2018 Nebraska Top Efficient Farms, Tina N. Barrett
2018 Nebraska Top Efficient Farms, Tina N. Barrett
Cornhusker Economics
A quarter doesn’t buy much these days so it’s easy to dismiss the value, but when 25 cents is what separates the cost of production per bushel of corn between two groups, the difference in net return starts to add up.
In 2018 the net farm income average of all farms included in the Nebraska Farm Business, Inc. group was $94,121. That was a surprisingly high number, but when compared to the net income of $261,059 for the group called the Top Efficient Farms, it shows there is a significant difference. The Top Efficient Farms group is a selection of …

Sub-Fields And Countries In The Literature Of Gout: An Analysis, Ramakrishnan Jagannathan, Ravi Sankar G, Kotti Thavamani
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
This paper presents an analysis of Sub-Fields and Countries in the literature of Gout using bibliometric techniques. The literature covered in the database for the period 2008-2017 was considered. It shows that there is a growth of literature in the subject of study by year after year. 40.44% records were covered by Journal Article. 51 journals were needed to supply one-third of the cited records for zone-1. However, 223 journals were required to produce the second grouping of records in Zone-2, and 725 journals to yield the records that constitute Zone-3. Most frequently cited primary journals were General Medicine in …
Oxytocin Receptor Genotype And Serotonin Transporter Genotype As Mediators Of Social Behavior: A Rhesus Macaque Model, Ryno Kruger
Oxytocin Receptor Genotype And Serotonin Transporter Genotype As Mediators Of Social Behavior: A Rhesus Macaque Model, Ryno Kruger
Undergraduate Honors Theses
Studies suggest that sociality plays a major role in physical and mental health, with loneliness, hostility, and aggression contributing to ill health. Genetic variation functions as a foundational basis for positive sociality, as well as antisocial behaviors such as social alienation and aggression. It is widely believed that the central serotonin and oxytocin systems are two neurotransmitter systems that play important roles in sociality and antisocial behavior. In this study, we investigate the genetic impact of the serotonin transporter gene (SERT) and a recently discovered oxytocin receptor (OXTR) gene on social isolation and antisocial behavior using a rhesus monkey model …

Indigenous Party Formation And Success: The Strategic Roles Of Reserved Seats, Parties, And Horizontal Accountability, Michael Fitzgerald
Indigenous Party Formation And Success: The Strategic Roles Of Reserved Seats, Parties, And Horizontal Accountability, Michael Fitzgerald
Dissertations and Theses
More than twenty legislatures reserve a portion of seats for ethnic minority groups, often in an attempt to prevent violent conflict and redress historical oppression. The intention of reserved seats coincides with indigenous group objectives--to achieve political representation while maintaining autonomy. Yet the formation and electoral success of indigenous parties does not always follow adoption of a reserved seat system. I explain this inconsistency by taking reserved seats as a necessary but insufficient condition of indigenous party formation, and arguing that two additional conditions must be met to motivate indigenous groups to form a viable party: the failure of the …
Characterizing The Familiar-Voice Benefit To Intelligibility, Beatriz Ysabel Domingo
Characterizing The Familiar-Voice Benefit To Intelligibility, Beatriz Ysabel Domingo
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
Everyday listening often occurs in the presence of background noise. Listeners with normal hearing can often successfully segregate competing sounds from the signal of interest. To do this, listeners exploit a variety of cues to facilitate the separation of simultaneous sounds into separate sources, and group sequential sounds into intelligible speech streams. One of the cues that has been shown to be an effective facilitator of speech intelligibility is familiarity with a talker’s voice. A recent study by Johnsrude et al. (2013) measured speech intelligibility of a naturally familiar voice (i.e., that of a long-term spouse) and showed a …
