Cluster analysis was used to separate 726 headache patients into clusters of patients with similar symptoms. This was done to answer two questions: what "naturally occurring' groups of patients can be found? And how do these groups correspond to traditional headache types? When only two clusters were required, the best two clusters were tension and migraine-like. However, eight clusters could also be distinguished, and the migraine group then became very small. The clusters were tested for clinical interpretability by having 12 physicians name and prescribe treatment for the clusters. Molybdenum (Mo) is one of eight micronutrient elements required for the growth of plants. Research conducted in California nearly 40 years ago established its need for plant growth. Mo deficiencies have been reported throughout the world, especially on acid soils in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Generally, the Mo requirement of leguminous crops is greater than for non~legumes, but many non-leguminous field and vegetable crops have responded to additions of fertilizer Mo under severe deficiency conditions. Of all the nutrient elements required by plants for growth, Mo is needed in smallest amounts.

Contours Of Constant Principal Angle And Constant Principal Azimuth In The Complex Ε Plane, R. M.A. Azzam

For light reflection at a planar interface between two homogeneous isotropic media with complex relative dielectric function ε, we show that the constant-principal-angle contours are a family of semicircles, whereas the constantprincipal-azimuth contours are a family of (segments of) hyperbolas in the complex ε plane. We also find the exact envelope curve of both families and hence determine the domain of the ε plane of multiple (three) principal angles that is bougded by the envelope curve and the real axis. A unique and peculiar interface with ε = (5 - j√2)/27 is shown to have three coincident principal angles of …

The behavior characteristics of a commercially available hot-wire anemometer have been examined in the presence of low velocities, lwss than 0.1 m/s for the most part, and in both horizontal and vertical air flows. The orientation of the probe in a horizontal flow has been found to have a definite effect on velocity measurements, and a lower limit to the reliable application of hot-wire anemometry has been evaluated for a particular type of probe. Vertical flow measurements have resulted in the discovery of the magnitude of natural convective velocity, and a possible method for determining the dimensions of the temperature …

Until the establishment of the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976 (FCMA), fish outside the United States' twelve mile fishery zone were, according to international law, common property and belonged to the nation or individual that caught them. This common property law was based on the concept that fish resources were so large that no amount of fishing would interfere with the right of others to catch fish. Modern technology, however, has created equipment that enabled foreign and domestic fishermen to over-fish the resource. A question of Arhangel'skii, whether weakly first countable topological groups are metrizable, is answered in two ways: if the Hausdorff axiom is assumed, the answer is yes, but in general a weakly first countable topological group need not be pseudometrizable. The former result is obtained as a corollary of a more general sufficient condition for a sequential group to be Fr&chet-Urysohn. A general necessary and sufficient condition for a sequential group to be Frechet-Urysohn is given, and a number of questions are raised. Examples are given to show in what respect the theorems of the paper are the "best possible".

Petrographic studies of modern sands, derived from areas with known source rocks, climate, relief, environments of deposition, and tectonic setting, are essential for compiling compositional models for ancient sandstones. The Pacific coastal plain of Guatemala is terminated 25-60 km inland by the steep slopes of a row of active Quaternary volcanic and granitic rocks.

Sands being deposited on the coastal plain by the Rio Nahulate, which drains the older volcanic and granitic terrane, show significant compositional differences with those supplied by the Rio Samala, which drains an area dominated by active volcanism: Q₉F₃₅L₅₆ vs. Q …
