Research On 3d Path Planning Algorithm Based On Fast Rrt Algorithm, Zhaoqiang Li, Shiyu Zhang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: RRT (rapidly exploring random tree) algorithm is a sampling-based path planning algorithm, which can search a path in high-dimensional environment. The traditional RRT algorithm has the problems of low node utilization and large amount of calculation. To solve these problems, the fast RRT* (Quick RRT*) algorithm is improved by optimizing the strategy of reselection of parent node and pruning range, improving the sampling method and introducing adaptive step size, which makes the algorithm time-consuming and path length shorter. At the same time, the node connection screening strategy is added to eliminate the excessive turning angle in the path. …

Global warming is causing an unprecedented loss of species and habitats worldwide. This is particularly apparent for tropical coral reefs, with an increasing number of reefs experiencing mass bleaching and mortality on an annual basis. As such, there is a growing need for a standardized experimental approach to rapidly assess the thermal limits of corals and predict the survival of coral species across reefs and regions. Using a portable experimental system, the Coral Bleaching Automated Stress System (CBASS), we conducted standardized 18 h acute thermal stress assays to quantitively determine the upper thermal limits of four coral species across the …

Research On Active Learning Method And Application Based On Covariance Matrix, Bowen Zhou, Weili Xiong Mar 2022

Research On Active Learning Method And Application Based On Covariance Matrix, Bowen Zhou, Weili Xiong

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Since the data collected from industrial processes often contain a large number of unlabeled samples, while the number of labeled samples is small and the cost of manual labeling is high, an active learning method based on covariance matrix is proposed. This method uses labeled samples to establish a Gaussian process regression model, and constructs the covariance matrix between the unlabeled samples, using the value of the determinant of the covariance matrix as an evaluation indicator. While selecting informative unlabeled samples, the similarity between samples is measured to avoid redundant addition of samples, which finally improves model prediction accuracy …

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: The multi-resolution formal description based on discrete event system specification (DEVS) has the ability of hierarchical and structured description, but the description of the intelligent behavior inside the module is relatively lacking, while Agent-based modeling can describe the characteristics of individual perception, behavior, communication, cooperation, learning and evolution. Under the framework of multi-resolution modeling, DEVS and Agent model descriptions are combined to provide the description capabilities for events, behaviors, mechanisms, etc. Based on the description of multi-resolution DEVS models, a formal model description method with coupling closure is proposed, which includes the description of the multi-resolution entity-level atomic model …

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: The atom search algorithm (ASO) is a new optimization algorithm proposed by imitating the movement of atoms in the natural world. An improved atomic search algorithm (IASO) is proposed to address the problems of prematureness and slow convergence of ASO in solving complex functions. IASO adds the binding force generated by the historical optimal solution of individual atoms to correct the acceleration of ASO and enhance the global search capability. The two multiplier coefficients are adaptively updated to coordinate the algorithm's global search and local development capabilities. The Gaussian mutation strategy is used to re-update the atomic position and …

The Risk Of Multiple Anthropogenic And Climate Change Threats Must Be Considered For Continental Scale Conservation And Management Of Seagrass Habitat, Kathryn Mcmahon, Kieryn Kilminster, Robert Canto, Chris Roelfsema, Mitchell Lyons, Gary A. Kendrick, Michelle Waycott, James Udy

Research outputs 2022 to 2026

Globally marine-terrestrial interfaces are highly impacted due to a range of human pressures. Seagrass habitats exist in the shallow marine waters of this interface, have significant values and are impacted by a range of pressures. Cumulative risk analysis is widely used to identify risk from multiple threats and assist in prioritizing management actions. This study conducted a cumulative risk analysis of seagrass habitat associated with the Australian continent to support management actions. We developed a spatially explicit risk model based on a database of threats to coastal aquatic habitat in Australia, spanning 35,000 km of coastline. Risk hotspots were identified …

Considering the difference of route choice behavior between departure passenger and transfer passenger, the two are distinguished from each other. The dynamically updated travel …

Path-Based Model For The Heterogeneous-Fleet Electric Vehicle Routing Problem With Partial Linear Recharging, Weiquan Wang, Ding Ding, Linsha Yan Mar 2022

Path-Based Model For The Heterogeneous-Fleet Electric Vehicle Routing Problem With Partial Linear Recharging, Weiquan Wang, Ding Ding, Linsha Yan

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: The heterogeneous-fleet electric vehicle routing problem with partial linear recharging is studied for realistic logistics distribution scenarios using multiple electric vehicle fleets with different transport capacities, driving ranges and acquisition costs. A path-based mixed integer linear model is proposed. The model enumerates the paths visited by all vehicle types between any non-charging nodes, eliminates the infeasible paths through capacity constraints and time window constraints, and eliminates the dominated paths by the dominance criterion. Compared with the traditional charging station replica-based model, this model eliminates the need to set the number of charging station replicas. The results show that the …

An Internet Of Medical Things (Iomt) Approach For Remote Assessment Of Head And Neck Cancer Patients, Ruchitha Chinthala Mar 2022

An Internet Of Medical Things (Iomt) Approach For Remote Assessment Of Head And Neck Cancer Patients, Ruchitha Chinthala

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Internet-of-Medical-Things (IoMT) allows for a smart healthcare system to remotely monitor and assess patient’s progress at home. Head and neck cancers (HNC) are treated with various treatment options which are associated with significant side effects, mainly shoulder dysfunction, and trismus (spasm of jaw muscles). However, measurement of patient’s progress, and side effects while undergoing treatment, is limited to evaluation received based on scheduled appointments. Development of strategies to enhance monitoring during follow-up period is needed for earlier identification of problems such as trismus and shoulder dysfunction. In this interdisciplinary research, for the first time, we develop an IoMT enabling application, …

Characterizing Explosive Volcanic Eruptions Using Tephra Fall Deposit Data, Robert Constantinescu Mar 2022

Characterizing Explosive Volcanic Eruptions Using Tephra Fall Deposit Data, Robert Constantinescu

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

This dissertation addresses the estimation of the magnitudes and intensities of explosive volcanic eruptions using tephra fall deposits and numerical modeling. Tephra fall deposits retain information about eruption dynamics. Volcanologists sample tephra fall deposits and measure the thickness, extent and grain size distribution to estimate the erupted volume and plume height of explosive eruptions. These terms are known as eruption source parameters. These parameters are used to classify the intensity and magnitude of the eruption on a scale such as the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI). Accurate estimation of the intensity and magnitude of explosive eruptions is a crucial factor in …

Spatiotemporal Variability In Swedish Lake Ecosystems, Tarsha Eason, Ahjond Garmestani, David G. Angeler

School of Natural Resources: Faculty Publications

Studying ecosystem dynamics is critical to monitoring and managing linked systems of humans and nature. Due to the growth of tools and techniques for collecting data, information on the condition of these systems is more widely available. While there are a variety of approaches for mining and assessing data, there is a need for methods to detect latent characteristics in ecosystems linked to temporal and spatial patterns of change. Resiliencebased approaches have been effective at not only identifying environmental change but also providing warning in advance of critical transitions in social-ecological systems (SES). In this study, we examine the usefulness …
