Women And Domestic Violence: The Presence Of Internalized Shame In Women Residing In A Crisis Shelter, Joni M. Moon

This study was implemented in order to ascertain the presence of internalized shame among women residing in a domestic violence crisis shelter. Domestic violence has been determined to be a major social and public health problem for women. Leaving an abusive environment may be difficult due to economic, social, and emotional factors. Women often describe emotional abuse as having more detrimental effects on well-being than physical abuse. Shame is an affect that leads to a negative view of the self and shame-prone women view themselves as deficient and unworthy. The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). As of Fall 2019 The Anchor has moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

On December 16, 2002 the Governors of Kansas and Nebraska announced that the states had settled their lawsuit over the 1943 Republican River compact. The settlement marked the end of the interstate lawsuit which originated in May 1998. The settlement represented a compromise between Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado, and was significantly good for Nebraska.

In January 2001, a three-year Indigency Screener pilot project was initiated in Lancaster County for the purposes of assessing:
1) The advisability of a uniform rule developed to clarify defendant eligibility for courtappointed counsel.
2) A standardized form for documenting eligibility for appointed counsel.
3) The use of dedicated county court staff to obtain financial information from a defendant and verify the information submitted by a defendant in support of his/her claim of indigency.

Strategies For Providing Access To A Specialized Collection: Cataloging Decisions Affecting The Quilt Newsletter Collection At The University Of Nebraska–Lincoln, Charity K. Martin, Mary Cassner

UNL Libraries: Faculty Publications

Libraries often receive gifts of unique, specialized materials to add to their collections. In 1999, the University Libraries at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln received a quilt newsletter collection as an addition to the American Quilt Study Groups quilt collection. In order to provide the best access to the collection, the cataloger in charge of the quilt newsletters developed a unique classification number for the collection and organized the collection by state of origin, followed by organization.
