Implementing Trauma-Informed Care Across All Occupational Therapy Settings, Scout Hutchinson, Kristin Domville, Pam Kasyan-Howe
Fall 2023 Virtual OTD Capstone Symposium
A quantitative research design was utilized to analyze the effectiveness of an educational seminar on trauma- informed disseminated to occupational therapy practitioners, determining their previous knowledge on trauma-informed care. The research conducted has provided a more comprehensive understanding of this population and where services are needed. There is still much work to be done with this topic and the cultural shift towards providing trauma sensitive resources to occupational therapy practitioners. The future of trauma-informed care being incorporated into occupational therapy practice settings is up to the motivation and heart of future occupational therapists in hopes to strengthen the resources offered …
A General Interview Guide, Edward D. Ives
A General Interview Guide, Edward D. Ives
Northeast Folklore Monographs
What follows is in no sense exhaustive or complete. I started from O'Sullivan's Handbook of Irish Folklore (that's where the basic structure comes from), and then I adapted it to the scene here in the Northeast by adding some questions and changing others. For any one of the aspects covered here, you can get more suggestions by looking al O'Sullivan's work.
I don't recommend trying to work straight through this guide with an informant. Nor do I particularly recommend interviewing with "guide in hand," and I'm dead against it for the first interview. Read the Guide through a few times …

Deities’ Rights?, Deepa Das Acevedo
Deities’ Rights?, Deepa Das Acevedo
Faculty Articles
A brief commotion arose during the hearings for one of twenty-first-century India’s most widely discussed legal disputes, when a dynamic young attorney suggested that deities, too, had constitutional rights. The suggestion was not absurd. Like a human being or a corporation, Hindu temple deities can participate in litigation, incur financial obligations, and own property. There was nothing to suggest, said the attorney, that the same deity who enjoyed many of the rights and obligations accorded to human persons could not also lay claim to some of their constitutional freedoms. The lone justice to consider this claim blandly and briefly observed …
Factors Contributing To Non-Compliance With Media Regulations Among Tv Operators In Kampala, Uganda, Moses Kasajja Ateng
Factors Contributing To Non-Compliance With Media Regulations Among Tv Operators In Kampala, Uganda, Moses Kasajja Ateng
Theses & Dissertations
This study investigates factors contributing to non-compliance among TV operators towards media regulation as per the 2013 Uganda Communications Commission ACT using the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). In-depth interviews were conducted with TV owners, legal officers, academia, broadcast engineers, managers, business development managers and content producers to establish the factors contributing to non-compliance. The findings show that attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioural control influence the behaviour of non-compliance. The results will help TV operators and regulator to understand the critical factors that influence non-compliance with media standards among TV operators and there are recommendations to help them improve …
Nonparametric Identification Of Differentiated Products Demand Using Micro Data, Steven T. Berry, Philip A. Haile
Nonparametric Identification Of Differentiated Products Demand Using Micro Data, Steven T. Berry, Philip A. Haile
Cowles Foundation Discussion Papers
We examine identification of differentiated products demand when one has “micro data” linking the characteristics and choices of individual consumers. Our model nests standard specifications featuring rich observed and unobserved consumer heterogeneity as well as product/market-level unobservables that introduce the problem of econometric endogeneity. Previous work establishes identification of such models using marketlevel data and instruments for all prices and quantities. Micro data provides a panel structure that facilitates richer demand specifications and reduces requirements on both the number and types of instrumental variables. We address identification of demand in the standard case in which non-price product characteristics are assumed …
Entomology Outreach Presentations To Four Audiences, Michael Goldman
Entomology Outreach Presentations To Four Audiences, Michael Goldman
Department of Entomology: Distance Master of Science Projects
I proposed that my master’s Project would be outreach on Entomology at four levels: School aged children, laymen, non-entomologists in a technical field, and entomologists. The idea here is basically how to talk about entomology to varying levels of expertise, from first graders to experts in both entomology and occupational health and safety. Presentations were given to audiences at each of the four levels. The specific topics varied for each audience. The determination was made by the inviting audience in the cases of school aged children and adult laymen and by me in the cases of Occupational Safety and Health …

Montana is ranked 10th in the nation in federal land ownership, with about 30% or 27 million acres, followed by state agencies that manage a little over 5 million acres. Moreover, Montana is the gateway to the iconic Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks.
People With Disabilities, Poverty And Social Cash Transfers: The Politics Of Financing Disability-Inclusive Social Protection Systems In Kenya, Tyson Odoo Juma
People With Disabilities, Poverty And Social Cash Transfers: The Politics Of Financing Disability-Inclusive Social Protection Systems In Kenya, Tyson Odoo Juma
Graduate Research Theses & Dissertations
What explains why the Persons With Severe Disabilities Cash Transfer (PWSD-CT) program receives limited financial support for expansion relative to the Older Persons Cash Transfer (OPCT) and Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CT-OVC) programs? I interrogate this question by exploring three potential explanations: the political incentive to build a voter base, inadequacy in financial resources and weaker institutional advocacy. Using Kenya as a case study, I rely on key informant interviews, document analysis and a mini-survey to collect data. My theoretical and empirical strategy is two-fold. First, I analyze relevant program documents and interview transcripts to gain insight …
Parent Involvement And Student Teacher Relationships In Predicting Student Outcomes, Riley Laffoon
Parent Involvement And Student Teacher Relationships In Predicting Student Outcomes, Riley Laffoon
Graduate Research Theses & Dissertations
As key players in what Bronfenbrenner describes as the mesosystem, parents and teachers interact to play an important and immediate role in child development. While the role of parent involvement and the impact of student teacher relationships are well established in the literature on student outcomes, less is known about how the two function together to impact the student. To expand the literature on this topic, the current study sought to examine how levels of different types of parent involvement (home-based, home-school conferencing, and trust) predict student teacher relationship quality, how parent involvement and student teacher relationships predict student outcomes …
The Relationship Between Loneliness And Experiential Avoidance After Implementation Of A Self-Compassion Intervention, Alyssa Mielock
The Relationship Between Loneliness And Experiential Avoidance After Implementation Of A Self-Compassion Intervention, Alyssa Mielock
Graduate Research Theses & Dissertations
An individual’s perception of a social relationship is distinct from an individual’s difficulty forming and maintaining social relationships. Loneliness is defined as an individual’s distress resulting from the discrepancy between perceived and desired social relationship quality. In the short term, loneliness may act as a motivator for an individual to seek social support to minimize distress. However, long-term loneliness is associated with physical and psychological impairments. There have been several risk factors identified that contribute to chronic loneliness, such as social isolation, psychopathology, and ineffective coping strategies. Ineffective coping may be one mechanism by which loneliness is associated with psychopathology …
Examining Measurement Invariance Of The Pios And Pios-R Across Christian, Jewish, And Muslim Groups, Johanna Anita Younce
Examining Measurement Invariance Of The Pios And Pios-R Across Christian, Jewish, And Muslim Groups, Johanna Anita Younce
Graduate Research Theses & Dissertations
The Penn Inventory of Scrupulosity (PIOS) was developed in a sample of primarily Christian participants. Since scrupulosity is intertwined with religion, it is important to establish that the PIOS and its revised version (PIOS-R) are invariant across the religions with which the measure is primarily utilized: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Additionally, there was inconsistency in the literature as to the factor structure of the PIOS/PIOS-R, so three of the models in the literature each were examined and compared for the PIOS and the PIOS-R. 718 participants were recruited through MTurk and reported affiliation with either Christianity (n = 274), Islam …

Why Do Relationships Matter To Project Managers? 3 Elements To Integrate Into Every Project Manager Tool-Kit, Sarah M. Dyson, Joe Deklinski
Beyond the Project Horizon: Journal of the Center for Project Management Innovation
Abstract
Emotional intelligence is one of the essential attributes of success in the workplace and life. It is a skill that can be learned and developed. The ability to manage emotions is also a part of it. Emotional intelligence can be taught, practiced, and mastered by anyone who wants to become a better manager. It is not just about managing your emotions but being able to manage them effectively if you want to become a better leader. One of the hallmarks of effective project leadership is building constructive relationships. Relationship building is essential because project managers do not typically have …

Lg But Not T: Opposition To Transgender Rights Amidst Gay And Lesbian Acceptance, Kelsy Burke, Emily Kazyak, Marissa Oliver
Lg But Not T: Opposition To Transgender Rights Amidst Gay And Lesbian Acceptance, Kelsy Burke, Emily Kazyak, Marissa Oliver
Department of Sociology: Faculty Publications
This article draws on sociological theories of affect and ambivalence to empirically examine individuals who express support for the rights of gays and lesbians but not transgender people. Using a representative survey of Nebraska residents and quantitative and qualitative analysis of close-ended and open-ended responses, we find that the group we call “inconsistents” are more similar demographically to consistent opponents, they outnumber consistent opponents, and that they rely on two types of logics to justify their views. For nearly all who oppose employment nondiscrimination and bathroom protections for transgender people, they use an identity logic to express skepticism, and often …
