The increase of traffic on major U.S. roadways has motivated the implementation of new technologies and better management of the transportation infrastructure, including managed lanes on freeways. Dedicated truck lanes, a type of managed lane, are increasingly attracting attention since truck freight is continuously increasing and trucks have greater impact on traffic flow relatively to cars. Truck-only managed lanes allow trucks to travel at their own speeds in an exclusive lane with no passenger vehicles on the way; likewise, vehicles on the main lanes of the freeway will have fewer trucks to travel with.

The yield spread has been found to serve as a valuable economic forecasting tool. This research employs dynamic autoregressive probit downturn models using the United States yield spread and other regional and macroeconomic variables. This study then inspects the predictive power of the United States yield spread on the five largest urban economies in Texas, the four largest metropolitan areas along the Texas-Mexico border, as well as the Texas state economy. The problem addressed in this study was the lack of accurate estimates of race as a predictor of recidivism risk in the United States, after taking demographics and criminal variables into account. Binge eating and drinking have been studied with respect to stress, anxiety, and depression, but little is known about the emerging phenomenon of binge watching television programming. Guided by escape theory and the uses and gratification theory, this cross-sectional, correlational study addressed multivariate relations of binge drinking, binge eating, and binge watching with depression, anxiety, and stress among 102 college students ages 18 to 24. Multivariate canonical correlation results revealed that participants with low anxiety scores tended to have low scores on binge eating and drinking but high scores on binge watching. The purpose of this quantitative study was to determine to what extent the 4 M-PULSE scale scores (interpersonal difficulties, unprofessional conduct, discharge of weapon, and inappropriate use of weapon) account for variance in the MMPI-2RF (aggression and antisocial) subscales scores. Archival data was provided by a private business that conducts these screenings for multiple law enforcement organizations (local and state). การปรับโครงสร้างทางการเมืองของรัฐไทยให้เป็นรัฐราชการที่เข้มแข็งขึ้นเกิดภายหลังการยึดอำนาจรัฐบาลนายกรัฐมนตรีทักษิณ ชินวัตร ใน พ.ศ.2549 ทำให้ตลอดระยะเวลากว่าทศวรรษ (พ.ศ.2549-2560)รัฐไทยยังคงไม่สามารถแก้ปัญหาเศรษฐกิจ ความชอบธรรมในการใช้อำนาจ ความมั่นคง และการพัฒนาประชาธิปไตย บทความนี้นำเสนอโครงสร้างอำนาจที่เกิดจากระบอบประชาธิปไตยแบบไทย ๆ ของรัฐราชการไทย ด้วยการอธิบายเปรียบเทียบพัฒนาการเชิงสถาบัน โดยใช้มุมมองจากแนวคิดสถาบันนิยมใหม่เชิงประวัติศาสตร์เป็นหลัก เสริมด้วยแนวคิดความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างรัฐและสังคม และแนวคิดโครงสร้างนิยม จากการศึกษาพบว่าระบอบประชาธิปไตยแบบไทย ๆ เป็นการสถาปนาเผด็จการอำนาจนิยมทั้งในรัฐธรรมนูญและค่านิยมของสังคมเพื่อแก้ปัญหาความขัดแย้งทางการเมือง แต่ระบอบดังกล่าวต้องทนต่อแรงกดดันทั้งภายในและภายนอกรัฐที่บังคับให้แสดงกระบวนการประชาธิปไตย จึงสร้างองค์กรอิสระให้เป็นเครื่องมือใหม่ในการตรวจสอบและคานอำนาจสถาบันทางการเมือง โดยมีกองทัพเป็นผู้บริหารประเทศและเครือข่ายนักกฎหมายปรับโครงสร้างทางสังคม ซึ่งรัฐบาลทหารได้ใช้กลไกระบบราชการกำหนดและนำนโยบายไปสู่การปฏิบัติและยังคงผลิตค่านิยมแบบศักดินาราชูปถัมภ์ครอบทับสังคมไทย เพื่อสร้างความเข้มแข็งให้แก่รัฐราชการไทย แม้ว่ารัฐไทยจะมีการเลือกตั้งและได้รัฐบาลที่มาจากการเลือกตั้งก็ตาม แต่ระบอบประชาธิปไตยแบบไทย ๆ ที่ฝังลึกในสังคมมานานจะคอยขัดขวางการพัฒนาประชาธิปไตยและดึงให้รัฐไทยให้กลับไปสู่วงจรรัฐประหารและระบอบเผด็จการอำนาจนิยมอีกครั้ง

การมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองในประเทศไทย : การทำให้เป็นประชาธิปไตยด้วยการงบประมาณแบบมีส่วนร่วม, รัฐศิรินทร์ วังกานนท์

งานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์สามประการ คือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพการมีส่วนร่วมในกระบวนการงบประมาณขององค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นในประเทศไทย 2) เพื่อวิเคราะห์บทบาทของการงบประมาณแบบมีส่วนร่วมต่อการทำให้เป็นประชาธิปไตย 3) เพื่อนำเสนอรูปแบบที่เหมาะสมของการนำงบประมาณแบบมีส่วนร่วมมาใช้ในประเทศไทยด้วยการศึกษาจากกรณีศึกษา 3 แห่ง ผลการศึกษาพบว่า แม้ว่าองค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นได้ส่งเสริมให้เกิดการมีส่วนร่วมในการบริหารงานแล้วก็ตาม แต่กระบวนการจัดทำงบประมาณยังไม่เป็นไปตามหลักการของการงบประมาณแบบมีส่วนร่วมตามที่ได้ดำเนินการในประเทศต้นแบบหลายประเทศ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งคือไม่ได้ใช้กระบวนการปรึกษาหารือในการตัดสินใจกำหนดงบประมาณอย่างไรก็ตามการงบประมาณแบบมีส่วนร่วมมีโอกาสนำมาซึ่งผลลัพธ์ที่พึงปรารถนาซึ่งสอดคล้องกับหลักการทำให้เป็นประชาธิปไตย และเพื่อให้บรรลุเป้าประสงค์จำเป็นต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือจากทุกฝ่าย ปรับทัศนคติของผู้เกี่ยวข้อง ตลอดจนการพัฒนากลไกทางกฎหมายที่เหมาะสม

In this study, extracellular biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was carried out using Alternaria alternata. AgNPs were synthesized using vegetative and cell-free filtrate methods. Silver nitrate (AgNO3) solution was reduced with fungal mycelial mass and cell-free filtrate at a ratio of 1:4 (v/v). Further, the effects of biosynthesis parameters (reaction time, reaction temperature, light and dark incubation, and static and agitated conditions) were determined. The structural integrity of the synthesized AgNPs was investigated through UV-visible spectrophotometry, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). This study investigated the adsorption kinetics of 1-nitronaphthalene solution (a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, PAH) onto seven different masses of activated carbon. The coefficient of determination (r2) was used to determine the best-fit kinetic model and to confirm agreement between experimental data and the kinetic rate equations. The results indicated that adsorption could be defined with masses of 0.0200 g and 0.0501 g when fitted using a second order rate equation. Adsorption on to masses of 0.1003 g, 0.1203, 0.1501 g, and 0.2001 g was best defined when data were fitted to a pseudo second order rate equation. However, adsorption onto …
