Identification Of Main Steam Temperature System Based On Improved Particle Swarm Optimization, Zhenqian Cao, Yin Jiang, Jinhua Zhang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Establishing an accurate mathematical model of main steam temperature is the basis of improving the performance of control system. Aiming at the problems of early maturity and slow convergence in traditional particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm in model identification, an improved PSO algorithm with shrinkage factor is proposed. The algorithm improves the global optimization capability and convergence speed of the algorithm by adjusting the shrinkage factor. The on-site operating data of a 350 MW circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler in a power plant in Shanxi province are used in the identification of the main steam model parameters, and the …

Fixed-Time Event-Triggered Formation Control For Multiple Uavs, Ye Shuai, Guoping Jiang, Yingjiang Zhou, Liu Shang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: To solve the quadrotor UAV formation control problem, an event-triggered fixed time formation control algorithm of multi quadrotor UAV system is studied. For the attitude loop control problem of UAV, the switching fixed time sliding surface is selected to make the system reach the equilibrium point in a fixed time when the system state is on the sliding surface. A fixed-time sliding mode controller is designed so that the system state which is not on the sliding surface can reach the sliding surface within a fixed time. In view of the position loop control problem of UAV, the event-driven …

Three-Dimensional Visual Dynamic Simulation Of Rice Leaf Cells, Deheng Zhao, Yingding Zhao, Hongyun Yang, Wenlong Yi

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: To explore the evolution process of rice leaf cell morphology with the help of computer visualization technology, it is necessary to establish the biomechanical relationship between the cell geometry model and its deformation. A dynamic simulation method is proposed for the 3D visualization of leaf cells based on the physical-mechanical properties, in which the cytoskeleton topology is represented by a "half-edge" data structure, and the surface geometries are constructed using a bicubic Bézier surface. The control parameters of a deformed surface are determined through "vertex", "edge" or "face" topological unit query algorithms of the cytoskeleton, and the cell stress-strain …

Constructing Frameworks For Task-Optimized Visualizations, Ghulam Jilani Abdul Rahim Quadri Oct 2021

Constructing Frameworks For Task-Optimized Visualizations, Ghulam Jilani Abdul Rahim Quadri

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Visualization is crucial in today’s data-driven world to augment and enhance human understanding and decision-making. Effective visualizations must support accuracy in visual task performance and expressive data communication. Effective visualization design depends on the visual channels used, chart types, or visual tasks. However, design choices and visual judgment are co-related, and effectiveness is not one-dimensional, leading to a significant need to understand the intersection of these factors to create optimized visualizations. Hence, constructing frameworks that consider both design decisions and the task being performed enables optimizing visualization design to maximize efficacy. This dissertation describes experiments, techniques, and user studies to …

Evaluating Halogen-Bond Strength As A Function Of Molecular Structure Using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy And Computational Analysis, Quang Minh Dang, Jeffrey H. Simpson, Carol A. Parish, Michael C. Leopold

Chemistry Faculty Publications

Halogen bonding (XB) is a highly directional, non-covalent intermolecular interaction between a molecule (XB donor) presenting a halogen with an electron-deficient region or sigma hole (σ-hole) and an electron-rich or Lewis-base molecule (XB acceptor). A systematic, experimental, and theoretical study of solution-phase XB strength as a function of the molecular structure for both XB donor and acceptor molecules is presented. The impact of specific structural features is assessed using 19F and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) titrations to determine association constants, density functional theory calculations for interaction energies and bond lengths, as well as 19F–1H …

IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)

The availability of high quality forage especially during the dry season remains a major challenge to ruminant livestock production in Nigeria and many parts of West Africa. Due to the prevailing mismatch between livestock population and supply of feed resources in the arid and semi arid Nigeria, the humid forest zone represents a potential source for crop residues, especially during the dry season due to longer rainfall duration and suitable climate. This study was conducted to evaluate forage yield and nutritive quality of haulm from selected dual purpose cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp.) cultivars in the humid rain forest …

Influence Of Seeding Rate On Growth Performance And Yield Of Early Maturing Sorghum, Ismail S. Selemani, O. B. Ngonyani Oct 2021

Influence Of Seeding Rate On Growth Performance And Yield Of Early Maturing Sorghum, Ismail S. Selemani, O. B. Ngonyani

IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)

Heavy grazing pressure in Tanzanian semi-arid rangelands coupled with climate change and variability has resulted into severe decline in forage production and changes in vegetation composition. To increase forage biomass production in the face of climate change and variability, climate resilient fodder crops such as early maturing sorghum have been recommended in arid and semi-arid regions. However, paucity of information on the best agronomic practices especially the optimal seeding rate and row spacing fostered the need to carry out research on growth performance and yield of early maturing sorghum. The experiment was conducted at Magadu Dairy Farm to assess the …

Comparison Of Four Maize Cultivars (Zea Mays L.) As Winter Forage In Sudan, Rihab El Zubair Oct 2021

Comparison Of Four Maize Cultivars (Zea Mays L.) As Winter Forage In Sudan, Rihab El Zubair

IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)

Winter forage availability in Sudan is constrained by lack of a suitable annual winter forage crop. The main forage crop grown is Abu70 (Sorghum bicolor) which is a summer crop that yields 7.6-8.4 t/ha in summer but much less in winter. There is, therefore, need for a winter high yielding forage crop that exceeds Abu70 in productivity and quality. This study was aimed to evaluate four forage maize cultivars as potential winter crops in central Sudan in terms of productivity and quality. An experiment was conducted using four maize forage cultivars. The experiment lasted for two consecutive seasons …

Title Evaluation Of Yields And Nutritive Composition Of Dual Purpose Sweet Potato Vine Cultivars For Forage Use, R. S. Kenana, A. I. Hoka, N. Ondabu, F. Ondabu, J. Mercy

IGC Proceedings (1993-2023)

The sweet potato vine (SPV) is a widely grown but underutilized feed resource for livestock. The vines have desirable characteristics suitable for fodder production due to high contents of protein and digestible energy. The objective of this study was to evaluate the yield and nutritive composition of five dual purpose cultivars based on vine production for forage use. The experimental design was arranged in randomized complete block design where six cultivars of sweet potato were established in plots of 2.5m x 2.5m in three replicates. The cultivars used were; Kenspot 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. An improved forage type …
