Libraries and cultural institutions use cataloging and metadata standards to describe works and those responsible for creating them. These standards are used to create name authority records (NAR) to collocate creators’ works under single, authorized versions of their names. NARs employ controlled vocabulary to describe individuals and disambiguate names. NAR production is costly; therefore, few are updated when standards are revised, and controlled vocabularies are slow to adapt to a rapidly changing information landscape. Artificial intelligence provides opportunities to leverage social tagging to update and enhance NARs, while simultaneously improving user search and discovery. Women who have been the victim of violence have always been at a disadvantage under the laws in the United States because these laws stem from a patriarchal, sexist, heteronormative, and racist ideology under which this country was founded. Self- defense laws have shown to be no different and serve as a constraint to women who attempt to protect themselves at the hands of an abuser. Political scientists have studied the emergence and success of political dynasties in Southeast Asian countries, with post-New Order Indonesia providing several examples. Scholars have shown that Indonesia's political dynasties struggle to secure succession through local politics, but their analysis does not fully capture the turmoil of a political dynasty. This article analyzes the Yasin Limpo family's instability, focusing on how territorial politics has been exploited by local opposition and dynasties to seize and maintain power. An attempt was made to explore the usage of Web 2.0 applications and Social Networking Sites (SNS) for providing information services by libraries at selected higher education institutes in Europe, North and South America. The websites were surveyed through content analysis method that is used for a qualitative approach, as to find the details of the applications of Web 2.0 tools and SNS. Out of 72 library websites visited, only 61 libraries (48 libraries in Europe and 13 libraries in both North and South America) have adopted Web 2.0 tools and SNS. Recently, it seems as if hacking-related stories can be found in the news every day. To study, and hopefully prevent, this new type of crime, the field of cyber criminology has emerged. This study adds to the existing cybercrime literature by examining hacking behavior specifically. It determines if there is a relationship between the age, gender, and nationality of hackers and characteristics of the cyberattacks that they perpetrate. Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often exhibit problem behavior in schools, which negatively impacts their educational outcomes. Unfortunately, teachers continue to have difficulty addressing problem behavior in the classroom. Contingency mapping is a visual representation of the contingencies for engaging in a desired and undesired behaviors, which has been found to improve student behavior in the classroom setting. The current study examined the use of the contingency mapping intervention for young children with ASD. Connected Vehicles (CVs) make transportation safe by communicating with vehicles and the infrastructure in their neighborhood. CVs are embedded with onboard units (OBUs) which transmit basic safety messages (BSMs) containing the location, heading, and velocity information of the vehicle using either Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) or Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) technology. These BSMs can be used to warn drivers using various vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) or vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) applications. The present review examines research with gifted LGBTQ individuals. This article will focus on the first research with gifted LGBTQ individuals before leaping forward in time to several recent studies, each of which has significantly contributed to a field lacking in empirical research. Overall themes will then be discussed. I suggest that research in this area has notably advanced, in parallel with shifts in legislation, culture and attitudes toward LGBTQ people. Increased focus on aspects of diversity in gifted learners and gifted education have also contributed to this expanding field of research. Studies conducted in French Canadian schools following the COVID-19 lockdown report that children in a pandemic might have difficulties adapting. Gifted and twice-exceptional children—who might present special needs in this situation—could have different levels of psychosocial adaptation and mental-health needs than other children. This study assessed the psychosocial adaptation of gifted and twice-exceptional children and compared the adaptation levels of these individuals to those of non-identified gifted children. The results show that 62.5% of the gifted children had generally coped well with pandemic conditions, as did the non-identified gifted children (73.9%). Conversely, 59.5% of twice-exceptional children presented difficulties in adapting …

SENG Journal: Exploring the Psychology of Giftedness

Different physical, mental, and motivational outcomes for perfectionistic strivings and perfectionistic concerns indicate that individuals have different experiences of perfectionism. Although research has focused on parenting practices as a factor related to these differences, little research has examined the impact of temperamental differences on perfectionism. In the current study, 434 high ability undergraduate students completed perfectionism, adult temperament, and personality measures. Latent class analysis that examined the patterns among the relationships between self-oriented perfectionism, socially prescribed perfectionism, and four dimensions of adult temperament (negative affect, effortful control, extraversion, orienting sensitivity) revealed three distinct subgroups. Introduction: Goal-setting within the hospital setting can be a useful tool for health care professionals. By using a white board in a patient’s room, nurses can work with patients to create goals in their plan of care. Implementing daily goals on these boards can improve patient satisfaction, increase nurse-patient communication, and provide a sense of accomplishment.

In 2003, the Kenya Slum Upgrading Programme (KENSUP) was launched in partnership with UN-Habitat and the Government of Kenya (GoK) to improve the livelihoods of people in Kenya by 2020 through the provision of improved shelter, infrastructure, land tenure and income generation. Kibera is an informal settlement in Kenya where varying housing typologies and traditional vernacular-style designs coexist with modern housing units. Soweto East was one of eighteen villages located in Kibera selected for KENSUP’s first major housing development initiative.
