This case study details the author’s experiences selecting books for a subject he knew nothing about. Most librarians are asked at some point in their career to take on responsibilities that they do not feel prepared for, so the author hopes this article will help readers adapt to those unfamiliar duties. The author discusses the challenges he faced within Kennesaw State University’s team-based liaison model, his attempts to do evidence-based selecting, and the lessons he learned along the way. This thesis investigates the associations between household social, economic, and physical environment conditions and the trajectory of self-reported functional limitations over time among middle-aged and older adults in China. Despite the increasing interest in the impact of household environments on functional decline, most existing studies are cross-sectional or concern changes in functioning observed in two waves of surveys, and they primarily focus on the influence of one condition. Throughout NBA history, there has been discrimination that has been faced by black players. This is not limited to the compensation that black players receive compared to white players. Literature in this are showed a significant amount of discrimination occurring between white and black NBA players when holding player performance constant when looking at the mid 1980s. This changed with later literature, as analyses of the early to mid 1990s found that this discrimination had subsided in NBA contracts.

Interethnic relationships and same-sex relationships continue to increase in the U.S. While LGBQ and heterosexual people are equally likely to be in romantic relationships, LGBQ individuals are more likely than their straight peers to be in an interracial or interethnic romantic relationship. The present work aims to expand intersectional investigations regarding queer people of color (QPOC), including accounting for their individual as well as relational well-being, by use of the couple-level minority stress (CLMS) paradigm. In my dissertation, I have dedicated two chapters to the field of labor economics, specifically exploring the subject of gender-based inequality in the Indian labor market and the differential impact of paid family leave policies based on socio-economic status within the labor market of the United States. The first chapter analyzes the gender-based wage gap in India by utilizing data from the India Human Development Survey (IHDS) for two-time frames (2004-05 and 2011-12) when labor force participation was stagnant. 香港的老年人口增長迅速，從1988年至2018年間，老年人口由46萬增加到127萬（政府經濟顧問辦公室, 2019）。隨著人口老化，長期護理服務需求也相對增加。資助安老院舍的平均等待時間長達20個月（香港政府, 2021）。在2017至2018年間，有40,000人在輪候資助安老院舍，其中6,600人在等候期間去世（香港政府, 2018）。安老服務業一直面臨人力短缺的問題，2017年的相關職位空缺率為15-20%（香港政府, 2017）。2013年的研究統計發現超過一半的安老服務前線員工超過50歲（勞工及福利局, 2019）。隨著退休潮的來臨，人力短缺的問題會進一步加劇。因此，科技與安老服務的結合被視爲減輕人手壓力的方向。結合科技和院舍服務不僅可以減輕工作量，還能提高服務質量和效率。社交媒體和視訊會議平台可以減少在訊息傳遞上的時間和人力成本。樂齡科技產品，諸如可穿戴設備和遠程監控傳感器，可以讓護理人員更快捷和系統化地掌握服務對象的狀態，從而減少親自監測的次數（Chen, 2020）。因此，自2017年起，香港政府與各部門積極推廣樂齡科技，並於2018年設立樂齡及康復創科應用基金，幫助合資格的安老及康復服務單位購置、租借和試用科技產品。香港政府於2022年更將此計劃擴展至其他非資助的私營或自負盈虧的安老院舍及殘疾人士院舍。在過去三年的新冠疫情影響下，大部分安老院舍因為防疫工作量的增加而面臨更嚴重的人手短缺，不少院舍開始將科技融入服務，以應對疫情衍生的需求和改善現有服務質素。然而，香港院舍對於如何應用社交媒體、會議平台和樂齡科技產品的研究甚少。在此背景下，本研究旨在瞭解院舍應用相關科技的情況，並提供應對有關障礙的政策建議。

What Drives The Perceived Legitimacy Of Collaborative Governance? An Experimental Study, Seulki Lee, Marc Esteve

This study explores the perceived legitimacy of collaborative governance from a citizens’ perspective. We use a preregistered online survey experiment to test the effect of three factors—representation, performance information, and issue complexity—on the perceived legitimacy of a collaboration. Findings from 1,470 U.S. respondents show that representation and positive performance information influence citizens’ perceptions of collaborative governance legitimacy, while issue complexity has little impact. Additionally, heterogeneous treatment effects were found: respondents with low trust in public organizations factor representation more into their legitimacy perceptions of collaborative governance, while those with high trust in public organizations show little influence of representation.

However, less remains known about the relationship between aerobic fitness and neurocognitive health in emerging adults, who are less likely to suffer from underlying metabolic conditions. Food waste is a significant problem in the United States with over 133 billion pounds of food that goes unused or neglected by consumers every year. Consumers use best-if-used-by dates (BUBDs) as a cue in evaluating food and deciding when to throw away food. Using an experimental sensory approach, 183 consumers evaluated the appearance and taste of salads and lunch meat with varying BUBDs. This landscape analysis focuses particularly on the decades from 1850 to 1920 during the birth and growth of the Old City. Researchers have demonstrated the Color Wheel System (CWS) to be a resource-efficient and effective classroom management system within various contexts; however, there is limited research examining the impact of the CWS on teacher behavior (i.e., reducing repeated teacher directions) and individual student in-seat behavior.
