอยู่กับแม่นํ้าเพชรบุรีตอนต้น พื้นที่มีความสูงจากระดับนํ้าทะเลปานกลางประมาณ 150 เมตร (กรมอุทยานแห่งชาติ สัตว์ป่าและพันธ์พืช, 2560) ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่ในทั้งสองหมู่บ้านเป็นชาวปกาเกอะญอที่ย้ายลงมาจากบางกลอยบน (หรือกเรียกว่า ใจแผ่นดิน) มีชวิตความเป็นอยู่ที่เรียบง่าย ประกอบอาชีพเกษตรกรรม มีความเชื่อในเรื่องผีสาง นางไม้ เจ้าที่เจ้าทาง เจ้าป่า เจ้าเขา และนับถือศาสนาพุทธและคริสต์ แม่น้ำเพชรบุรี เปรียบเสมือนสายธารแห่งชีวิตของคนในพื้นที่บ้านโป่งลึก-บ้านบางกลอย ปัญหาที่สำคัญมากปัญหาหนึ่ง ของชุมชนบ้านโป่งลึก-บ้านบางกลอย คือ การผันน้ำจากแม่นํ้าเพชรบุรีขึ้นมาใช้ในการอุปโภคบริโภคและเพื่อการเกษตรกรรม เนื่องจากพื่นที่พักอาศัยและพื้นที่ทำกินของชุมชนที่ได้รับสิทธิในการถือครองที่ดินเพื่อการทำกินนั้น (พื่นที่ CN) เป็นพื้นที่ ที่อยู่ในระดับที่สูงกว่าแม่นํ้าเพชรบุรีมาก นอกจากนั้น การที่ไฟฟ้าและน้ำประปายังเข้าไม่ถึง ทำให้การทำเกษตรกรรม สามารถทำได้เฉพาะในฤดูฝน เท่านั้น ส่งผลใหัรายได้ต่อครัวเรือนอยู่ในระดับต่ำ แต่ละครัวเรือนจึงมีฐานะยากจน จึงมีการเข้าไปทำงานรับจ้างใช้แรงงานในเมืองแทนการทำเกษตรกรรมกันเป็นจำนวนมาก แต่อย่างไรก็ตามยังคงมี อีกร้อยกว่าหลังคาเรือนที่ยังคงอาศัยอยู่ในหมู่บ้านและส่วนใหญ่ยังประกอบอาชีพเกษตรกรรม ซึ่งมีความจำเป็นต้อง ใช้น้ำในการอุปโภคบริโภคและเกษตรกรรม โดยวิธีการผันน้ำ/ดึงน้ำขึ้นไปใช้ โดยการใช้เครื่องปั๊มนํ้าแบบเครื่องยนต์ที่ต้อง ใช้น้ำมันเข้ามาใช้ในหมู่บ้าน ซึ่งมีทั้งที่เป็นของส่วนรวมและมีเพียงไม่กี่เครื่องที่เป็นของส่วนตัว ในปัจจุบัน การสูบนํ้าเพื่อใช้ในระบบประปาหมู่บ้านมีการใช้พลังงานจากแสงอาทิตย์ (solar cell) เป็นหลัก ชึ่งได้รับการสนับสนุนงบประมาณจากหน่วยงานต่าง ๆ ทั้งนี้ การใช้พลังงานจากแสงอาทิตย์เพื่อสูบนํ้าจะขึ้นอยู่กับแสงแดดที่มีในแต่ละวัน หากวันใดเเสงแดดน้อยหรือไม่มีแสงแดดจะไม่สามารถสูบน้ำได้ นอกจากนั้น ปั๊มเครื่องสูบนํ้าชนิดจุ่มหรือปั๊มซับเมอร์ส (submersible pump) ยังพบว่าเกิดปัญหาบ่อย ๆ ระบบการทำงานในช่วงแรกที่ยังไม่เสถียรนัก ทำให้ไม่สามารถสูบน้ำขึ้นมาได้ในปริมาณที่มากพอกับความต้องการใช้น้ำได้ จึงเกิดผลกระทบกับเกษตรกรที่ทำการเพาะปลูกหลังทำนา ซึ่งไม่สามารกทำการเกษตรได้ตลอดปี อีกทั้ง เชลล์ผลิตพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์เป็นอุปกรณ์ที่มีราคาแพงและยากต่อการช่อมบำรุง ด้วยตนเอง ดังนั้น การใช้กังหันพลังน้ำ จึงเป็นทางเลือกอีกทางหนึ่งสำหรับเกษตรกรในพื้นที่

การพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีทางชีวภาพที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการใช้ประโยชน์จากชีวมวลพืช เป็นยุทธศาสตร์ที่สำคัญประการหนึ่งต่อการพัฒนาประเทศในปัจจุบัน เนื่องจากประเทศไทยมีพื้นฐานทางเศรษฐกิจ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับอุตสาหกรรมเกษตรทำให้มีของเสียรอกำจัดหลังการแปรรูปจำนวนมาก ซึ่งระบบการจัดการส่วนใหญ่นิยม เผาเพื่อทำลายหรือให้ได้พลังงานกลับมาใช้ในโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมซึ่งสร้างมลภาวะแก่สิ่งแวดล้อม รวมทั้งเป็นการใช้ประโยชน์ อย่างไม่เต็มศักยภาพ เนื่องจากชีวมวลพืชเหล่านี้ประกอบด้วยสารอินทรีย์ที่มีคุณค่าทางเศรษฐกิจ จึงเป็นแหล่งวัตถุดิบ ที่สามารถผลิตพลังงานทางเลือกและสารที่มีมูลค่าในเชิงอุตสาหกรรมได้ ดังนั้นทางหน่วยปฏิบัติการวิจัยการใช้ประโยชน์ จากชีวมวลพืช ภาควิชาพฤกษศาสตร์ จึงมุ่งเน้นในการวิจัยถึงศักยภาพของชีวมวลพืชที่พบในประเทศต่อการนำไปใช้ เป็นแหล่งวัตถุดิบ รวมทั้งพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีและกระบวนการผลิตสารมีมูลค่าที่เหมาะสมต่อชีวมวลพืชแต่ละชนิด โดยจุดมุ่งหมายในการวิจัยเพื่อใช้ประโยชน์ชีวมวลพืชอย่างสูงสุดโดยที่มีผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมน้อยที่สุดและคุ้มทุนในการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีสู่ภาคอุตสาหกรรมต่อไป

ปัจจุบันสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืชืถูกนำมาใช้งานอย่างแพร่หลายทำให้ผลผลิติที่ได้มีโอกาสปนเปื้อนสารเคมีเหล่านี้ ซึ่งส่งผลต่อสุขภาพและความปลอดภัยของผู้บริโภค การตรวจวัดสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืชด้วยเทคนิคที่รวดเร็วและมีประสิทธิภาพในการคัดกรอง จะมีส่วนช่วยลดความเสี่ยงที่ผู้บริโภคจะได้รับจากสารเคมีดังกล่าว ในงานวิจัยนี้คณะผู้วิจัยได้พัฒนาตัวรับรู้ชีวภาพ (biosensor) ในรูปแบบใหม่สำหรับตรวจวัดยาฆ่าแมลงกลุ่มออร์แกโนฟอสเฟต(Organophosphate Pesticides: OPs) อย่างจำเพาะมุ่งเน้นการศึกษากราฟีนควอนตัมดอท (GrapheneQuantum Dots: GQDs) ซึ่งเป็นวัสดุในระดับนาโนที่ให้สัญญาณแสงฟลูออเรสเซนต์สูง เตรียมง่าย ราคาถูกอีกทั้งไม่เป็นพิษต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยได้นำเอากลไกการยับยั้ง การทำงานของเอนไซม์ชนิดอะซิติลโคลีนเอสเทอเรส(Acetylcholinesterase: AChE) ซึ่งมีมากในระบบประสาทของสิ่งมีชีวิตมาประยุกต์ใช้ โดยอาศัยบทบาทการทำงานของเอนไซม์ 2 ชนิด คือ อะซิติลโคลีนเอสเทอเรสและโคลีนเอสเทอเรส (Cholinesterase: CHOx) ซึ่งจะผลิตไฮโดรเจนเปอร์ออกไซด์ (H2O2) ณ สภาวะปกติ ในขณะเดียวกันการผลิตไฮโดรเจนเปอร์ออกไซด์ที่ลดลงเมื่อ มีออร์แกโนฟอสเฟตในระบบ จะส่งผลต่อสัญญาณแสงฟลูออเรสเซนต์ของกราฟีนควอนตัมดอท นำไปสู่การตรวจวัดหาปริมาณของยาฆ่าแมลงกลุ่มออร์แกโนฟอสเฟตได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ โดยความรู้และข้อมูลที่ได้จากงานวิจัยนี้จะมีส่วนสำคัญในการตรวจวัดหาปริมาณยาฆ่าแมลงในอาหาร แหล่งน้ำ และสิ่งแวดล้อมอื่นๆ ได้ในอนาคต

Black males are overrepresented in US large jails, and this overrepresentation may extend into their isolations units, or DHUs. While overrepresentation in prison populations has been explored and well documented in academic literature. Far less is known about overrepresentation in jail populations where prisoners serve far less time, and in some cases, may not yet be convicted of crimes. The study analyzed the classification of adult male prisoners to DHU within large jails. This study assesses the vulnerability of farm households in the Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. Fifty-nine farm households were purposively sampled to conduct a questionnaire survey, and secondary data were collected in 2016. In order to assess variability in household vulnerability, the Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI), based on five types of 'capital' as identified in the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework, was adopted and modified according to the local context. Vulnerability scores ranged from 0 (low vulnerability) to 1 (highly vulnerable), with an average LVI of 0.442, indicating moderate overall vulnerability across the study area. Habitat destruction and degradation in the tropics have led to a dramatic increase in altered habitats. Understanding the impacts of these disturbed areas on biodiversity will be critical to future conservation efforts. Despite heavy deforestation, Southeast Asia is underrepresented in studies investigating faunal communities in human-modified landscapes. This project assessed the herpetofaunal community in dry dipterocarp forest, secondary disturbed forest, and Eucalyptus plantations in the Sakaerat Biosphere Reserve. In May, June, and September of 2015, we surveyed using 10 passive trapping arrays. The CDC estimated that rates of children’s physical activity are extremely low which could lead to various health problems (e.g., hypertension, lipid disorders). Fortunately, previous research has demonstrated that peers, specifically peers identified as preferred, might influence children’s levels of physical activity. However, this variable has not been experimentally manipulated. The purpose of the current study was to assess the effects of peer presence on the MVPA exhibited by kindergarten children, by exposing participants to peers identified as preferred. Play Like You Mean It: Motivational Predictors Of Female Student Athletes' Practice And Game Performance, Zipporah Rebekah Foster

The current study explores how motivational reasons for goals influence athletic performance on a women's basketball team. The purpose of the current study was to expand on past research associated with fluctuation of motivation in practice and game performance throughout a season. Participants (n = 15) in the current study were female student-athletes, who completed a motivational survey that measured Relationally-Autonomous Reasons (RARs), Personally-Autonomous Reasons (PARs), and Controlled Reasons (CRs). Athletic performance was measured by examining daily practice performance and game statistics for each athlete. The results of the current study showed that RARs were associated with game performance (p < .05), however PARs and CRs were not. RARs were positively associated with game performance whereas PARs were not. The association for RARs and game performance was stronger than RARs and practice performance. Overall, the findings confirm that RARs are associated with game performance in women's sports.

The primary researcher sought to determine whether different genres of music would differentially influence measures of autonomic nervous system activity (heart rate, galvanic skin response) while viewing visual stimuli in a sample of college students. All participants listened to the same songs and music genres and viewed the same International Affective Picture System (IAPS) images. Autonomic nervous system activity was recorded by attaching electrodes to participants' non-dominant hand and torso. Music order presentation and picture order presentation were randomly determined by E-Prime. The transition to college is a critical period in a young adult's life. Education about obesity and physical activity has significant effects on lifetime wellness before graduating and reaching adulthood. The purpose of this study was to examine exercise benefits and barriers of overweight, obese, and normal weight college students. Participants (n = 595) were college students who completed a questionnaire and whose body composition was measured. Results of this study revealed significant differences in perceived exercise benefits and barriers based on weight group. Evaluating the lives of persons whose daily occupations involve working with animals contributes to the exploration of human-animal co-occupations. The aim of this research was to understand the lifestyle of International 4-in-Hand Combined Driving grooms and their symbiotic relationship with horses. This qualitative descriptive study used three methods for data collection and triangulation: semi-structured interviews, observation, and photographs, from 4 participants who served as gatekeepers understanding the culture surrounding the driving community. Previous research has examined visual-statistical learning at the individual level but have used measurements which are not sensitive enough to detect differences at the individual level. This study investigates temporal visual-statistical learning but uses a recently modified task designed to be more sensitive to individual performance. This study also incorporated an indirect measure of learning in the form of a rapid serial visual presentation paradigm (RSVP), a cover task, and binary confidence judgments, to assess how aware participants were of the statistical structure. For new occupational therapists, finding balance between the demands of work and their personal lives is challenging. The transition from student to practitioner is filled with uncertainty as new therapists try to meet the demands of working in a continuously changing environment. Research describing how new therapists define and experience balance in their own daily lives is currently missing in the literature. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to describe the experiences of novice occupational therapists in creating occupational balance while working in the healthcare system.
