Gr-461 Sudoku Solver Using Brute Force Algorithm With Backtracking Approach, Md Shamsul Alam, Md Jahirul Islam, Vyghni Sudha Kommineni, Jaswanthi Vellanki, Poka Sudheer

C-Day Computing Showcase

Sudoku is a fun game that challenges our brain to think logically. It only has numbers from 1 to 9 in a 9x9 matrix network where the nine numbers should not be repeated in the same column, row or each 3x3 submatrix. Although there are numerous methods to solve this problem, the most common method is the backtracking algorithm. So, we are using brute force algorithm to solve sudoku and then compare it with backtracking to ensure which algorithm gives best results.

This project focuses on formulating CFG rules and applying them to a sample text, showcasing improved NER accuracy. By combining the strengths of Spacy and CFG, we aim to address the limitations of current NER systems, particularly in recognizing individual's names, and contribute to …

Gr-434 Phase Estimation’S Application In Qram, Ethan K Hunt Nov 2023

Gr-434 Phase Estimation’S Application In Qram, Ethan K Hunt

C-Day Computing Showcase

The paper proposes a new novel way of creating QRAM through quantum phase estimation. This is done by mapping a monotonically increasing sequence of natural numbers to a binary series and, ultimately, to a characteristic constant η which is then encoded as a phase in a quantum state. This process leverages quantum phase estimation, a fundamental quantum algorithm for finding the eigenvalues of a unitary operator which can be used as a form of QRAM in either Quantum or Hybrid models of computing

Electrofacies Analysis Using A Geostatistical Approach, Northern Iraq Case Study, Hussein S. Hussein Nov 2023

Electrofacies Analysis Using A Geostatistical Approach, Northern Iraq Case Study, Hussein S. Hussein

Polytechnic Journal

The distribution of petrophysical parameters is governed by lithology, hence understanding the spatial variation in lithology is essential for reservoir characterisation. This study points out the use of well logs to estimate the lithology of carbonate rocks (limestone, marly limestone, dolomite, and dolomitic limestone) found in Upper Cretaceous to Miocene formations at the Khabbaz Oil Field in Northern Iraq. Applying the multivariate regression technique to neutron, and density data enabled accurate lithology prediction. By using independent values (well log data) to predict a dependent value (lithology), this technique is a progression of regression analysis. The formations under study comprised a …

Migration In Edge Computing, Arshin Rezazadeh Nov 2023

Migration In Edge Computing, Arshin Rezazadeh

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

Mobile IoT applications often require low response time and high bandwidth. These applications include virtual reality, augmented reality, and online gaming. Currently, most data processing is done in the cloud. However, for latency-sensitive applications, the latency may need to be reduced. Edge and fog computing can be used to place application services close to mobile devices to reduce latency. However, as mobile devices move, latency increases, which can be decreased by moving the service to a closer edge/fog server. This can be addressed by migrating services so that the mobile device can receive services from the new server. These services …

Assessment Of Green Spaces In Metro Nashville Public High Schools, Webster G. Andrews, Anna Lennon, Darlene Panvini

Science University Research Symposium (SURS)

Green spaces on and near school property have been correlated to student mental health and academic achievement. However, there is a gap in the literature investigating how quality and quantity of green space is related to socioeconomic status and school economic metrics in public high schools and the surrounding neighborhoods. Nashville public high schools located in higher socioeconomic areas and having greater financial resources were predicted to provide larger, higher quality green spaces. This study combined a quantitative analysis of neighborhood socioeconomic metrics, school socioeconomic metrics, and quantity of green space (assessed using iTree Canopy) with a qualitative field assessment …

The Role of MYC-EGR1 Pathway in Colorectal Cancer Development and its Relationship to Wnt Signaling

Colorectal tumors show high levels of Wnt pathway activity, most often due to an initiating mutation in critical Wnt pathway components. Wnt pathway activation leads to b-catenin-driven expression of genes that generally stimulate cell cycle progression. One such Wnt pathway target gene is MYC, a well described oncogene involved in many cancers, including colorectal. MYC is known to stimulate proliferation but in certain cellular contexts, can stimulate apoptosis by stimulating the expression of EGR1. This is termed a …
