Graph queries on large networks leverage the stored graph properties to provide faster results. Since real-world graphs are mostly dynamic, i.e., the graph topology changes over time, the corresponding graph attributes also change over time. In certain situations, recompiling or updating earlier properties is necessary to maintain the accuracy of a response to a graph query. Here, we first propose a generic framework for developing parallel algorithms to update graph properties on large dynamic networks. Allocating the most competent crowdworkers to each upcoming task is a fundamental challenge in crowdsourcing. The mechanism becomes complicated when the arriving tasks require a high level of expertise within a constrained budget. The validation of skill matching between tasks and crowdworkers adds a new dimension to the traditional problem of task allocation. In addition, in real-world scenarios, the influx of both tasks and workers is dynamic, making it nearly impossible to predict the precise amount of computational resources required for the crowdsourcing platform to operate efficiently. Situational awareness during any disaster depends on effective communication and location tracking. In the case of underground mines, where the communication methods are mostly central, the whole communication channel would be rendered unusable during a disaster. To this end, we propose the use of Delay Tolerant Networks (DTN) to allow the miners to function in a distributed manner and help in locating the injured miners and routing distress messages. Adding Fe3O4 nanoparticles to composites of [Fe(Htrz)2(trz)](BF4) spin-crossover polymer and polyaniline (PANI) drives a phase separation of both and restores the molecular structure and cooperative effects of the spin-crossover polymer without compromising the increased conductivity gained through the addition of PANI. We observe an increased on-off ratio for the DC conductivity owing to an enlarged off state resistivity and a 20 times larger AC conductivity of the on state compared with DC values. As governments and non-state actors strive to minimize global warming, a primary strategy is the decarbonization of power systems which will require a massive increase in renewable electricity generation. Leading energy agencies forecast a doubling of global hydropower capacity as part of that necessary expansion of renewables. While hydropower provides generally low-carbon generation and can integrate variable renewables, such as wind and solar, into electrical grids, hydropower dams are one of the primary reasons that only one-third of the world’s major rivers remain free-flowing. Acoustic propagation measurements were collected in a seagrass meadow in a shallow lagoon for periods of over 65 h in winter and 93 h in summer. A bottom-deployed sound source transmitted chirps (0.1–100 kHz) every 10 min that were received on a four-receiver horizontal hydrophone array. Oceanographic probes measured various environmental parameters. Daytime broadband acoustic attenuation was 2.4 dB greater in summer than winter, and the median received acoustic energy levels were 8.4 dB lower in summer compared to winter. These differences were attributed in part to seasonal changes in photosynthesis bubble production and above-ground seagrass biomass.

In this paper, we firstly review the origin of Bernstein polynomial and the various application of it. Then we review the importance of goodness-of-fit test, especially the uniformity test, and we examine lots of different test statistics proposed by far. After that we suggest two new statistics for testing the uniformity. These two statistics are based on Komogorov-Smirnov test type and Cramér-Von Mises test type, respectively. The optimal speed of a machine in an assembly line is determined using a Markov decision process type model. We develop the rate matrix that represents the inter-event time of a machine, either repair time or time to breakdown, as a function of speed. We consider the rate of time to breakdown with a variety of functions of speed. We find limiting probabilities and express profit in terms of these probabilities. The dengue virus is a serious concern in many parts of the world, including Brazil. As data indicates, a prominent vector for dengue is the mosquito Aedes aegypti. By using the dengue incidence records from the Brazilian SINAN database, we estimate the population of A. aegypti within the city of Rio de Janeiro. Using historical climate data for Rio de Janeiro and the computed population estimates, we extend an existing model for the population dynamics of mosquitoes to incorporate precipitation in aquatic stages of development for A. aegypti.

Potential energy surface (PES) analyses at the SMD[MP2/6–311++G(d,p)] level and higher-level energies up to MP4(fc,SDTQ) are reported for the fluorinated tertiary carbamate N-ethyl-N-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) methyl carbamate (VII) and its parent system N,N-dimethyl methyl carbamate (VI). Emphasis is placed on the analysis of the rotational barrier about the CN carbamate bond and its interplay with the hybridization of the N-lone pair (NLP). All rotational transition state (TS) structures were found by computation of 1D relaxed rotational profiles but only 2D PES scans revealed the rotation-inversion paths in a compelling fashion. Neural networks require a large quantity of training spectra and detector responses in order to learn to solve the inverse problem of neutron spectrum unfolding. In addition, due to the under-determined nature of unfolding, non-physical spectra which would not be encountered in usage should not be included in the training set. A mixed graph is called second kind hermitian integral (HS-integral) if the eigenvalues of its Hermitian-adjacency matrix of the second kind are integers. A mixed graph is called Eisenstein integral if the eigenvalues of its (0, 1)-adjacency matrix are Eisenstein integers. We characterize the set S for which a mixed circulant graph Circ(Zn, S) is HS-integral. We also show that a mixed circulant graph is Eisenstein integral if and only if it is HS-integral. Further, we express the eigenvalues and the HS-eigenvalues of unitary oriented circulant graphs in terms of generalized Möbius function.

Accurate information on Young’s modulus (E) is required for simulating rock deformation in mines; on the other hand, it is very cumbersome to obtain in the laboratory and collecting drilled cores in sufficient amounts, especially in the case of soft rocks, is quite impossible. Empirical equations were deducted for E from easily determinable rock properties, and the final model was selected through different statistical strength parameter tests. Unburned coal grains make it difficult to use fly ash economically, which causes energy losses in the fuel. The article presents the possibilities of separating unburned coal from selected fly ash. In order to assess the possibility of separation of unburned carbon, the analysis of grain density and ash composition was used. Unburned coal was separated by four methods – one wet gravity and three dry methods. It has been found that despite very fine ash grains, the quality and quantity of separation products are significantly dependent on the separation method used and the separated grains’ qualitative characteristics. This study explores the characterization, liberation and flotation response of low-grade copper ore from Anka area, Zamfara state Nigeria. The ore was crushed, milled and sieved in accordance with BS 410 standard. It was characterized with XRD, XRF, SEM-EDS and AAS. Froth flotation was carried out with varying %solids, pH, retention time and collector dosages using SEX and sodium oleate. Particle size distribution of the ore shows its economic liberation between -150 and +106 µm while 80% passing corresponds to 175.7 µm using the Gaudin Schuhmann equation. We propose the concept of Riemann diamond-alpha integrals for time scales interval-valued functions. We first give the definition and some properties of the interval Riemann diamond-alpha integral that are naturally investigated as an extension of interval Riemann nabla and delta integrals. With the help of the interval Riemann diamond-alpha integral, we present interval variants of Jensen inequalities for convex and concave interval-valued functions on an arbitrary time scale. Moreover, diamond alpha Hölder's and Minkowski's interval inequalities are proved. Also, several numerical examples are provided in order to illustrate our main results.

In This Paper, We Shall Establish Some New Criteria for the Oscillation of Certain Second-Order Noncanonical Dynamic Equations with a Sublinear Neutral Term. This Task is Accomplished by Reducing the Involved Nonlinear Dynamic Equation to a Second-Order Linear Dynamic Inequality. We Also Establish Some New Oscillation Theorems Involving Certain Integral Conditions. Three Examples, Illustrating Our Results, Are Presented. Our Results Generalize Results for Corresponding Differential and Difference Equations.
