Nursing And Pharmacy Students Create Mock Codes Together, Mark D. Weinstein

Cedarville University senior nursing students and third-year professional pharmacy students will participate in a multidisciplinary mock code on March 10 and 11.
A mock code is a simulation in which students practice what to do when a patient isn’t breathing and doesn’t have a heartbeat. The nursing and pharmacy students will use an advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) experience to learn how to bring a patient back to a stable status.

National Publication Ranks Cedarville's Online Masters Program Among Best In Country; Second In Ohio, Mark D. Weinstein

Cedarville University’s online Master of Education program gained high marks by BestColleges.com in a national ranking of programs. In the 2015 ranking, Cedarville’s program ranked 23rd in the United States and is the second-highest ranked program in Ohio. Franciscan University of Steubenville was ranked 22nd.
Schools are ranked according to admissions, enrollment and graduation and retention rates. Schools within these rankings outperform other schools in education quality and also have higher retention and graduation rates than all other accredited public and private schools offering master’s degrees.

A scholarship for business students at Cedarville University received a significant boost with the successful completion of a fundraising campaign that netted $110,000 for the Micah 6:8 scholarship. This endowed scholarship will help 15 current business students with their college expenses as they pursue being strong, Christ-centered leaders in their profession.

Cedars, the student newspaper at Cedarville University, won awards in eight categories to accumulate enough points to win the Frank E. Deaner Award for Excellence in Collegiate Journalism. Trustees Approve Faculty, Financial Aid Increase, Mark D. Weinstein

Faculty decisions and the 2015-16 budget were the two main items when Cedarville University’s Board of Trustees convened its January 2015 meeting. The Trustees approved the hiring of four faculty members, its 2015-16 budget, which includes tuition, room and board costs.
Cedarville’s operating budget for 2015-16 will rise to $112.6 million--$890,000 higher than the current budget. The new budget includes an increase of $3.145 million for financial aid and a three percent increase for tuition, room and board. The 2015-16 cost will be $33,748.

Derek Antrican, a senior mechanical engineering major at Cedarville University, developed a program to make Google Calendar easier to use and more personalized.
In Google Calendar, changing the details of a recurring event is a one-step process, but altering 50 unrelated events previously meant doing each one individually. Antrican, originally from Salem, Oregon, came up with the idea for this program a few years ago when he was trying to organize his class schedule. He had downloaded his schedule from Cedarville’s website into his Google Calendar, but noticed that the class names were still labeled by the numbers used online …

Cedarville University will host the ninth annual Family Literacy Night at Cedar Cliff Elementary School on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. This event is open to all families of students in kindergarten through fifth grade at Cedar Cliff.

Cedarville University School of Pharmacy will host a policy forum on healthcare legislation with State Representatives Rick Perales and Bob Hackett along with Antonio Ciaccia, director of government and public affairs from the Ohio Pharmacist Association. The event, open to the public, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5, in the Health Sciences Center in Room 107 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
